Self-Care Vs Selfishness
Taking care of yourself is completely different than being selfish. As long your self-care does not harm others then it's all fine. Taking care of yourself is very important in today's world where many people might try to take advantage of your innocence and simplicity. Selfish people are those who only think about their own profits and well-being even if their actions might harm others.
- Taking care of yourself: When we take care of ourselves, our focus is to maintain our personal growth and well-being. It is the act when we prioritize our health, and personal benefits without hurting someone. We always have to take care of ourselves for our self-improvement.
- Selfishness: Selfishness is an act where intent and action are self-centered solely for personal benefits and gain even if it might affect others. Selfish people only want to gain benefits for their own anyhow. They will not care about others whether their act will harm them or affect other's rights. They might disrespect others for personal gain. So selfishness is the wrong way for anyone and humanity.
How to know that you are being selfish?
If your actions are solely intended for your own gain and you don’t consider how your actions will harm others then you can find yourself being selfish. If you find yourself deceiving and manipulating to gain personal benefits then you are selfish. If you take advantage of innocent hard-working people for your own work then you are selfish. If someone is in need and you can help them which is easy for you still you are not helping them then you are selfish. Our help might be negligible for us, but for others it could be a big help. Still, I would like to say that Don’t help too much that it will harm you.
How to take care of yourself without falling into Selfishness?
We should maintain a balance between taking care of ourselves and considering the consequences for others. Self-introspection and self-awareness are important to know whether your action harms others or not. You have to be a good listener, so you can understand everyone's point of view and you can act the right way. You have to focus on your well-being being also consider those around you.
Thank you... Have a great day!
