THE FAULT IN OUR STARS // BOOK REVIEW

I don't know how I got to know of this read but I think I was surfing through books and this one caught my attention. I immediately knew I had to get my hands on it.

FIRST LOOK.
I don't own a hardcopy of this book but the very first time I saw the book title, I had thought it'll be something very romantic. Probably two love birds hitting a blocked road in their relationship. But I guess it follows that line somehow.

STORYLINE
The author tells the story of a 16 year old girl, Hazel Grace who was diagnosed with cancer and has lived with it for three years, and a 17 year old boy, Augustus Waters(Gus) who once had a tumor in his leg and is on a remission. Ever since Hazel was diagnosed with cancer, she had taken in to herself, always reading and re-reading her favorite book "An imperial affliction' but her mother constantly forced her to attend a support group(a group where survivors gather to share their stories, talk about death and generally, just open up).

It was on one of the days at the bland group that she met Augustus, an optimistic and attractive boy and they fell in love. On one of the days, they both travel to meet the author of her favorite book in Amsterdam bacause Hazel wanted to know what happened finally to the characters in the book but while there, she found out that life in general isn't so easy and swallowing a pill is not as easy as administering it

MY THOUGHTS
In course of reading this book, I stopped so many times to ingest certain words said. The first time was when they were in the heart of Jesus in support group and Gus said, "I'm on a rollercoaster that only goes up, my friend". It made me think of many things plus I felt like I was getting so much inspiration from someone who supposedly should be the one clamouring for it. This book will lot your spirit, it will shatter you, you'll bawl your eyes out, you'll giggle, it'll keep you wanting more. For a book that talks of cancer, it addresses the issue like it's something minor but most importantly, it'll teach you to love.and live. And trust me, this isn't one of those books which is easily predictable.
I really did not like how the story ended but then, if it had ended the way I expected, it would have taken the fun out of it. This book will touch you in the weirdest of places. One book you'll never stop reading nor ever get tired of.

RATING.
This is one of the best books I have read and I am still on the journey of discovering more like it. Now, because this book possesses everything a good book should and it's something I can read so many times over, I'll be giving it a 9/10.

IN CONCLUSION
You want something realistic and captivating, then this is your best bet.
