The Lost world in the Special Region of Yogyakarta

Hello everyone! My all friends around the world... How are you doing? Hopefully you are all doing great. How is your first week? Is it safe? I hope everyone is healthy and always in God's protection. Have you returned to your respective routines? Well, I am back to my routine too. My child has started school and I am also back to being a housewife with all my busy schedules. Busy? No, not really. Hahaha…

Wow! Look! I found this creature in the lost world!!

Yesterday, my husband and I had a small talk. He told me that he could not go home to his hometown of Yogyakarta. It is my husband's hometown. He was born and raised in Yogyakarta. His family is all still there to this day. My husband decided to migrate to Malang and come to live with me in Malang. If I have to go to Yogyakarta, I don't think I can afford it because I do not like the hot weather and it is hard for me to adapt to the environment, so my husband gives in to staying in my hometown. He actually really wanted to go there, meet his parents and siblings there. Apart from that, he really misses the typical delicious food in Yogyakarta that does not exist in Malang.

Just a little throwback, this time I want to share about my last visit to Yogyakarta. We usually go to Yogyakarta once a year, sometimes once every two years. Last holiday we decided not to go home to my husband's hometown of Yogyakarta because it would cost a lot of money to go there considering that our current finances are not sufficient yet. I remember the last time I went to Yogyakarta and I really want to share you a little about it because it is too great not to tell you.

The Lost World Castle

The journey from Malang to Yogyakarta is approximately 5 hours by car via the toll road. Luckily, there are toll roads now because previously when there were no toll roads, it could have taken 8 hours. It is really profitable to be faster now. We left Malang at 8 am and arrived there around 1 pm.

When we got there we stayed at my in-laws' house which was also my husband's house. The location of the house is in the middle of the city, precisely near Malioboro. Malioboro is the most famous place in the city of Yogyakarta. Many tourists walk there to enjoy the view and buy souvenirs or try typical Yogyakarta culinary delights such as Gudeg, Angkringan, Sate Klatak, and Bakpia Pathok. Bakpia Pathok is my favorite food to take home as a souvenir. My husband was very excited there. He could not wait to taste his favorite food while living there that wasn't available in Malang.

The next day we started our first trip to Yogyakarta. We will head to a famous tourist spot called The Lost World Castle. The name alone is very interesting, isn't it? We can't wait to go there. The unique side of this place is that tourists are invited to visit another world that is different from the others through the architecture of the building like a fairy tale castle. Its location at the hillside of Mount Merapi and the beautiful natural panorama around it make this tourist spot even more interesting to visit. I remembered a little about my previous content in Malang, in Kalimeri, the building was also styled like a castle and was very majestic. Let’s take a look!

There is dinosaur! I do not really know what it is called and I have conquered it!

When I entered this place I felt amazed. I really felt like I was in another world and there were buildings like castles and fairy tales. The surprising thing was that I saw there were several dinosaurs inside. Not only that, there are also large pirate-like sailboats.

The funny thing is that there I saw a small horse or some kind of donkey. I took the initiative to ride my child there. Unfortunately, it turned out my son did not want to and he whined and wanted to get off the horse. In the end, like it or not, my husband got on the horse and it was his first time riding a horse. Hahaha...

It doesn not stop there. We started touring the area of that amazing place. We didn't feel tired and time did not feel because it was so fun. The place took us to another world we never visited. There are other spots there like overseas, specifically in England because there is a British flag there. Maybe most fairy tales come from England, is that true? We could feel the vibes there.

There I also found a very beautiful tree. If I'm not mistaken, it's a Sakura tree like in Japan.

When we were there we could not stop taking photos because there were so many aesthetic and cool photo spots. After a few steps we stopped and wanted to take a photo. We really enjoyed traveling here because our minds only focused here and could not be distracted by other things.

Well, I mentioned Malioboro Street, right? Which is located in the center of Yogyakarta city. Here are some photos that I could take. There were also many horse-drawn carriages or what we called "andong". That was really exciting, wasn’t it? Little kids would definitely love riding it and going around the city while looking at the crowds.
