"¿Original, o copia?" [Esp-Eng]

Entre gustos y preferencias siempre estará presente el dilema por lo que es original o no, partiendo desde el punto de la calidad, el prestigio y el valor de lo que se quiere obtener. En el ámbito musical esto no pasa desapercibido, y desde siempre ha existido esa interesante contienda relacionada tanto con el tema musical como con el instrumento por el cual podemos disfrutar de la música.

Quizás muchos digan algo como “Vaya, a todos nos gusta lo original”, y obviamente sería lo normal, solo que en ocasiones las mismas circunstancias pueden ser un factor determinante a la hora de escoger, y aunque nuestro corazón se inclina por algo, pues la realidad suele ser un poco distinta. Con todo esto, la intención de esta publicación no es poner lo original muy por encima de la copia ni de aprobar o desaprobar la realidad, más bien se trata de ver cómo este dilema se ha hecho un espacio en el mundo musical.

Hablando desde lo poco que he conocido, una de las preguntas que siempre me hice fue si en los tiempos del vinilo se podía hacer una copia de este. Para mí, ya la existencia del mismo era tan interesante como única y realmente no sé hasta que punto se podía sacar una copia del mismo. Lo único que se me ocurre pensar es en el material con que lo hacían, dando un toque diferente y una calidad de sonido notable dependiendo del disco.

In the musical field this does not go unnoticed, and there has always been this interesting dispute related to both the musical subject and the instrument through which we can enjoy the music.

Perhaps many say something like "Wow, we all like the original", and obviously it would be normal, only that sometimes the same circumstances can be a determining factor when choosing, and although our heart is inclined to something, because the reality is usually a little different. With all this, the intention of this publication is not to put the original above the copy, nor to approve or disapprove the reality, but rather to see how this dilemma has become a space in the musical world.

Speaking from what little I have known, one of the questions I always asked myself was whether in the days of vinyl it was possible to make a copy of it. For me, already the existence of it was as interesting as it was unique and I really don't know to what extent you could make a copy of it. The only thing I can think of is the material they made it with, giving a different touch and a remarkable sound quality depending on the record.

En el caso del cassette, la cosa era otra. El poder adquisitivo era algo alcanzable, lo cual permitía a muchas personas poder tener la colección de su cantante favorito. Recuerdo que mi padrino tenía una caja de cassettes, todos originales, siendo el de Leonardo Favio el que más tenía ya que recuerdo que una vez tuve la oportunidad de verlos todos y contarlos. El cassette original no solo era de buena calidad musical para aquel entonces, sino que algunos traían un historial escrito de las canciones o una breve reseña del cantante.

Aún así, también existían las copias de cassettes, los cuales se basaban en la economía y la oferta para llamar la atención de las personas. En ocasiones hasta te llegaban a vender tres cassettes por el precio de uno, algo muy tentador pues con el dinero que necesitabas para comprar un cassette original, fácilmente te comprabas diez copias y hasta más según la canción o el intérprete. También vendían cassettes nuevos sin usar para aquellos que deseaban grabar su propio set musical desde la comodidad de su casa.

Y entonces llegó el disco compacto (CD), lo cual también puso sobre el tapete la contienda entre uno original y una copia. De los mencionados, puedo decir que aquí si hubo una inclinación más evidente hacia las copias. ¿Por qué? Creo que el factor más determinante era el poder adquisitivo. No era tan fácil poder comprar un CD original, y si se trataba de cantantes como Ricardo Arjona, Chayanne, Laura Pausini entre otros, pues la cosa no estaba nada fácil. De la misma forma que ocurrió con los cassettes, también se vendían las copias de CD en ofertas más apegadas a la economía y las posibilidades de las personas.

They also sold new, unused cassettes for those who wanted to record their own musical set from the comfort of their own home.

And then came the compact disc (CD), which also put on the table the contest between an original and a copy. Of those mentioned, I can say that here there was a more evident inclination towards copies. Why? I think the most determining factor was purchasing power. It was not so easy to buy an original CD, and if it was about singers like Ricardo Arjona, Chayanne, Laura Pausini among others, it was not easy at all. In the same way that happened with the cassettes, CD copies were also sold in offers more attached to the economy and the possibilities of the people.

Aún así, muchas personas hacían esfuerzos y sacrificios para obtener el CD original de su cantante favorito. En mi caso, fue con el de Avril Lavigne llamado “Let go”. Desde el primer momento esta chica se convirtió en una de mis favoritas, mi amor platónico por su belleza y su voz. No recuerdo exactamente cuánto tiempo me tomó para poder comprar este CD, pero lo cierto es que cuando lo tuve en mis manos, sentí una satisfacción muy especial y es un tesoro especial que tengo bien guardado.

La llegada del internet y las múltiples aplicaciones musicales irrumpieron en una dispuesta que por décadas marcaron el gusto de quienes aprecian y sienten la música en su corazón. Lo original pasó a un segundo plano y ahora la rapidez y facilidad para poder escuchar el tema musical de tu preferencia nos dio la comodidad que no teníamos antes. Ya no había que salir corriendo a comprar un CD o un cassette para escuchar nuestro tema favorito, o esperar a que la colocaran en una emisora de radio para poder escucharla, y hoy hasta nos podemos valer de nuestro propio teléfono para disfrutar de buena música.

La música suele ser un universo tan amplio y maravilloso, que siempre tendrá muchos temas para compartir y disfrutar. ¿Tienes algún Disco o cassette original? ¿Cuántas copias llegaste a comprar por no tener el dinero suficiente? I don't remember exactly how long it took me to be able to buy this CD, but the truth is that when I had it in my hands, I felt a very special satisfaction and it is a special treasure that I have well guarded.

The arrival of the internet and the multiple musical applications burst in a disposition that for decades marked the taste of those who appreciate and feel music in their hearts. The original went to the background and now the speed and ease to listen to the music of your choice gave us the comfort that we did not have before. We no longer had to run out and buy a CD or a cassette to listen to our favorite song, or wait for it to be played on a radio station to be able to listen to it, and today we can even use our own phone to enjoy good music.

Music is usually such a wide and wonderful universe, which will always have many topics to share and enjoy. Do you have any original record or cassette?
