Greetings friends of the #LadiesofHive community. In this week’s edition, which invites us to reflect on the questions posed by our dear @irenenavarroart, here is my contribution to the second of them:
Do you like celebrating your own birthday? Or do you prefer celebrating other people’s birthdays? What would you like to do for your next birthday?
I've always enjoyed giving gifts to the people I love, and what better day to do it than on their birthday? Because somehow I find it very touching to be able to give a little something, besides, who doesn't like to be pampered? And what better opportunity than a birthday to make it a special day.
So I take the time to find out what they like or ask them, whether it’s treating them to a meal, a dessert or a present – anything that brings a smile to their faces and shows the surprise and happiness they feel when they receive it.

Siempre me ha gustado hacer regalos a las personas que quiero, y ¿qué mejor día para hacerlo que en su cumpleaños?, porque de alguna forma me parece muy emotivo el poder entregar algún detalle, además a quién no le gusta que le consientan? y que mejor oportunidad que el cumpleaños hacerlo como un día especial.
Entonces me detengo a observar sus gustos o preguntarles, ya sea brindarles una comida, un postre, un obsequio por el cual pueda ver su sonrisa, sorpresa y felicidad que reflejan en sus rostros al recibirlos.
The wonderful event called "life"
In particular, I like to celebrate the marvellous event known as ‘life’, because I believe it is a way of looking back with gratitude for the dreams that have come true and those that are worth pursuing, for the hopes that have been dashed and even those that remain unfulfilled.
When I stop to reflect, I realise that this is yet another year in which to take a firm step forward, full of hope and with faith in our Creator, knowing that every trial, every difficulty and every adversity has a purpose: to bring me closer to God, to shape me and make me a better person every day, so that I may have a future filled with joy, where every shared laugh remains forever in my soul.

En particular, me gusta celebrar el maravilloso evento llamado "vida", porque creo que es una manera de mirar atrás con la gratitud de los sueños cumplidos y de los que merecen el intento, de las ilusiones rotas y hasta las que quedaron en suspenso.

The desire to collect laughter
I believe that celebrating life from that perspective is not only an act of gratitude, but also one of profound maturity and resilience. Looking back and embracing both my successes and my shattered dreams shows that I can understand life with all its light and shadow – both of which are so necessary to give depth and meaning to my story.
For example, if I allow myself to transform adversity into a bridge towards faith, personal and spiritual growth, and to maintain that steadfastness, that hope and the desire to collect laughter in my soul, I can continue to trust that this is the best way to move towards the future.

Pienso que celebrar la vida desde esa perspectiva no solo es un acto de gratitud, sino también de profunda madurez y resiliencia. Mirar hacia atrás y abrazar tanto los éxitos como las ilusiones rotas, demuestra que puedo entender la vida con mis luces y sombras, tan necesarias para dar profundidad y sentido a mí historia.

Such an intimate and meaningful toast
On my next birthday, which is on 10 December, I want to raise a glass to myself, to what I’ve been through and everything that lies ahead, believing that I deserve it – and this isn’t about vanity, but rather an act of self-love and a recognition that I’m still standing strong through the battles I continue to fight in the face of things I cannot change.
In any case, my hope – or the plan I’m allowing myself to envisage for this new year of life, God willing – would be to celebrate it with my family, whether at home or going out for a meal, surrounded by the people who love me most, so as not to miss the chance to be together and happy with them; it’s the perfect plan for such an intimate and meaningful toast.
Un brindis tan íntimo y significativo
En mi próximo cumpleaños, que es el 10 de Diciembre. deseo brindar por mí, por lo que he vivido y todo lo que vendrá, creyendo que lo merezco, y no se trata de vanidad, sino pensando más en un acto de amor propio y de reconocer seguir de pie por las batallas que sigo luchando ante lo que no puedo cambiar.

There is no better place to recharge my batteries than in the warmth of home and the embrace of my family, for I already have what is most precious: the love of my loved ones and a grateful heart. This is what I wish for, and I pray that our Creator will continue to strengthen my faith every day.
Every person we meet on our journey through life is special and important in their own unique way. Self-love is a daily practice – like receiving or giving a small token of kindness – because I know I deserve it, and I’ve felt the same when I’ve offered it to others.
It’s the perfect time to let yourself be pampered by the people you love most.

Our birthdays should be thought of as our milestones where we take pause and assess where are; celebrate the goals achieved, change our approach if needed, or consider it a lesson learned and abandon that goal for another.
