RE: PhotoFeed Around the World - Europe - My Entry

If it had mist, I would have considered myself the luckiest photographer in the world!

TBH - this image is not technically perfect, I was still figuring out how to work the camera, as it was brand new. I CRINGE when I look at the settings that I used. Perhaps mist would have been wasted on me... 🤣

I'm sometimes like that about music I made in the past - but though both have technical aspects I think both music and photography are art forms first and foremost. So if they work fork the artist/and or the listener/observer then they are valid whatever the technical imperfections (and some might say that the technical imperfections are a plus point! Vinyl listeners?... Film photographers?)

I love the light and composition in this image, regardless of settings that I used (trust me, if I didn't it would never be seen in public! ;o). It's all about self expression. It hadn't occurred to me that there was a parallel with musicians and technical imperfections before. Sometimes mistakes and flaws can be very beautiful. :)

Definitely re: mistakes and flaws. Perhaps photography is one of the art forms where that is less the case than in others? In music I think it's quite a big thing. People go to a lot of effort to get just the right amount of noise, non strict timing (feel, groove) and spend loads of money on old vintage analog gear (or on emulating it).

Same with photography. Some 'togs love vintage film cameras, and will spend lots of money on very specific rolls of film. It's super interesting. I'm quite happy with my digital camera for now though. :)
