Childhood memories and family love last a life time | Los recuerdos de la infancia y el cariño familiar quedan para siempre LOH #300

In English
Greetings to my friends in the #LadiesofHive community. In this week’s edition, to celebrate the 300th competition – which invites us to reflect on the questions posed by our dear @nainaztengra – here is my entry:
1. When you were a child, what was your favourite fairy tale and how much did you believe in it?
As a little girl, I remember that every year when my mum bought us our school supplies, I loved choosing the fairy tales – not just my own, but my sisters’ too. To me, they were all special because, in the end, the wicked witch was defeated and the story always ended with the words: “and they lived happily ever after".

I held onto this imagination right through to my teenage years; I would always lose myself in a scenario where I imagined I was the princess waiting to be rescued by the prince.
Unfortunately, as we grow up, we realise that these are fanciful stories; for example, based on my own experiences – such as disappointment, betrayal or deception, whether in a relationship or a friendship – it’s simply asking too much.
However, although we realise that life isn’t all sunshine and roses, there are situations where I believe we should value our imagination and our ability to dream as a step towards making our goals and aspirations a reality.

In particular, allowing myself to accept and live without blaming myself, to accept the reality of unavoidable circumstances – it is important to work on my self-esteem, to reach the pinnacle of my relationship with myself, so that I can then create magic with those around me.
I believe we all need a vivid imagination to learn quickly and easily. Therefore, we must maintain a healthy respect for creative imagination, and nurture and develop it into adulthood.

2. What is something you believed as a child but later discovered wasn’t true?
When I was a little girl, my parents used to put our Christmas presents under the bed, because for a while they told me and my sisters that it was the Baby Jesus who brought us our presents on Christmas Eve and that we had to behave ourselves to be blessed with them.
When my brother revealed the truth to us, I felt very sad, and after that, the magic of the toys was gone.
That is a bittersweet memory, but a very tender one, and a common one in many families. The tradition of placing presents under the bed has a special charm, especially when, as children, we imagined that the Baby Jesus would sneak in on Christmas Eve to leave them there whilst we slept.
Discovering that those magical figures from our childhood are no longer what we thought they were marks the end of a time full of innocence and mystery that we look back on with nostalgia. However, even though the wonder of toys and magic may fade, the memories of those Christmases, the anticipation of Christmas Eve and the warmth of family remain with us forever".

What’s more, as we grew up, the presents went from toys to brand-new clothes, both on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
The tradition of wearing brand-new clothes has a very special meaning in many families, as it symbolised the arrival of something new, the end of a cycle and the excitement of looking our best at celebrations with our loved ones.
Sometimes, it even meant going shopping with Mum or Dad a few days beforehand to choose the perfect outfit, which was already part of the Christmas ritual and made each night feel completely different and unique.

Fairy tales that always end with "they lived happily ever after" is what we always look forward in it no? I didn't get to hear those fairy tales as a kid but as a young adult, still, even I enjoy it a lot. The satisfaction and heavy weight that was lifted after the main characters gets the beautiful ending they deserve just gave me those pretty feelings.
And its Baby Jesus to you not Santa? But yeah, same, same, a lot of kids really believe that it is like magic, gifts will just appear and it will makes everyone excited and happy.
Yes, it’s a pleasant feeling at the end of tales and stories; for me, Santa and the Baby Jesus were one and the same. Thank you very much for visiting and commenting—have a wonderful day,

I too loved that part that in the end always the wicked was defeated and there was a happy ending, and that made me start believing that no matter what in the end everything ends well and it's all happy.
It’s like having that sense of hope—that feeling that lifts our spirits. Thanks for visiting and for your touching comment, my friend; have a wonderful day!

Imagination is a wonderful thing! I can't wait to see what my baby granddaughter is like as she grows up. (she turns 1 year old on the 15th of this month). She already seems to be overflowing with thought processes and figuring things out. Should be exciting for sure!
It's always hard when a childhood belief is shattered. The excitement of the toys, as you mentioned, was magical! Now, I like to focus on the Present of Jesus to the world, and it gladdens my heart to think of that Gift!
Thank you for sharing sis, @cautiva-30! Take care and have a lovely day! !LADY
