Sean cordialmente bienvenidos a mi presentación del día. Quiero compartir como reutilice una falda de jean que ya no le sirve a mi hija para convertirla en un lindo y práctico bolsito tipo bandolero. Pues hace poco perdí el bolso que acostumbraba a usar para ir de compras y donde solo llevaba el monedero y el teléfono, así que me hacía falta otro y se me ocurrió hacerlo con la falda.
You are cordially welcome to my presentation of the day. I want to share how I reuse a jean skirt that my daughter no longer uses to turn it into a cute and practical shoulder bag. Well, recently I lost the bag that I used to use to go shopping and where I only carried the purse and the phone, so I needed another and it occurred to me to do it with my skirt.
Estaba acostumbrada a usar bolsos o carteras grandes donde llevaba una cantidad de cosas para salir, pero tuve un problema con mi columna cervical a raíz de eso hace tiempo y el médico lo primero que me sugirió seriamente fue que dejara de usar bolsos grandes porque el peso en el hombro empeoraba el problema. Así que deje de usarlos tamaño grande y ahora procuro usar solo bandoleros y los bolsos no los uso a diario sino para ciertas cosas.
I was used to using large bags or purses where I carried a lot of things to go out, but I had a problem with my cervical spine as a result of that a long time ago and the doctor the first thing that seriously suggested to me was that I stop using large bags because the weight in the shoulder the problem worsened. So I stopped using them large and now I try to only use bandoliers and the bags I do not use daily but for certain things.
Afortunadamente además de la falda tenía el cordón y el cierre al alcance para hacer la remodelación, es lo único que necesitamos. Fue muy fácil y rápido. Lo primero que hice fue cerrar la falda en la parte inferior, por el revés.
Fortunately, in addition to the skirt, I had the drawstring and the closure within reach to do the remodeling, it is the only thing we need. It was very easy and fast. The first thing I did was close the skirt at the bottom, on the wrong side.
Luego así al revés paso una costura a unos centímetros de cada punta por donde cerré, haciendo un triángulo. Eso al voltear la falda le da forma triangular al fondo, propia de los bolsos.
Then backwards I pass a seam a few centimeters from each end where I closed, making a triangle. That when turning the skirt gives the bottom a triangular shape, typical of bags.
Eso es todo lo que hay que hacer a la parte inferior y la prenda debe estar al revés. Luego estando por el lado derecho, en cada borde lateral, debemos pegar cada punta del cordón por donde va a colgar el bolso. Yo le pase costura dos veces para que quede fuerte.
That is all that needs to be done to the bottom and the garment should be inside out. Then being on the right side, on each side edge, we must glue each end of the cord where the bag is going to hang. I sewed it twice to make it strong.
Una vez que tenemos pegado el cordón procedemos con el cierre. Primero me aseguré que el tamaño es el apropiado y seguidamente con la máquina lo fijo en el borde a lo ancho de lo que ahora es un bolso.
Once we have glued the cord we proceed with the closure. First I made sure that the size was appropriate and then with the machine I fixed it on the edge across the width of what is now a bag.
Después que ese paso me di cuenta que se veía muy sencillo, le hacía falta un adorno, así que busque y encontré un pedazo de encaje y botones de varios colores, un par de cada color. Entonces los pegué con una sencilla costura a mano.
After that step I realized that it looked very simple, it needed an ornament, so I looked and found a piece of lace and buttons of various colors, a pair of each color. So I glued them together with a simple hand stitching.
Con el último paso así quedó mi nuevo bandolero para ir de compras, llevando solo lo necesario y evitando cargar peso en el hombro.
With the last step, my new bandolier was left to go shopping, carrying only what was necessary and avoiding carrying weight on the shoulder.
