JUST ANOTHER WEEK

Wow! It's going to be one hell of a crazy week. I remember vividly the day my phone went bad, I was very uncomfortable. At that point, I realized I had so many important things I could and needed to do with my phone - I guess that's how it always is(having something and not realising it's usefulness until you go without it).

If I had to go without any gadget for a week, I'll probably immerse myself in a little of this and that. I'm not so much of a phone freak, so I'll do just fine.

Below are a few things I'll definitely do;

qjrE4yyfw5pJD9LKQ1BG3NbSyKTowh8wnMyt99dddua4U41rZmpEeZf2o8BwWGgNBRCrCf9Rmzna4biVLCpU9f9uPbkBv73RzRynuaVKDqeD3ohUhbFD1znr (1).png

Read.

I've always mentioned that am a sucker for books. Especially novels. I do not own as many hardcopies as I used to because I now read online but that notwithstanding, I'll get a few nice ones and dig into them.

qjrE4yyfw5pJD9LKQ1BG3NbSyKTowh8wnMyt99dddua4U41rZmpEeZf2o8BwWGgNBRCrCf9Rmzna4biVLCpU9f9uPbkBv73RzRynuaVKDqeD3ohUhbFD1znr (1).png

Improve my communication skill.

With everything digital, some of us have lost our ability to communicate verbally. We've lost our social skills. All our attention is focused on the internet. Physical interaction now seems like a task. We cannot hold good conversations or listen attentively. Our talks are in monotones. So, I'll take the time to improve myself in that regard even tho I am hardly interested in one-on-one chat.

Writing/Journalling/Content Creation.

A week affords me the opportunity to write as many things as come to mind. Without procrastinating. And because I am a Hiver, it leaves me ample time to create nice contents that I'll dish back to back as soon as I have access to my device.

Declutter

With as much as a week free time in my hands, I'll tend to my personal needs; declutter my personal space and probably redecorate/try out new designs. I'll also sort out my paper clutter (I have an assortment of those) and try out new routines are well.

Self care/Personal development.

This is something I do a lot. Almost every other day but maybe, I could do it all over. I'll probably make a new to-do list, create my schedule for the coming weeks, try out a new recipe(I've watched so many meal recipes online which I've never tried. If I could get my gadgets off my hands, I'll definitely give them a try), and generally be useful to myself.
I'll revisit my goals and make adjustments where necessary. Probably add a few and come up with new strategies-if need be- to achieve the ones I haven't.

Do Nothing.

Yeah! Your read that right. I'll do absolutely nothing. When my phone went bad earlier in the year, I developed a habit; one in which I sit/lie down, meditate, take deep relaxing breath, just stay still in a dark noiseless room and sort of have a mental declutter. It's quite soothing. Unfortunately, I'm gradually losing the habit(as I don't do it as much as I used to) because I got my phone fixed. A week without my phone will be a good time to revive the spirit and generally get to know myself better.

Tend to my garden.

I recently started planting a few things in the little space at the back of the house. I've been able to grow pepper, groundnut, plantain, coconut and a few vegetables. So, with one week, I could put in a little time and energy into it. Probably plant banana too.

Finance Sort.

I'll revisit my records, track my income and expenses, cut down unnecessary budgets/to-buy items and generally put my resources in order.

qjrE4yyfw5pJD9LKQ1BG3NbSyKTowh8wnMyt99dddua4U41rZmpEeZf2o8BwWGgNBRCrCf9Rmzna4biVLCpU9f9uPbkBv73RzRynuaVKDqeD3ohUhbFD1znr (1).png

Learn something. Anything.

I've been on a love-hate relationship with my piano. Maybe I'll dust it and try again. I like chess alot and I don't know zilch about makeup. Hopefully, I try out either or both of them, learn the basics and see if I can go through with them.

You can see how crazy this list is. Our gadgets have been saving lives. Life without my phone wouldn't be funny.
I've written a bunch of things up there which readily came to mind but 'it's one thing to say something and another to act on them'. I may need to put down my phone for a week inorder to tell accurately how I can cope without it.
But all of those things listed above are ''a must do'' for me. Mostly, it'll feel like just another week and besides, it's's just a week so, I'll do just fine.

Thanks for reading.
Goodday!

I think you're a good writer. Your writing is so easy to read and relate to.
Hmmm.... Reading your post above. It seems your attachment to your phone has stopped you from doing a lot of things. You're now making me think that it will be a good thing for you to lose your phone because you really need to look at these areas you mentioned and if your phone isn't allowing you the time for them then 🤷..

But as much as you say you would do this many other things. I'm sure you'll definitely miss not having your phone around to help you whilst you engage in other things.

Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed reading your post

Hmm... when you think about it, our fixation on our phones does interfere with other areas of our lives, and if we are forced to be separate from them, we might have enough reason to pay more attention.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Wow, I love the fact that you say you will use your time without phone to write, so you can come back online to dish out your contents.Thats nice dear.
