Sociology is a discipline that teaches us the size of the social in all its aspects, but the most important thing that this discipline can give us is the opportunity we have to generate a perspective oriented to the educational fact.

Through sociology we can analyze the educational phenomenon by means of the knowledge that sociology offers us and in this way understand the educational process from a social and human perspective.

It is interesting that all those involved in the educational process can interact and share knowledge linked to opinions whose analysis is focused on the social context in which the educational process of a given region or sector develops.

The formality of the educational process can give us an idea of the capacity to nurture all the aspects that encompass the process of sociology, and not only that, but professionals linked and linked to sociology as psychologists, anthropologists and economists, make education an open sky process that allows the whole society as a whole can contribute to the educational aspect.

We can conclude that sociology is so linked to the educational aspect that the concerns that are held within the sociology of education are not so distant from the concerns that are held within sociology, since the sociology of education studies and is concerned as sociology by:

  • Social equality: everyone who has the opportunity to receive knowledge through an education whose educational process is meaningful can have the same opportunities for economic, social and personal development as everyone else in his or her environment.

  • Equity: the sociology of education is concerned with equity as a fundamental element of an education with equal conditions while the educational moment occurs.

It is important to mention that as we continue to deepen the concerns and contributions provided by the sociology of education, we must shift towards a perspective that allows to involve all aspects of study and analysis within a context where the sociology of education should be seen as an independent discipline, because if the vision is to see the sociology of education as the study of the educational aspect by sociology, we would not be making free a knowledge that helps education to reach the highest levels of equality and social equity.
