Emerging crises that close opportunities while opening new ones

Although we think that this health and economic crisis resulting from the corona virus has left many people unemployed, it is also true that new jobs have emerged and that new job opportunities will most likely be provided for new professionals who can meet certain job demands that are opening up as a result of the same crisis.

image.png

This whole environment makes us reflect on the fact that it seems that every crisis closes some doors while at the same time opening new ones. In order to know what types of professionals and workers have been affected by the covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary to explore the different areas that have been affected by this pandemic.

I believe that all areas of social and economic development have been disrupted by the covid-19 pandemic, however it is logical to think that there are some areas that have been hit harder than others. One of the ways that the World Health Organization found to alleviate and counteract the problem of coronavirus transmission was social distancing and isolation.

image.png

With a global society under these regimes of social isolation, there is no doubt that the areas most affected are the following:

image.png

1] Education: Indeed, if the objective is to control that there are not multitudes of people gathered in order to eliminate the sources of transmission, education was going to be one of the areas most affected worldwide, it can be said that although it has been one of the most affected areas, it has not left teachers unemployed, since one of the strategies has been for students to receive education from home.

image.png

2] The tourism sector: To prevent the spread of the pandemic, the decision was also taken to cancel international flights, so that people no longer travel between countries, with the result that tourism activity is declining at an alarming rate.

image.png

3] Energy sector: Although this was one of the most active sectors for a long time in the past, it is logical to think that with the low mobilization of people worldwide, the consumption of gasoline and other oil products was going to decrease and therefore the consumption of oil worldwide was also going to decrease.

image.png

[4] Transport sector: If people are confined to their homes and only a small number of inhabitants are mobilized worldwide, only taking priority from the people who sign part of the most important productive and commercial apparatus of each region, we must also think that the transport sector will be affected, the commercial aviation companies have cancelled their flights and all kinds of activity, In my case, I can tell you that here in Venezuela, specifically in the region of the State of Zulia, to which I practically belong, public land transport functions at about 2% of its capacity.

In conclusion, there are many productive areas that have been closed, which leads us to think that all the people who work and are employed in jobs that depend on many of the areas mentioned have unfortunately been left without jobs, and it is under this point that the outcome of this article takes some sense of understanding, If due to the covid-19 pandemic many of these people became unemployed, this without taking into account all types of businesses that had to close after their low sales, it is because then under this scenario that I claim that they have closed many existing job possibilities to the current global society.

Now let's look to the near future based on the present, while some doors are closed, others are open, at the beginning of the post comment that educators were one of the few sectors of society that the pandemic had not left them unemployed, and why? of course because the classes in their different and possibilities of teaching are being taught at a distance benefiting from the technological tools known.

Not only education has been the only area that has needed virtual technology, artificial intelligence and robotics, just to name a few technological aspects, there are other areas that have had a high demand for this technology, so you need experts in programming and computing, people who perform maintenance to this type of technology.

image.png

Another conclusion that can finally be reached is that the pandemic closed the doors for some unemployed people, but for other types of professionals the vision may be that they are opening up other possibilities for entering new labor markets where artificial intelligence, the use of drones and automated systems are helping humanity not to become completely paralyzed, and if other pandemics are coming or if this one is prolonged, I believe that this type of professional will have the greatest possibilities of employment, without leaving aside the pharmaceutical and bionalist professionals and those who process food, because whatever happens, humanity will still have to continue to feed itself.

Conclusion

Every crisis brings learning and new opportunities, and it is most likely that the planet will develop under a scheme where professionals and workers can exercise their work online, so I can say that people who do not master technology and automated processes will face a great challenge to find work, especially when the economy may fall back again, so people who have had difficulty developing digital work skills will be the most vulnerable to become unemployed, while at the same time those who develop more knowledge in these areas will have excellent possibilities.

I am very optimistic about the possibilities that blockchain technology is giving us in allowing us to work in these platforms of content generation and interaction, in which many of us are rewarded while we can work from our homes, this would be one more area of work that adds to the possibilities of generating a profitable economy and decrease the chances of failure by having to be unemployed by this economic recession product of the covid-19.

That's right @carlos84
Always if one door closes, others will open, that's called hope.
The reality is that new things will always come up, that's the logic.
That's why you don't have to despair, and always be on the lookout for good opportunities, as well as being willing.

I believe that from every bad experience we learn something new, we must always see the positive side of things no matter how difficult. Today many people are unemployed but there are also many who have decided to face the situation and do something about it, many have created their own business and have decided to undertake. Sometimes a door closes but many windows open, things happen for a reason and almost always it is for something better.

In this pandemic period, some are winning and others are losing job opportunities... Unfortunately, things will continue this way for a while. However, I think that trying new paths (this is a matter of perspective) can help people get back into the job market.

I am happy to see that people are looking at the silver lining here.
And it is true that many are suffering but It is also true that its time to evolve. Like how many companies and industries are evolving we must too acquire skill and adapt.
