A Bitcoin Halving Splinterlands Promo Not To Be Missed

The Bitcoin Halving is upon us and to commemorate the occasion, Splinterlands is release two limited edition cards - the Legendary Baron Fyatt and the Rare Henchling Enforcer. Both cards are dual-element units with the Halving ability, to keep with the theme.

These cards will only be available for purchase during this event and won't be found in packs. You will still be able to trade the cards on the marketplace once the event ends.

Looking at Baron Fyatt, at level 1, you get decent 6 health but only 1 attack. Not to worry, though, because the main ability is the Halving ability. A level 3 Baron is pretty much the peak efficiency in my opinion with 2 magic attack and the ability to halve and opponent unit's attack before the start of the battle.

The Henchling is also interesting. While it only has 3 health, it has decent 3 speed and 2 attack. At levl 2, its attack gets bumped up to 3 and if you have a summoner boost from General Sloan, it would have a very strong 4 attack along with its Halving ability.

Cost and Prizes

Baron Fyatt will cost 31,250 (31.25k) DEC/Credits which works out to around $31.25. The Henchling Enforcer will cost 3,125 (3.125k) DEC/Credits which is around $3.125. Why the odd price? It's meant to commemorate the new Bitcoin block reward of 3.125 BTC.

You can also cut the price of both cards in half by using vouchers to make your purchase. There's a 4% chance of getting a gold foil and you're guaranteed a gold foil if you buy 25 cards.

You can also stand a chance to win some attractive prizes courtesy of the Splinterlands team. You can earn points for each DEC/Credit spent purchasing the promo cards. Vouchers don't count and every 10,000 (10k) points earned by a player will give you a chance to win something from the prize pool:

There are also special commemorative titles to be had if you buy enough cards. 1-10 on the leaderboard gets you "The Burninator" Legendary Title. 11-60th place get "The Incinerator" Epic Title and last but not least, 61-200 place get "The Scorcher" Rare Title.

My strategy

I'm going to be targeting the Henchling during the promo and hopefully win a prize. Then on the secondary market, I will try to get a Baron but it depends because the price of these rare legendary cards tend to hold up in value. We have to hurry, though. The promo ends in 13 days:
