Ludo, The Board Game of my Childhood – Week 159

Greetings friends from Hive and from the @WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community, today I am again participating in the initiative proposed by @galenkp, where he presents us with different themes to choose the burns that catch our attention.

The subject of which I am going to begin to describe is the board game, which nowadays has been disappearing from our homes due to the boom that technology has had through computers and mobile phones, however at home it is still we use this board game called El Ludo.

Ludo was a very traditional board game in Venezuela, which I played a lot since my childhood with my brothers and my parents, this game is about a four-color board, with different squares, where we have four chips for each color that advance until get to go around the board completely, using a dice.

Since he was five years old, my son liked to draw a lot, on one occasion we bought him a ludo, where we started to play, and in this way he got to know this playful game that develops many skills in children's learning. Later, with time, El Ludo was damaged, and he began to draw the board to play together all together, his mother, sister and myself.

My son currently loves this game, so he wanted me to buy this game in a store, but we searched several and it turned out that he did not have it, since nowadays it is not available because children use computers or phones to play. Because of this, my son made his own game, drawing the board on a piece of cardboard, and painting it with different colors.

Once I finish making the game, he invites me to play, I really like this game because we have a good time, where we laugh and enjoy the results of this game, this game allows the family to gather to have fun with this playful game, where the operations of addition of the quantities, the colors are put into practice. It is also excellent for establishing communication with friends and family and promoting teamwork.

This has been my experience with the game of Ludo, despite technological advances we still keep this traditional game in our home, I hope you liked it, see you in a future post, I invite @lisbethseijas and @irvinc to the initiative.

Hey man, I loved reading your post! It brought back some great memories of when I was a kid. Me and my buddies would spend hours playing Ludo at school, trying to beat each other in every game. I totally relate to your son because we had to make our own board more than once when we forgot it at home. Ludo was like a tradition for us back then. Good times, man. Anyways, have a great weekend and I really enjoyed your post!

I love this game! Ludo is a popular board game in Nigeria and it's still in many homes. In fact, there are Ludo game apps on Google Play Store. The game reminds me of my childhood. I used to play it for hours with my siblings. I also remember that anytime our examinations were approaching, the game will suddenly disappear and reappear after our examinations - thanks to my mom.

More importantly, I like the interest your son has picked in the game. Drawing the game displays his level of creativity and innovation. He could be another Bill Gates or Elon Musk in future. Thanks for encouraging and supporting him.

Ludo is a fun and didactic game, although I don't like it very much, hehehe. Unfortunately, board games have been disappearing almost completely precisely because of what you are telling us. Technology has taken over the new generations and we can even find them in video games, but it is never the same. I think it's great that in your home you still keep that tradition. Best regards.

Hello, if they are traditional games that we must recover, from school and home, thanks for your friend comment.
