Since the year 2022 arrived, I made a resolution: Yes! One of those that are made in December when everything we have experienced is behind us and a new year begins to make up for mistakes, do new things, enjoy life with my family and many other things. This year I made a promise to think more about myself, to dedicate more time to myself, to love myself, to pamper myself, to correct those things I was doing wrong and to move forward.

Desde que llegó el 2022 me puse un propósito ¡Sí! De esos que se hacen en el mes de diciembre cuando ya todo lo que vivimos se queda atrás y comienza un nuevo año para emendar errores, hacer cosas nuevas, disfrutar de la vida junto a la familia y muchas cosas más. Este año hice la promesa de pensar más en mí, en dedicarme más tiempo, quererme, consentirme, corregir esas cosas que estaba haciendo mal y avanzar.

    Based on this I have planned several trips to get out of the daily routine of the house that unintentionally was absorbing me more and more every day. This year I have let go a little of the computer, the sewing machines and I have gone out to visit those places that I haven't been to for a long time, among them is this wonderful place that I am going to tell you about today.

En base a esto he planificado varios viajes para salir de la cotidianidad de la casa que sin querer queriendo me estaba absorbiendo cada día mas. Este año he soltado un poco la computadora, las máquinas de coser y he salido a visitar esos lugares que hace tiempo no iba, entre esos se encuentra este lugar maravilloso del que hoy les vengo a contar.

    It is called Puerto cabello and it is located in the Carabobo State of my beautiful Venezuela. To get to this place we have traveled almost 3 hours from my home in the State of Miranda.

Se llama Puerto cabello y se encuentra ubicado en el Estado Carabobo de mi linda Venezuela. Para llegar a este lugar hemos recorrido casi 3 horas desde mi casa en el Estado Miranda.

    The main reason for this trip was to celebrate my birthday in a different way, away from home, away from so much confinement. But Puerto cabello is not only Isla larga, it has many more beach places to visit such as Borburata village, Patanemo village or the beaches in Quizandal. Of the latter I can tell you a big surprise and that is that this beach is being rebuilt by the government of the State of Carabobo and you can already see its clean areas and great facilities that will serve as a bar, restaurants, bathrooms, dressing rooms and more.

El motivo principal de este paseo fue celebrar mi cumpleaños de una manera distinta, fuera de casa, lejos de tanto encierro. Pero Puerto cabello no solo es Isla larga, sino que tiene muchos más sitios playeros para visitar como por ejemplo pueblo de Borburata, pueblo de Patanemo o las playas en Quizandal. De este último les puedo adelantar una gran sorpresa y es que esa playa está siendo reconstruida por la gobernación del Estado Carabobo y ya se pueden ver sus áreas limpias y grandes instalaciones que servirán de bar, restaurantes, baños, vestidores y más.

    When we arrived at the Port the weather was not very favorable, but then it improved a lot and we were able to take excellent pictures. I loved taking pictures of every detail, it is amazing to see how everything is well taken care of; when you go into those streets you can travel back in time and get excited to see how our ancestors lived.

Al llegar al Puerto el clima no era muy favorable, pero luego mejoró muchísimo y pudimos tomar excelentes fotos. Aun así hicimos el recorrido por el hermoso casco colonial y tomamos muchísimas fotos, me encantó retratar cada detalle, es sorprendente ver como todo está bien cuidado; al adentrarse en esas calles se puede viajar en el tiempo y emocionarse de ver como vivían nuestros antepasados.

    If you look at this picture you can see a bridge and as I am more romantic than Shakespeare I imagined a novel like Romeo and Juliet.

Si se fijan en esta imagen puedes observar un puente y yo como soy más romántica que Shakespeare me imaginaba una novela como Romeo y Julieta.

The Cartagena of Venezuela

    Many people compare Puerto Cabello with the Cartagena of Colombia since it is built in front of the sea. Los Lanceros streets were declared Cultural Heritage of Venezuela since they were built more than 300 years ago. In recent years they have received a thorough restoration and today serve as hotels, inns, restaurants and historical museums.

Muchas personas comparan a Puerto Cabello con la Cartagena de Colombia ya que está construida frente al mar. Las calles Los Lanceros, fueron declaradas Patrimonio Cultural de Venezuela ya que fueron construidas hace más de 300 años. En los últimos años han recibido una minuciosa restauración y hoy en día sirven como hoteles, posadas, restaurantes y museos históricos.

    My husband is very curious and that characteristic of his person helped me to get these precious images that come from a museum that barely had its windows open. There you can see beautiful objects from the colonial era. If there is something I can highlight from everything I saw were the floors, they are original and well preserved; I liked their color, their design and the wear and tear of the years.

Mi esposo es muy curioso y esa característica de su persona me ayudó a conseguir estas preciosas imágenes que provienen de un museo que apenas tenía abiertas sus ventanas. Allí se pueden observar lindos objetos de la época colonial. Si hay algo que puedo destacar de todo lo que vi fueron los pisos, son originales y están bien conservados; me gustó su color, su diseño y el desgaste de los años.

Iglesia San Jorge y el malecón

    The Malecon, where you can see the imposing sea, from there we can see the Fort of San Felipe, also known as the Liberator's Castle, there is the Plaza a los Libertadores and always make great events to entertain the tourist. Nearby we can also visit the Plaza Bolivar, the Cathedral of San Jorge, the Municipal Palace and visit many places of commerce where you can buy the products you need for your stay.

El malecón, dónde se puede observar el imponente mar, desde allí podemos ver el Fortín de San Felipe, también conocido como el Castillo del Libertador; allí se encuentra la Plaza a los Libertadores y siempre realizan grandes eventos para entretener al turista. Muy cerca también podemos recorrer la Plaza Bolívar, la Catedral de San Jorge, El Palacio Municipal y recorrer muchos lugares de comercio donde puedes adquirir los productos que necesites para tu estancia.

    I really enjoyed walking along the Malecon on my way back home, there in the afternoon we had a delicious coffee while we talked with the local stave who told us many stories.

Me gustó mucho caminar por el Malecón de regreso a casa, allí por la tarde nos tomamos un rico café mientras conversábamos con la duela del lugar quien nos contó muchas historias.

    Puerto Cabello is really beautiful, everything is very organized and tourism is growing after many years of crisis in Venezuela. These facilities are part of a sports complex that was recently inaugurated and is a tribute to one of the most beloved athletes in the soccer world.

Puerto Cabello está muy bonito de verdad, todo está muy organizado y el turismo está en pleno crecimiento después de muchos años de crisis en Venezuela. Estas instalaciones forman parte de un complejo deportivo que se inauguró recientemente y es un homenaje a uno de los deportistas más queridos en el mundo futbolístico.

    Although we could not stop to take good pictures of this park, we could see that many people are doing sports activities while the children play in another sector.

Aunque no pudimos detenernos a tomar buenas fotografías sobre este parque si pudimos observar que mucha gente realiza actividades deportivas mientras los niños juegan en otro sector.

    To finish our tour of this weekend, we went to the Thermal Center "Las Trincheras" considered one of the most important hot springs in the world. Here people look for a place to rest and relax while you heal your body. The hot springs have healing properties for bone diseases. Many people tend to believe that this place is only for sick people or for the elderly, but they are very wrong. Another time I will be telling you more about this wonderful and healing place.

Para finalizar nuestro recorrido de este fin de semana, nos fuimos al Centro Termal “las Trincheras” considerado como una de las aguas termales más importantes del mundo. Aquí la gente busca un lugar para descansar y distraerse mientras sanas tu cuerpo. Las aguas termales tienen propiedades curativas para enfermedades de los huesos. Muchos tienden a creer q este espacio es solo para personas enfermas o para ancianos, pero están muy equivocados. En otra oportunidad les estaré contando más sobre este maravilloso y sanador lugar.

    I can only tell you that my family is happy since we went to Puerto cabello and there is nothing that gives me more happiness than seeing them like this. Now I say goodbye to you, I hope you had fun with this tour and that you are encouraged to visit every corner of Venezuela.
