Flowery day for all nature lovers and the fruits and benefits that we find in it, and the fruits and benefits we find in it, this is the first time I post in this community, so I want to introduce myself, my name is Sol Roccocuchi and I have been sharing in Hive for only 7 months. I am a member of a group of volunteers who are dedicated to support environmental initiatives, such as reforestation and help in urban nurseries.

That is why I find the existence of this community so pleasant, where I can express my findings. I am also creating at home a kind of herbalist's garden of medicinal plants, although I also have some ornamental plants and succulents, which are my favorites.

I arrive here to talk about a wonderful garden located in the Medical Center of Caracas called Cincuentenario Park, it is the garden of a health center, which is also very close to another incredible park, El Cerro Avila, a mountain that is the green lung of Caracas and that covers it from one end to the other.

This Fiftieth anniversary Park, which is very well kept, welcomes us upon entering the Medical Center through one of its side doors, and its greatest attribute is to have a very particular tree species, named Santo Domingo, of which there are only three in Caracas, it is very difficult to find any information about this tree as characteristic as beautiful, it is striking the way it has to grow and its undoubted generosity to host other plants on it.

The little I know about this tree was told to me by the gardener of this space, who very kindly told me that there are only 3 trees of this species in Caracas, but he did not specify where the others are located. The Santo Domingo tree is impossible to photograph from the park itself, because I don't have enough space to get a full view of the top and its beautiful and twisted trunk.

It looks like a very old tree, not only because of the thickness of the main trunk, but also because of the arabesques that form its branches as it grows. However, it does not reach great height precisely because of its twisted branches that do not follow the vertical in its growth. Its foliage has the shape of an umbrella that provides a beautiful shade under this Caribbean sun.

The aide-de-camp of this tree explained to me that in the knots of the trunk it is possible to implant new species, which the Santo Domingo welcomes, because I imagine that if it did not like this arrangement it would secrete some toxic substance to kill the tenants.

But this beautiful garden is much more than this, you will find other beautiful species, so beautiful and so well cared for, that it seems like a dream. Clinics and hospitals are usually cold and impersonal places, so to find this oasis inside one of these health centers, is almost poetry.

At the end of the garden is the coffee shop, and so I imagine working here and find the possibility of spending time under these foliage to rest my eyes from the overwhelming work that working in a busy clinic like the Medical Center represents a delightful experience.

Florecido día para todos los amantes de la naturaleza y los frutos y beneficios que encontramos en ella, es la primera vez que publico en ésta comunidad, así que quiero presentarme, mi nombre es Sol Roccocuchi y llevo apenas 7 meses compartiendo en Hive. Soy miembro de un grupo de voluntarios que nos dedicamos a prestar apoyo a iniciativas ambientales, como reforestación y ayuda en viveros urbanos.

Por eso encuentro tan agradable la existencia de esta comunidad, donde puedo expresar mis hallazgos. También estoy creando en casa una especie de herbolario de plantas medicinales, aunque también tengo algunas plantas ornamentales y las suculentas, que son mis preferidas.

Llego hasta aquí para hablar de un jardín maravilloso ubicado en el Centro Médico de Caracas llamado Parque Cincuentenario, es el jardín de un centro de salud, que además se encuentra muy cerca de otro parque increíble, El Cerro Ávila, una montaña que es el pulmón vegetal de Caracas y que la cobija de punta a punta.

Este Parque Cincuentenario, que está muy bien cuidado, nos recibe al entrar al Centro Médico por una de sus puertas laterales, y su mayor atributo es contar con una especie de árbol muy particular, de nombre Santo Domingo, del que solo existen tres en Caracas, es muy difícil encontrar información alguna sobre este árbol tan característico como hermoso, impacta la manera que tiene de crecer y su indudable generosidad al albergar otras plantas sobre él.

Lo poco que conozco de este árbol me lo comentó el jardinero de éste espacio, que muy amablemente me contó que solo hay 3 árboles de esta especie en Caracas, pero no me especificó en donde se encuentran los otros. El árbol Santo Domingo es imposible de fotografiar desde el mismo parque, porque no dispongo de tanto espacio para lograr abarcar la copa y su hermoso y retorcido tronco en su totalidad.

Parece un árbol muy antiguo, no solo por el grosor del tronco principal, también por los arabescos que forman sus ramas mientras va creciendo. Sin embargo no consigue gran altura precisamente por sus ramas retorcidas que no siguen la vertical en su crecimiento. Su follaje tiene la forma de una sombrilla que otorga una hermosa sombra bajo este sol caribeño.

El edecán de este árbol me explicó que en los nudos del tronco es posible implantar nuevas especies, que el Santo Domingo alberga con agrado, pues imagino que si no le gustara este arreglo segregaría algún tóxico para acabar con los inquilinos.

Pero este hermoso jardín es mucho más que esto, se encuentran otras hermosas especies, Tan hermosas y tan bien cuidadas, que parece un sueño. Las clínicas y los hospitales usualmente son lugares fríos e impersonales, así que encontrar este oasis dentro de uno de estos centros de salud, es casi poesía.

Al final del jardín se encuentra la cafetería, y entonces imagino trabajar aquí y encuentro encantadora la posibilidad de pasar bajo estos follajes ratos de esparcimiento para descansar la vista del trabajo abrumador que representa trabajar en una clínica tan concurrida como el Centro Médico.
