The first thing we need to do is to collect the materials. We need:

-Dry corn husks
-A recycled cardboard tube
-Scissors
-Crayon
-Brush
-Raw rice
-White glue
-Silicone
-Recycled skewer sticks
-Piece of cardboard
-Adhesive tape

-Para forrar el tubo de cartón, que será el portalápices, vamos a hacer un tejido con las hojas secas. Cortarmos tiras del mismo tamaño y podemos utilizar un trozo de cinta adhesiva para ayudarnos a sostener el tejido. Debe quedar de la siguiente manera:

-To line the cardboard tube, which will be the pencil holder, we are going to make a fabric with the dried leaves. We cut strips of the same size and we can use a piece of adhesive tape to help us hold the fabric. It should look like this:

Es un tejido sencillo: una tira por encima y una por debajo. Hacemos el tejido lo suficientemente largo para que cubra todo el tubo de cartón.

It is a simple weave: one strip on top and one strip underneath. We make the fabric long enough to cover the entire cardboard tube.

-Una vez que terminamos el tejido, vamos a pegar con silicón al tubo de cartón.

-Once the fabric is finished, we will glue it to the cardboard tube with silicone.

-Doblamos las puntas sobrantes y pegamos von una gotita de silicón.

-Fold the excess ends and glue with a drop of silicone.

Flor decorativa

-Para realizar la flor,vamos a tomar un círculo de cartón, colocamos pegamento blanco y ponemos el arroz sobre el círculo. Dejamos secar y nos quedará el centro de la flor.

Decorative flower

-To make the flower, we are going to take a cardboard circle, apply white glue and put the rice on the circle. Let it dry and we will have the center of the flower.

Hice varios para proyectos futuros, pero necesitaremos 1 solo.

I made several for future projects, but we will need only 1.

-Recortamos petalos de las hojas secas de maíz y vamos a pegar por todo el contorno del círculo para armar una flor.

-Cut petals from the dried corn husks and glue them all around the circle to make a flower.

-Con los palitos de brochetas, havemos una reja que pegaremos al tubo de cartón que forramos con el tejido al principio. Sobre esta reja pegaremos la flor.

-With the skewer sticks, we will make a grid that we will glue to the cardboard tube that we lined with the fabric at the beginning. On this grid we will glue the flower.

-Vamos a dar unas pincaladas con acuarelas para dar un tono más bonito.

-We are going to give some brushstrokes with watercolors to give a nicer tone.

-Por último pegamos un círculo de cartón por la parte inferior del tubo para que los lápices no se salgan. Y listo! Tenemos un bello y decorativo portalápices decorado con hojas secas de maiz.

-Finally, we glue a cardboard circle at the bottom of the tube so that the pencils do not come out. And that's it! We have a beautiful and decorative pencil holder decorated with dried corn husks.
