Hola hola mi querida familia de Needleworkmonday, espero que todos estén bien, ya estamos a 10 de Junio y todas las tejedoras estamos de fiesta porque hoy celebramos el día mundial del tejido en público, esta actividad fue iniciada por una tejedora como tú y como yo que quería sacar todo lo bueno del arte y hacer que esto pasara de ser una actividad solitaria a una actividad social. La primera vez que se celebró esta fecha fue en el año 2005 y fue organizado por Danielle landes en Australia.

Cuentan que todo comenzó con una sencilla reunión en una casa de familia y luego fue creciendo la idea. Por otra parte se quería demostrar que tejer no era una actividad solo para las abuelas de la casa sino que es algo que va más allá de crear, de ser feliz con lo que hacemos con nuestras manos y que esto también puede llegar a convertirse en un negocio muy productivo.

Hello my dear Needleworkmonday family, I hope everyone is well, we are already on June 10th and all the knitters are celebrating because today we celebrate the world knitting day in public, this activity was started by a knitter like you and me who wanted to bring out all the good of the art and make this go from being a solitary activity to a social activity. The first time this date was celebrated was in 2005 and it was organized by Danielle landes in Australia.

The story goes that it all started with a simple gathering in a family home and then the idea grew. On the other hand, they wanted to show that knitting was not an activity only for the grandmothers of the house, but that it is something that goes beyond creating, being happy with what we do with our hands and that this can also become a very productive business.

Hoy en día se realizan muchísimos eventos a nivel mundial y estos en su mayoría son organizados por tiendas, mercerías, marcas de hilos, alcaldías y grupos de tejedoras. En Caracas fue donde conocí por primera vez de esta actividad; recuerdo que un día mientras caminaba por el Parque del este observe a un grupo de mujeres y hombres tejiendo cosas muy hermosas y llenas de color, aquello me gustó mucho y por eso me acerqué a preguntar, las amigas que allí estaban muy amablemente me hablaron de lo que hacían y me invitaron para compartir. Allí se reúnen cada sábado desde hace muchos años y este día es muy especial para ellos, quienes de la mano de la tienda cose y teje realizan actividades para celebrar el maravilloso mundo del tejido.

Today there are many events worldwide and most of them are organized by stores, haberdasheries, yarn brands, city halls and knitting groups. No fue sino hasta el año 2012 que me decidí a tejer y aprender formalmente esta técnica de la cual me enamoré por completo y es mi principal fuente de ingresos desde entonces.

Está demostrado que tejer tiene efectos positivos en el ser humano, ya que al practicarlo se libera serotonina y dopamina que te generan un estado de felicidad y liberación de estrés, además refuerza las conexiones neuronales al activar diversas áreas del cerebro y puede ayudar a quienes sufren déficit de atención. Algo importante que refieren del tejido es que da claridad al pensamiento y a los sentimientos de las personas.

It has been proven that knitting has positive effects on the human being, since when practicing it, serotonin and dopamine are released, which generate a state of happiness and stress release, it also strengthens neuronal connections by activating various areas of the brain and can help those who suffer from attention deficit. Muchas veces se ha pensado que tejer es solo para el género femenino y no hay nada más falso que esa teoría, hoy en día también los hombres tejen y esto hace que el tejido rompa paradigmas. En el año 2015 conocí a quien fuera mi profesor de Telar Señor Antonio, un señor amable, con muchos conocimientos en la materia y de quien nunca me olvidaré porque sin pagarle ni medio me enseñó como tejer en Horquilla, algo que es para mí muy especial, porque no todo el mundo los conoce y los realiza.

En estas actividades todas somos iguales, todas compartimos, damos nuestros tips, ayudamos a otras para que aprendan, es decir que no hay egoísmo de ningún tipo.

When the weavers take over public spaces they are inviting everyone to know what weaving is all about, they are telling everyone who sees them, hey, come on, you can do it too!

In these activities we are all equal, we all share, we give our tips, we help others to learn, that is, there is no selfishness of any kind.

Para celebrar este día quise hacer un stop en la costura para tejer y traerles este hermoso vestido para una niña que pronto nacerá. Aunque todavía me faltan los zapatos no quise dejar de hacer esta publicación y que quede en mi blog para el recuerdo. A nosotros la pandemia nos ha detenido, recuerdo que cuando todo este ciclo de cuarentena comenzó todo el mundo se quedó en casa unos cuantos meses y mientras todos descansaban y se quejaban de no hacer nada yo me divertía tejiendo.

Para nosotras las tejedoras siempre hay trabajo porque siempre hay niños naciendo. Lo bueno de todo es que siempre también habrán madres, abuelas, tías, primas, amigas consentidoras que querrán lo mejor para sus seres amados.

To celebrate this day I wanted to make a stop in the sewing to knit and bring you this beautiful dress for a little girl who will soon be born. Although I am still missing the shoes I didn't want to stop making this publication and let it remain on my blog for the memory. For us the pandemic has stopped us, I remember when this whole quarantine cycle started everyone stayed home for a few months and while everyone rested and complained about not doing anything I had fun knitting.

For us knitters there is always work because there are always children being born. The good thing is that there will always be mothers, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, spoiled friends who want the best for their loved ones.

Ese es el caso de mi amiga Johana quien esta mega enamorada de su ahijada Nazaret quien ya está dando pataditas porque quiere nacer y su madrina ya le tiene unas cuantas cosas listas para darle. Entre esas cosas esta esté lindo vestido rosado con blanco, talla de 0 a 3 meses. También le he realizado un gorro de punto fantasía decorado con cinta Gro de 2,5 mm.

That is the case of my friend Johana who is mega in love with her goddaughter Nazareth who is already kicking and screaming because she wants to be born and her godmother already has a few things ready to give her. Among those things is this cute pink and white dress, size 0 to 3 months.

¿Se acuerdan que hace unos días hice unas pinzas para el cabello y estaba diseñado para niñas? Luego de eso la gente me fue encargando otras cosas como cintillos, colas o moñeras tejidos en crochet, más tarde me llego el proyecto de costura de Liam y así fueron llegando más y más trabajos. Ese día yo les contaba que quería trabajar para mantener la mente ocupada en lo que más me gustaba hacer “Mis manualidades”. Pues desde ese día queridas amigas fue como si hubiese decretado que me llegara trabajo, esto no solo ha cumplido con mis expectativas de obtener un ingreso extra para colaborar en casa y atender mis propios gastos sino que me ha hecho sentir bien y un extra que le podemos añadir es que estoy haciendo felices a las demás personas.

Dicen que la palabra tiene poder y lo que atraes con el pensamiento te puede alcanzar. Dios me ha escuchado también y me está ayudando para que cada día me llegue más clientela.

Do you remember that a few days ago I made some hair clips and it was designed for girls? After that people were asking me for other things like headbands, tails or bows crocheted, later I got Liam's sewing project and so more and more jobs were arriving. That day I told them that I wanted to work to keep my mind busy in what I liked to do the most "My crafts". Well since that day dear friends it was as if I had decreed that work would come to me, this has not only fulfilled my expectations of obtaining an extra income to help at home and take care of my own expenses but it has made me feel good and an extra that we can add is that I am making other people happy.
