Many people have the concept that knitting is only for old ladies who no longer have anything to do in their homes but take care of grandchildren and bake bread. Well, I come to tell them that we knitters are as professional as a teacher or an accountant. If I were to give my needles and yarn to a doctor he might say that it is very difficult and I say that his work is also difficult because people's health depends on his hands. Doctors study for many years to obtain a profession and I also studied and continue to do so day after day to keep learning old and new things to keep making my people fall in love.

Many people get a taste for a profession when they grow up, but artisans like me fall in love with the profession since we are small. It is our hands and thinking that come together to create and make beautiful things. I thank life for having been born in a home where I watched my grandmothers transform scraps of fabric into a beautiful quilt, my father mold wood or leather and create unique pieces like ladders and chairs or my mother sew and decorate the altar of the church with beautiful white fabrics and beautiful bouquets of flowers of all colors taken from the field.

I am proud to have become a craftswoman and even though many people downplay its value, I know that my work is worth something too.

I vaguely remember a story of a weaver who sold her products in the street very close to a shopping mall, while she was there she wasted no time and continued weaving the orders that people made for her. One day a very well-dressed lady passed by, one of those that when they speak you know where they come from. The lady asked the weaver if she could weave a dress for her granddaughter who was soon to be born and the weaver very kindly said yes, but when she gave her the price it happened that the elegant lady didn't like it and immediately gave her opinion, _How can that dress cost so much money if it's just a few threads braided with a needle! To me it is worth so much! And the weaver very calmly replied that it was all right, that she would come by on a certain day to deliver the order.

When the elegant lady came by again to pick up her dress, the weaver handed her a very pretty box, immediately the lady opened it and when she saw what was inside she was very angry, _What is this? She asked, and the knitter answered without many words that this was what she was paying for, some needles and thread, and that if she paid in full she would get the rest.

image.png

What does all this story mean, the lady put the price and paid as she wanted, based on her thought that what she was ordering were only threads and needles, but she did not stop to think about the knowledge of this person. Knowledge is everything we have learned to be able to do a job; this is the same with mechanics, technicians, doctors and more.

I'm not saying that if a client comes to me and asks me for a discount, I won't do it, of course I can, but from there to belittling my work is another thing. That's why don't let anyone put a price on your work; in order for them to value your work you must start by doing it first.

image.png

I am very passionate about this subject and I apologize if I bother anyone with this. But in the last few days I have heard a lot of talk about this topic, about the lack of value given to our effort.

But anyway, let's leave the subject and let's move on to what I like most "knitting" and "embroidery".

Today I have knitted some nice shoes for Javielis who came into this world last week and although he is still in the clinic for having been born prematurely, his aunt has kept ordering me nice things to have a whole trousseau for him when he comes out.

image.png

In my quest to always want to do something different and not bore my clients with the same thing, I found a nice tutorial on the internet on how to knit the jasmine stitch. As you may remember I have been wanting to fill my life with flowers this year and as soon as I saw the name of the stitch I immediately stopped, got needle and yarn and started knitting. Although I tried to make the stitch look as good as possible to detail it well I could not achieve it, I think that if I had knitted with a colored yarn it would have been better visibility of the stitch.

I can only tell you that it is beautiful, I recommend it. With this jasmine stitch you can make hats, headbands, blouses and everything you can think of.

image.png

As for the shoe I can tell you that it is very easy to make, it took me only one day to do it because I did it very calmly so that everything would be neat. As for the markers I want to tell you that I am more and more convinced that they are very useful, I didn't use them before and that's why I was knitting and unknitting and every knitter knows that there is nothing worse than this, so I recommend them.

image.png

image.png

And me as always in love with my cross stitch, every time I do something like this I can't stop showing them to you, each embroidery is unique too, none is identical to another, to see the name of the girl inside this beautiful flower garden is what deep down my soul wants, I want to see her grow, get pretty and bloom.

Javielis' aunt has told me so much about the little girl that I have inadvertently connected with her in the distance; while I make the embroidery I can only pray that she will soon be well and come home with her parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles who are waiting anxiously for her.

image.png

image.png

When a client asks me for something with the 3B's (good, nice and cheap), I offer them many options, it all depends on the client's pocket, in this case I try to be flexible and show them various combinations of fabric and embroidery or mixed, as was the case of this cross stitch embroidered buchero and crochet knitted shoes. But I can also offer you headbands, cushions, hats, embroidered covers.

Well friends, I am happy to be able to publish today Tuesday, I know it is not ideal since our community is known for publishing on Mondays but there are days that time is not enough for me. See you next time and remember to smile, it's free.

Watch out for the human traffickers at hivefest. You wont know it until its too late. STAY AWAY! Beware, traffickers can be women or men! They will act nice until they dont. There is human trafficking going on around this type of crypto. I have witnessed it. They literally have attempted my murder and are trying to kill me with V2K and RNM. Five years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism ..... https://ecency.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem if you run into one of them you may want to immediately shoot them in the face. 187, annihilate, asphyxiate, assassinate, behead, bleed, bludgeon, boil, bomb, bone, burn, bury, butcher, cap, casket, choke, chop, club, crucify, crush, curb, decapitate, decimate, deflesh, demolish, destroy, devein, disembowel, dismember, drown, electrocute, eliminate, end, euthanize, eviscerate, execute, explode, exterminate, extinguish, finish, fry, grind, guillotine, gut, hack, hang, hit, ice, implode, incinerate, kill, liquidate, lynch, massacre, maul, microwave, mutilate, neutralize, obliterate, off, pop, poison, punnish, quarter, ruin, shank, shock, shoot, shred, skin, slay, slaughter, smoke, smother, snipe, snuff, squish, stab, strangle, stone, suffocate, suicide, SWAT, swing, terminate, torture, terrorize, whack, waste, wreck. Very well said! It's not just the item itself that the client is actually paying for, it's the time crocheters spent not only in making the project but also the time spent studying, practicing, and perfecting their craft. It may look like it's too easy and quick to create for some crocheters but it took years of experience to get to that expert level. So it's not just the materials that clients need to account for when reacting to the price, it's the skill and talent crocheters put into the project.

We must respect the work of everyone, the man who sews shoes, the farmer who sells his crops, the one who bakes a cake. Everyone deserves respect. But we are also the ones who must respect ourselves first. No matter if a customer leaves, I am sure he will come back with the thought that he should pay what my work is worth.
