My Check up Exercise on Our Sugarcane Plants

Hello, my dear people of the @agriculturalmindset community. Happy Sunday to everyone in this amazing community. I hope we have had a great day.
Today, I will be sharing my visit and care given to our little sugarcane farm. The sugarcane stem cuttings were planted by my brother. He planted them but no one bordered to check on them. I feel bad neglecting these plants in the first place. Now I am trying everything possible to take care of the little sugarcane farm and make it a bigger one.

My aim towards the sugarcane plants this time is not to cut them when matured to eat. I plan to carefully cut it at the right height and replant them to expand the farm. It's better to have plenty before harvesting to make it a family feast.

I carried out some activities on the small farm. I engaged myself in plucking off the old leaf stocks which were still attached to the stem. I noticed that the petioles were dens of ants. These ants deposit acidic substances which are not helpful to the plant.

Some of them have good-looking stems that would prompt one to cut them and eat but few had bad-looking stems with some white powdery substances. I left this for the rain. I hope by my next check on the farm after the rain, the white substances must have been washed down.

I suffered scratches before leaving to have a warm bath. The leaves are hairy and can itch ones blood cells out. Once the body comes in contact with the leaves, there must be an itchy feeling left behind. Therefore, when visiting a sugarcane farm, always put on sleeved dresses to avoid scratches. I learned my lesson and never to suffer that again.

The sugarcane is a very good plant a farmer can engage in. It's a very paying investment. A farmer who cultivates sugarcane in large quantities can be a supplier to a sugar factory. Most sugar factories manufacture sugar by passing the sugarcane plants through several processing procedures. Sugarcane plants have shallow and fibrous roots but can survive harsh soil conditions, very persistent plants group.

Except for the financial benefits of being a sugarcane farmer, one can eat them too. The health advantages of sugarcane are many and I will just share some with us here. One of the best immunity boosters is the sugarcane plants. Eating sugarcane provides the body with Vitamin C which boosts immunity and due to its fiber content, it aids digestion. It can also help in cutting down body weight.
