Probably smart. I have never seen the cards hold their value. Although it has been a couple of years since I looked into splinterlands.
Yeah I have one that was around $300 at the peak and now about $25 lol. But I figure it might be worth earning from surge
Ya I was pissed after maxing out alpha cards and then 6 months later they had 3 new decks with better features and alpha cards were worth shit.
Silly me I also maxed out the beta cards and once again those values went to shit.

so I was offered 100k for my splinterlands collection a few years ago....i didn't exit and sell, ended up selling for 15k.
Lost 85k because i thought splinterlands was going to be a billion dollar project lolol
wow. Sounds like my Beanie Baby experience. It looks like my Alpha cards are the only thing of value. I guess I will sell them and buy surge. I don't play anyway.
i was so deep into the game....sucks but that same collection is worth like 5-10k now...so i did exit at a good time, just not the perfect time
I wasn't able to figure out how to play. I left so many cards on the table by not winning my daily quests at the beginning. I had pretty much only Alpha cards
i went through a time where i was buying loads of packs...got a bunch of gold foil legendary cards from pack opening. real lucky stuff.
It wouldn't be a bad decision.
