A series that generates different opinions: The Sandman [ESP/ING]

La fantasía es un género que yo no suelo frecuentar pero esta serie estaba por todos lados, y además mi novio quería verla y bueno nos sentamos a consumir estos episodios y realmente estuve viendo esta serie cuando recién salio a principios de agosto pero me pensé mucho realizar la reseña porque siento que mi opinión como que sale un poco de lo que la mayoría de la crítica dice, pero sinceramente, esta es mi opinión y una que emito de manera respetuosa.
The Sandman, es la historia que se cuenta en todo un mundo cósmico, todo se centra en Sandman o Morfeo, él es capturado y encerrado pormás de un siglo, siendo el Dios del sueño, su ausencia causa demasiado problemas que cuando por fin es libre intenta corregir, por lo que tiene que ir a diferentes mundos para intentar volver a ser el mismo y reconstruir su reino.
Fantasy is a genre that I do not usually frequent but this series was all over the place, and besides my boyfriend wanted to see it and well we sat down to consume these episodes and I was really watching this series when it just came out in early August but I thought long and hard to review it because I feel that my opinion is a little out of what most critics say, but honestly, this is my opinion and one that I issue in a respectful way.
The Sandman, is the story that is told in a whole cosmic world, everything is centered on Sandman or Morpheus, he is captured and locked up for more than a century, being the God of sleep, his absence causes too many problems that when he is finally free he tries to correct, so he has to go to different worlds to try to return to be the same and rebuild his kingdom.

La serie cuenta con 10 capítulos y un episodio bonus que es prácticamente un complemento a la historia, es decir, no continua en el final de la temporada, si no que es un plus en el universo que Netflix ha intentado exprimentar con esta propuesta, la segunda temporada aún no se ha confirmado pero las personas lo estan gritando, y esto es porque resulta que esta es una serie basada en un comic y la verdad yo no tenía idea de esto hasta que comence a ver la serie, así que soy como un a de esas personas que decidieron tomar el riesgo.
Tengo muchas cosas que decir, pero voy a comenzar con las cosas que NO me gustaron de esta serie y luego con las que SI. Lo primero que no me gusto, es que, siento que para una perosna como yo que no haya leído los comic es difícil quizá poder entender el ritmo que tiene esta serie, porque a veces sientes que todo pasa como muy rápido y que mucho sentido no tiene, además de que a veces, salen personajes que no entiendes mucho porque osea parece que simplemente están ahí por estarlo. Pero siento que esto es un poco injusto de mi parte, porque las personas que si leyeron lo comic y estan empapados de información, estan amando el desarrollo de estos y la elección de los actores, así que siento que pudiera entender mejor, de hecho investigue un poco y logre entender muchas cosas.
Ahora bien, entrando a lo que SI me gusto, realmente esta es una de las series de Netflix a las que se le nota que se le invirtio, visualmente es una de las mejores, mejores series que nos ha presentado Netflix en los últimos tiempos, me gusta mucho como se presenta esta serie, además me gusta realmente como se presentan temas que son comunes, es decir, personas que no son felices, como el intentar esconder nuestros deseos es común de los seres humanos y este tipo de cosas se presentan de formas reales sobretodo en un capítulo en especifico.
The series has 10 episodes and a bonus episode that is practically a complement to the story, that is, it does not continue in the end of the season, but it is a plus in the universe that Netflix has tried to squeeze with this proposal, the second season has not yet been confirmed but people are screaming it, and this is because this is a series based on a comic book and the truth is that I had no idea about this until I started watching the series, so I'm like one of those people who decided to take the risk.
I have a lot of things to say, but I'm going to start with the things I did NOT like about this series and then the things I did like. The first thing I didn't like is that, I feel that for a person like me who hasn't read the comics it's difficult to understand the rhythm of this series, because sometimes you feel that everything happens very fast and that it doesn't make much sense, besides that sometimes, there are characters that you don't understand much because it seems that they are just there for the sake of being there. But I feel that this is a little unfair on my part, because people who did read the comic and are soaked in information, are loving the development of these and the choice of actors, so I feel that I could understand better, in fact I did a little research and managed to understand many things.
Now, going into what I DID like, this is really one of the Netflix series that you can tell they invested in, visually it is one of the best, best series that Netflix has presented to us in recent times, I really like how this series is presented, I also really like how it presents themes that are common, that is, people who are not happy, how trying to hide our desires is common to human beings and this kind of things are presented in real ways especially in a specific chapter.

Por otro lado, siento que la interpretación de Tom Sturridge como morfeo, me encanta el personaje, realmente sí, es uno que tiene un desarrollo realmente amplio en pocos capítulos y finalmente también tiene muchos colores y contrastes que lo hacen resaltar, de verdad es un buen personaje principal. Además, otros, como Lucifer, y los hermanos de Morfeo, como la muerte y deseo, también tienen mucha fuerza y dieron bastante.
El comienzo y del desarrollo de la trama es uno que a veces me confundio, sobretodo el hecho de que estuvo encerrado más de un siglo, realmente se explico muy por encima y el tiempo siento que paso super rápido, por otro lado, un poco más allá de la mitad, Morfeo ya había reconstruido lo perdido y nos introducen otro problema que resolver y realmente esto no me molesto pero si senti que fue un poco extraño; el final realmente siento que fue digno de la serie pero de nuevo percibí como si se habia resuelto muy rápido.
On the other hand, I feel that the interpretation of Tom Sturridge as Morpheus, I love the character, really yes, it is one that has a really broad development in a few chapters and finally also has many colors and contrasts that make it stand out, it really is a good main character. Besides, others, like Lucifer, and Morpheus' brothers, like Death and Desire, also have a lot of strength and gave a lot.
The beginning and the development of the plot is one that sometimes confused me, especially the fact that he was locked up for more than a century, it was really explained very over the top and I feel that time passed super fast, on the other hand, a little beyond the middle, Morpheus had already rebuilt what was lost and we are introduced another problem to solve and really this did not bother me but I felt it was a little strange; the end I really feel it was worthy of the series but again I felt as if it had been resolved very quickly.

Sinceramente tengo un poco de opiniones encontradas con esta serie pero me gusto, sinceramente tiene una excelente producción y aunque tuve que investigar un poco para entender la trama es muy curioso y llamativo lo que nos presentan, realmente no es una de mis series favoritas pero puedo ver como es una gran entrega que hace tiempo este servicio de streaming no ofrecía.
The Sandman, es una excelente serie si sientes pasión por el género y si además estas enterado de la historia que lo antecede, de verdad fue toda una experiencia ver esta serie tiene buenos elementos que la han mantenido el el Top de Netflix desde hace mucho tiempo.
Honestly I have some mixed opinions with this series but I liked it, honestly it has an excellent production and although I had to investigate a little to understand the plot is very curious and striking what we are presented, it really is not one of my favorite series but I can see how it is a great delivery that long ago this streaming service did not offer.
The Sandman, is an excellent series if you feel passion for the genre and if you are also aware of the history that precedes it, it was really an experience to watch this series has good elements that have kept it in the Top of Netflix for a long time.

Hola, he visto los cortes y de verdad no he sentido curiosidad por esta serie y menos ahora que debo empaparme del cómic para entender y ni quedar como tú.
Aunque tu opinión no sea la misma que la crítica especializada también es valiosa para personas como yo que todavía no vemos la serie.

Cuando no se tiene la costumbre de consumir este tipo de contenido suele ser muy difícil que empaticemos desde un principio con la historia, con los personajes, con los eventos que nos cuentan, con todo un nuevo universo que está siendo adaptado incluso con su creador original. Yo amo The Sandman, su desarrollo si es lento y apresurado a la vez, pero es justo lo necesitaba la historia, yo igual tampoco sabía nada de los comics y me enamoré de la serie desde el capítulo 1, ojalá le hagan la segunda temporada, la merece.

I like the fantasy genre, but I have not been able to watch this series. At the moment I'm only watching The Dragon House and The Rings of Power.
I know Netflix has all the episodes available, so I want to watch it marathon style, so I have to find time to do that. I think I'm going to wait until they decide whether or not there will be a second season. Whether I watch it or not depends on that news. hahaha.

I feel like the only person on heart who hasn't seen this series...there were a lot of hype about this series and I really did want to see it but I just couldn't get myself to...I hope to soon enough...
Like you though, I haven't read the comic and actually haven't done any research about this series except the frequent spoilers that comes with reviews I read in this Community...it surely seems like a pretty decent movie, one that I'll surely appreciate..I'll take your word for it and try to enjoy it as soon as possible... thanks for doing justice to this review! ❤️

A mi me gusto mucho The Sandman, además a ese actor le pegaba muy bien ese personaje, en lo personal cada capítulo me dejaba con ganas de más, la verdad me gustó mucho, me pareció interesante toda la trama, buena reseña, saludos!

Por mi parte opino muy parecido a ti en el sentido de que es una serie que tiene mucho trasfondo, por lo que al mismo tiempo tiene mucho en su argumentación y trama.
Cómo bien dices, el arquetipo de un "Morfeo" o "Dios del sueño" es algo que está en nuestra historia como humanos y por ende algo a tomar en consideración para comprender los episodios.
Me alegra mucho saber que te gustó, yo también la disfruté bastante, me parece que está muy bien realizada.

El género de fantasía es bastante difícil de querer, a muchos les parece aburrido y a otros fascinante, por ejemplo, mi esposo y yo la vimos juntos, yo la amé porque me encanta el género, creo que es de mis favoritos, pero mi esposo es mas de terror y suspenso, así que se aburrió 😅
Igual que tú piensa que es una buena producción, pero simplemente no es lo suyo.
A mi me encantó de principio a fin, me gustó que tuviera mini arcos y de verdad no puedo esperar a que salga la segunda temporada, pero entiendo perfectamente tu punto, muchas gracias por compartirlo.
