Weekend log: A coffee under the eclipse
Friday: Even though it was the dreaded Friday the 13th in the month of Halloween, I decided to go with my mother and daughter for a walk in the park. I really enjoy spending time with my daughter, watching her run around and smile. We went for an ice cream for her and of course a coffee for my mother and me.
I stopped by the haberdashery to buy materials for my crafts and then we returned home. It was a quiet day with lots of nice moments.
Saturday: The day started strangely, clouds were filling the sky. On the hill a fire started, the grass was very high and someone set it on fire, which then got out of control.
My mother arrived quickly to tell us that it was the appointed time of the solar eclipse. The sun was over the roof of the flat and we had only a small window ledge to see it. Even so, with an old welding glass I was able to take a picture of it and see the sun being covered in its totality.
In the middle of the eclipse, the fire brigade arrived to put out the fire. The vultures were flying around the halo formed by the sun between the clouds, they seemed confused because the whole atmosphere was sunset and it was only 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Everything felt strange.
I had to wear my sunglasses because, even though we were indoors on the balcony of my flat, the light felt bright and my eyes felt tired.
We took a picture of the sun going down. It was quite a feat between my husband and I to get the shot of the tiny welding glass with the macro lens of the phone. Finally we made it and the coffee arrived, my mum served us coffee.
I had never had coffee under the effects of an eclipse before. So I tried to enjoy it.
The sun began to uncover, the birds that had been gone for a while (I think they went to sleep thinking it was getting dark) reappeared and the eclipse ended.
It was a strange day.
Sunday: Today the day is going well, we have fog and the cold, which we haven't felt for days due to the heat wave, makes the weather pleasant for my taste.
I enjoyed spending these strange October days and of course sharing them with you. For me, an ordinary day can become extraordinary if I am in the company of my family doing what I like.

I think the most precious thing in life is to be able to have fun with your family. Sometimes we neglect them because of the stress of life and the responsibilities of our daily routines. We shouldn't, thank you for reminding us of that. I hope the fire is dealt with before it becomes too big.
Fortunately, the fire was brought under control at the time.

Oh, so you saw the eclipse. I think we couldn't see it from here, though I was listening on the radio that it could be seen from Canary Islands.
It has been a long time since I was able to witness a solar eclipse. The last one, I remember I was at school and they gave us the day off to be at home and share with the family (I think it was more to avoid the responsibility of preventing so many children from seeing the sun directly without protection 🤭).
This day was a bit hectic but I enjoyed it and will always remember it. 😊
