Greetings to all my hive people, especially to the friends of the Architecture+Design Community. This is my first post in this community that I chose to share part of the restoration works of the Plaza Bolivar de Santa Rita, which is located in the Francisco Linares Alcantara Municipality of Aragua State in my country Venezuela. Three days ago I was able to take a tour through the municipality to get to know a little more about the place where I have been living for a few months. Although I had been there before, this time I was amazed to see certain beneficial changes for the delight of the inhabitants and students who usually spend moments of recreation in this space surrounded by vegetation that delights everyone who passes through there.

Saludos a toda mi gente de hive, especialmente a los amigos de la Comunidad de Arquitectura+Diseño. Esta es mi primera publicación en esta comunidad que elegí para compartir parte de los trabajos de restauración de la Plaza Bolívar de Santa Rita, la cual está ubicada en el Municipio Francisco Linares Alcántara del Estado Aragua en mi país Venezuela. Hace tres días pude hacer un recorrido a través del municipio para conocer un poco más el lugar donde vivo desde hace unos meses. Aunque ya había estado allí antes esta vez me quedé asombrada de ver ciertos cambios beneficiosos para el deleite de los habitantes y de los estudiantes que acostumbran pasar momentos de recreación en este espacio rodeado de vegetación que delita a todo el que transita por allí.

These restoration works are part of the government policy called Aragua Bonita, which seeks the beautification of public spaces where an ecological program is implemented to reaffirm the importance of the new conservationist culture of the environment. This change that is intended to be implemented in the community, seems very positive to me, especially because I love nature, especially the vegetation that gives us trees and shrubs with their beautiful flowers.

Estos trabajos de restauración obedecen a la política gubernamental llamada Aragua Bonita que busca el embellecimiento de los espacios públicos donde se implanta un programa ecológico para reafirmar la importancia de la nueva cultura conservacionista del medio ambiente. Este cambio que se pretende ir implantando en la colectividad, me parece muy positivo sobre todo porque me encanta la naturaleza, especialmente la vegetación que nos regala árboles y arbustos con sus lindas flores.

The Plaza Bolivar of Santa Rita, like all the squares is in front of the church of the place, called Church of Santa Rita de Cascia but is known only by the name of Church of Santa Rita, very visited by the locals and with a cool rural style that matches the place. Also whoever visits the Plaza could enjoy the rehearsals of the Luis Arfilio Omaña Music School that works in the Church, only that for now they are not holding meetings due to the pandemic.

La Plaza Bolívar de Santa Rita, como todas las plazas está frente a la Iglesia del lugar, llamada Iglesia de Santa Rita de Cascia pero se le conoce solo por el nombre de Iglesia de Santa Rita, muy visitada por los lugareños y con un estilo rural fresco que combina con el lugar. Además quien visite la Plaza podría disfrutar los ensayos de La Escuela de Música Luis Arfilio Omaña que funciona en la Iglesia, solo que por ahora no se están llevando a cabo reuniones debido a la pandemia.

Among all the things that caught my attention was the encouragement of the work crews that were distributed to attend to the maintenance of the plants, it was very amazing to see how there were workers in charge of planting and watering. This care is necessary to keep the vegetation alive, although unfortunately in the municipality there are many failures in the distribution of water, but here I found it very amazing that they have the necessary water.

Entre todas las cosas que me llamaron la atención está el estímulo de las cuadrillas de trabajo que estaban distribuidas para atender el mantenimiento de las plantas, era muy asombroso ver como habían trabajadores encargados de la siembra y el riego. Este esmero es necesario para que se mantenga viva la vegetación, aunque lamentablemente en el municipio hay muchas fallas en la distribución del agua, pero aquí me pareció muy asombroso que cuenten con el agua necesaria.

The square has the shape of an amphitheater for the different events that take place in the sector, including cultural and political events. It has concrete bleachers, strong and very decorative columns. I liked this very much, because it has an imposing structure, well designed and that enhances at first sight the Plaza de Santa Rita.

La plaza tiene forma de anfiteatro para los distintos eventos que se hacen en el sector, entre los eventos están los culturales y algunos políticos. Se cuenta con gradas de concreto, columnas fuertes y muy decorativas. Esto me gustó mucho, porque tiene una estructura imponente, bien diseñada y que realza a simple vista la Plaza de Santa Rita.

Precisely because it is a place for recreational activities, the plaza has a concrete stage, with stairs and metal railings. I could see that the stage still needs to be restored, and you can see that some of the columns are missing lamps because the recovery and maintenance is slow but confident that it will be safe and complete. Also on the stage you can see some plants waiting their turn to be planted in the gardens. This image of the waiting plants can be seen in almost all the place and I could understand that the square will be more decorated which will make it a beautiful ecological point.

Precisamente la plaza por ser un lugar para actividades recreativas tiene un escenario de concreto, con escaleras y barandas metálicas. Pude observar que al escenario le falta todavía restauración, y se puede ver que en algunas columnas faltan lámparas pues la recuperación y mantenimiento se hace lento pero confiando en que sea seguro y completo. Además en el escenario se pueden ver algunas plantas que esperan su turno para ser plantadas en los jardines. Esta imagen de las plantas en espera se puede apreciar en casi todo el lugar y pude entender que la plaza estará más adornada lo que la hará un bello punto ecológico.

A metal fence also borders part of the plaza and the trees are shining between the structures that make up the building.

Se aprecia una cerca también metálica que bordea parte de la plaza y los arboles resplandecen entre las estructuras que conforman la edificación.

I can not forget to talk about this beautiful monument dedicated to the memory of Simon Bolivar, which is very remarkable for its size and dark color that gives it a stately appearance.

No puedo olvidar hablar de este hermoso monumento dedicado a la memoria Simón Bolívar, el cual se ve muy notable por su tamaño y color oscuro que le da un aspecto señorial.

Finally, once I finished taking the pictures I left the plaza very happy to see this architectural work in better conditions and knowing that if the restoration and maintenance work continues this place will become a public space that will attract more visitors.

Para finalizar, una vez que terminé de tomar las fotografías me fui de la plaza muy contenta por ver esta obra arquitectónica en mejores condiciones y sabiendo que si el trabajo de restauración y mantenimiento continúa este lugar se convertirá en un espacio público que atraerá mayores visitantes.
