Hoy vengo emocionada para participar en el concurso de Ladies of Hive Community Contest #90, quiero agradecer a mi amiga @Kattycrochet por invitarme y aprovecho de invitar a mi amiga @Purrix para que se una a la diversión.

1️⃣ Cuéntanos sobre tus pasiones, como pintar, bailar, dibujar, tejer, tomar fotografías, etc. El cielo es el límite, ¡cualquier cosa que te haga feliz es una pasión!

¿Han visto ustedes alguna vez la película "Como agua para chocolate"? Donde la chica cocina con pasión, mezclando especias, carnes, vegetales con los sentimientos del alma. De allí alimentaba a sus amigos y familiares y despertaba en ellos cualquier sentimiento que tuviesen escondidos. Es una película muy vieja pero dejó una huella en mí.

Por otra parte la cocina siempre está arraigada a nuestras raíces, sobre todo a nuestras madres quien desde el primer día que nacemos ya nos alimenta y nos hacen sentir que a través de la comida también se trasmite los más hermosos de los sentimientos "El AMOR".

Desde pequeña fui criada en un hogar donde había muchas personas, unos iban y venían, pero mi madre siempre estaba allí, la podíamos conseguir siempre en la cocina, haciendo guisos, sopas, café; siempre con una hermosa sonrisa, echando broma, recibiendo a todos con cariño y comida.

De esa casa y hasta el sol de hoy no se va nadie sin comer, ni en los peores tiempos en los que faltaba la comida se sentía hambre escases. De ella, de mi madre, es que todos hemos aprendido a ser bondades, amables y no sé cómo explicarles pero todo va ligado de una forma u otra a la comida.

Desde que llegué a Hive ese sentimiento despertó a un mas, ahora no solo cocino para mi familia sino también para cada uno de ustedes que ven mis recetas. No solo quiero contar una receta y ya, sino que quiero que sepan lo que siento cuando cocino, cuando compro los ingredientes y también sueño con que ustedes puedan replicar mis platos en sus casas.

En los últimos meses he realizado un proceso de investigación y he llegado a la conclusión que si se puede comer sabroso con los mismos ingredientes de siempre, solo hay que colocar una cosa aquí y otra allá y de ahí se desprende nuevos sabores.

También crecimos con la idea de que se come con los ojos y es verdad, si servimos la comida de forma armónica, combinando colores y sabores podemos despertar en nuestros comensales una gran felicidad.

Hive está ligado a mi cocina, es un sentimiento más reciente, mi familia ya lo sabe que ahora no solo cocino para ellos sino para cientos de personas que conviven en la plataforma y al saber esto me siento empoderada, me hace sentir bien conmigo misma, me inspira hacerlo cada día mejor y a no dejarme derrotar por las adversidades.

Si estoy feliz cocino, si estoy triste cocino, si viene alguien a mi casa cocino, si voy algún sitio cocino; mi vida se desarrolla alrededor de un fogón. Nuevamente viene a mi pensamiento los recuerdos de mi madre, así era ella y lo sigue siendo, por ejemplo, cuando vamos en navidad se la pasa todo el mes preparando cosas ricas para recibirnos, atendernos; pero cuando nos vamos a venir nos hace gallina asada y nos sirve para comer ese día y hasta para llevar.

En definitiva, la cocina la llevo en la sangre y me gustaría ver a las nuevas generaciones cocinando un poco más, haciendo cosas sanas para sus familias, que comieran más ensaladas, verduras, sopas, jugos naturales. Mientras Dios me de vida y licencia cocinaré mucho y compartiré con todos, porque eso es lo que me hace feliz, así como me enseño esta grandiosa mujer que es "MI MADRE"

2️⃣ Cuéntanos sobre tu emprendimiento, proyecto, negocio o plan para mejorar tu situación económica. Cuando apareció la idea, ¿cómo hiciste el plan de negocios? ¿Ha sido difícil encontrar proveedores o insumos? ¿Se han identificado los clientes con su servicio?

Para responder a esta pregunta tengo que remontarme nuevamente a mi infancia, tengo que recordar a esas hermosas abuelas amigas de mi madre que me invitaban a sus casas a quedarme en vacaciones y a cambio de que les hiciera compañía y mandados me enseñaban a coser, tejer, bordar y hacer cosas bonitas con mis manos.

Hive ha llevado esta pasión a otra dimensión, nuevamente me ha empoderado, ha hecho que mis conocimientos se vuelvan más fuertes y sería una ingrata sino reconociera lo que esta plataforma ha hecho por mí y gracias a eso me he convertido en una mejor persona.

Desde que salí jubilada en el 2012 me incliné hacia las manualidades, no quería trabajar más en la calle, quería obtener mis propios ingresos trabajando desde casa. Parte de esta decisión tenía que ver con mis hijos que aún estaban pequeños y necesitaban de mis cuidados, así que vi la oportunidad de hacer las dos cosas al mismo tiempo.

Con lo que me dieron de liquidación invertí una parte en mi preparación, hice cursos, conocí personas, compre una máquina de coser, compré todo tipo de material, desde distintos tipos de agujas hasta telas de todos colores. Formé mi taller en una de las habitaciones de la casa y allí comencé hacer feliz.

En este punto debo decir que hubo una temporada muy difícil en mi país Venezuela donde no conseguíamos materiales para trabajar; recuerdo que la tela Etamina para bordar la teníamos que encargar de Cúcuta Colombia, luego se fueron desapareciendo otros materiales y teníamos prácticamente que subsistir con lo que teníamos, pero Dios nunca nos abandonó y siempre supimos sortear todos esos obstáculos para salir adelante.

De eso se trata lo que hago, en sentirme bien conmigo misma y transmitirlo en cada prenda que confecciono.

Así comencé en el 2013 con mi taller de costura, especialista en tejido, bordado y lencería para niños. Cuando estamos en este tipo de negocios no paramos de aprender y prepararnos, las modas van cambiando de una día para otro y hay que estar atentos a lo que los clientes nos solicitan.

El taller de Carolina no se detiene ni un momento, el tiempo tengo que tratar de estirarlo para que alcance para todo. Por otra parte debo reinventar y rediseñar estrategias para vender mis productos.

Recientemente diseñé una serie de prendas en tejido y bordado para ofrecerlas por las redes sociales a mis amistades, segura de que a través de ellas llegaré a más personas.

Cuando hacemos publicidad la gente se va enterando de lo que estamos vendiendo y una cosa va llevando a la otra, es decir, cuando alguien ve mis tejidos enseguida pregunta si hago crop tops, vestidos de bebé, cintillos, mantas, zapatos y así voy conociendo nuevos clientes que terminan haciendo buenos encargos.

Solo les puedo decir que mi mejor técnica y se la recomiendo a todos fue haberme preparado, haber asistido a cursos y haberme rodeado de personas exitosas que me orientaron y sin ningún egoísmo compartieron sus más íntimos secretos para alcanzar el éxito.

Desde el 2013 no he parado de tejer, bordar y coser lencería de bebé, como me dijo mi amiga Carmen una vez "Carolina, si hay algo seguro en esta vida es que la mujer nunca deja de tener bebés" y tenía toda la razón. Yo sé que los juegos de baño, cortinas, sabanas se venden, pero haberme inclinado por la lencería de bebés me ha hecho muy feliz y he transmitido ese sentimiento a través de cada puntada.

1️⃣ Tell us about your passions, like painting, dancing, drawing, knitting, taking pictures, etc. The sky is the limit, anything that makes you happy is a passion!

Have you ever seen the movie "Like Water for Chocolate"? Where the girl cooks with passion, mixing spices, meats, vegetables with the feelings of the soul. From there she fed her friends and family and awakened in them whatever feelings they had hidden. It is a very old movie but it left a mark on me.

On the other hand, cooking is always rooted to our roots, especially to our mothers who from the first day we are born already feed us and make us feel that through food also transmits the most beautiful of feelings "LOVE".

Since I was little I was raised in a home where there were many people, some came and went, but my mother was always there, we could always find her in the kitchen, making casseroles, soups, coffee; always with a beautiful smile, joking, welcoming everyone with love and food.

From that house and to this day no one leaves without eating, not even in the worst times when food was scarce. From her, from my mother, is that we have all learned to be kind, kind and I do not know how to explain but everything is linked in one way or another to food.

Since I came to Hive that feeling awakened to a more, now I not only cook for my family but also for each of you who see my recipes. I don't just want to tell you a recipe and that's it, I want you to know what I feel when I cook, when I buy the ingredients and I also dream that you can replicate my dishes in your homes.

In the last few months I have done a process of research and I have come to the conclusion that you can eat tasty food with the same ingredients as always, you just have to put one thing here and one thing there and from there new flavors emerge.

We also grew up with the idea that you eat with your eyes and it is true, if we serve food in a harmonious way, combining colors and flavors we can awaken in our guests a great happiness.

Hive is linked to my cooking, it is a more recent feeling, my family already knows that now I not only cook for them but for hundreds of people who live on the platform and knowing this I feel empowered, it makes me feel good about myself, it inspires me to do better every day and not let myself be defeated by adversity.

If I am happy I cook, if I am sad I cook, if someone comes to my house I cook, if I go somewhere I cook; my life develops around a stove. For example, when we go at Christmas she spends the whole month preparing delicious things to welcome us, to take care of us; but when we are going to come, she makes us roast chicken and serves us to eat that day and even to take away.

In short, cooking is in my blood and I would like to see the new generations cooking a little more, making healthy things for their families, eating more salads, vegetables, soups, natural juices. As long as God gives me life and license I will cook a lot and share with everyone, because that is what makes me happy, just like this great woman "MY MOTHER" taught me.

2️⃣ Tell us about your venture, project, business or plan to improve your economic situation. When the idea came up, how did you make the business plan? Has it been difficult to find suppliers or inputs? Have customers identified with your service?

To answer this question I have to go back to my childhood, I have to remember those beautiful grandmothers friends of my mother who invited me to their homes to stay on vacation and in exchange for my company and errands they taught me how to sew, knit, embroider and make beautiful things with my hands.

Hive has taken this passion to another dimension, again it has empowered me, it has made my knowledge stronger and I would be ungrateful if I didn't acknowledge what this platform has done for me and thanks to that I have become a better person.

Since coming out of retirement in 2012 I gravitated towards crafting, I didn't want to work on the street anymore, I wanted to earn my own income working from home. Part of this decision had to do with my children who were still young and needed my care, so I saw the opportunity to do both at the same time.

With the money I received from my severance pay I invested part of it in my training, I took courses, met people, bought a sewing machine, bought all kinds of material, from different types of needles to fabrics of all colors. I formed my workshop in one of the rooms of the house and there I began to make happy.

At this point I must say that there was a very difficult time in my country Venezuela where we did not get materials to work with; I remember that we had to order the Etamina fabric for embroidery from Cúcuta Colombia, then other materials were disappearing and we practically had to subsist with what we had, but God never abandoned us and we always knew how to overcome all those obstacles to get ahead.

That's what I do, to feel good about myself and transmit it in every garment I make.

That's how I started in 2013 with my sewing workshop, specializing in knitting, embroidery and lingerie for children. When we are in this type of business we do not stop learning and preparing ourselves, fashions change from one day to another and we must be attentive to what customers ask us.

Carolina's workshop doesn't stop for a moment, I have to try to stretch my time so that I have enough time for everything. On the other hand, I have to reinvent and redesign strategies to sell my products.

I recently designed a series of knitted and embroidered garments to offer them through social networks to my friends, sure that I will reach more people through them.

When we advertise, people find out what we are selling and one thing leads to another, that is, when someone sees my fabrics immediately asks if I make crop tops, baby dresses, headbands, blankets, shoes and so I meet new customers who end up making good orders.

I can only tell you that my best technique and I recommend it to everyone was to have prepared myself, to have attended courses and to have surrounded myself with successful people who guided me and without any selfishness shared their most intimate secrets to achieve success.

Since 2013 I have not stopped knitting, embroidering and sewing baby lingerie, as my friend Carmen once told me "Carolina, if there is one thing for sure in this life is that women never stop having babies" and she was absolutely right. I know that bath sets, curtains, sheets are sold, but having leaned towards baby lingerie has made me very happy and I have transmitted that feeling through every stitch.
