😃 Walking along the lake of Maracaibo, Zulia State.

Today I come to tell you about my latest adventure traveling through Venezuela, knowing every corner of my beautiful country. Today I invite you to take a tour around Maracaibo, Zulia State, a warm place not only because it is the hottest city in Venezuela but also because of its people.

This adventure was undertaken by a group of people who without much organization we decided to spend a few different days during the Easter vacations; and there is nothing better than leaving home and even more when it is to visit your loved ones.

Táchira and Zulia have always been deeply linked, our families always come together in marriages, in business or just good friendships. I love the Maracuchos (that's their gentilicio) they are cheerful, funny, hardworking and have a way of speaking very different from the others.

I arrived in Maracaibo on Friday April 11 and on my first trip we went to visit the basilica of the Virgin of Chiquinquira or as we call her with affection throughout the country “La Virgen Chinita”. The whole country loves her very much, the whole Zulia pays tribute to her all year long and it is common to see tourists passing by to thank her for the miracles and blessings she always gives us.

This Basilica is right in the center of the city, it is really beautiful and very well kept. Inside the facilities there is air conditioning, and when you go outside there are many gardens and trees where you can take cover from the relentless Marabi sun.

We walked for a while along the boulevard or promenade of “La Chinita” we took many pictures and ate the inevitable “cepillado” which is nothing more than shaved ice sweetened with the flavor of your choice and condensed milk on top.

After that we went to visit another enigmatic place in the west of the tour “Lake Maracaibo”, which is said to be the largest lake on the continent and from where the best oil in the world is extracted. Also from there you can see the famous bridge over the lake which is also said to be among the largest of its kind.

Along the lake promenade you can walk, ride bicycles, run, there are exercise areas and many food vendors. They also have an acoustic shell where significant events are held.

Then for the afternoon we went to eat, it was almost two in the afternoon and we were very hungry. What I didn't expect was that my nephew Alejandro was going to take us to eat on the shores of the lake, in a place called Santa Rosa de Agua, where the restaurants are built inside the lake.

This type of construction is called “palafitos” and the first houses of this type were designed by our indigenous people.
The food was abundant and we all ate very well, my nephew ordered an aphrodisiac dish that is typical for consumption, I do not remember its name but it was something like “Huevas de pescado” (fish eggs).

Every step we took were moments of happiness, unique memories, laughter that fed my soul. I really enjoyed seeing their nice houses and knowing that they live well, they have stable jobs and little by little they have been building a nice family.
I left Maracaibo happy, with a smile in my soul, with spontaneous sighs that only come from the heart.

Salud y saludos.
Mother: combination of sweetness and love, grace and tenderness, richness and value, beauty and truth. This is the greatest, unique, supreme being.
In her are agglutinated the true feelings, the absolute greatness, the will to all test, the eternalized love. The mother is a being of present, of perennial permanence, of permanent need. The second Sunday of the month of May is unfairly dedicated to her, when in fact her day is covered by the entire almanac.
The mother is the only being capable of being unfaithful and at the same time to be admired, because she loves all her loved ones with the same intensity of your whole being.
Once they compared life with the mother and thought that life would win, but lacking the warmth of your presence, the goodness of your soul, your virtue, your sweetness, your judgment, your permanent understanding, life surrendered to you and said: There is nothing greater than the mother because it is she who begets life and love.
Many congratulations on this special day.
Greetings and salutations.
