Spicy Hake Fish preparation and Preservation Method.

Hi friends.
It feels great to finally make my first blog here and to share with us some of my cooking skills,recipes, spices and all of the healthy meals we eat in our home.

Cooking doesn't have to be laborious or too expensive to be nutritious and if you have been struggling about how to find a balance with of budget with the things you desire to eat at your table, we can learn a few things about cooking cheap, healthy and get spicy meals to your taste.

During the festive season break a couple of friends invited me to their homes to assist them with cooking and also to share in the joy and celebration of the season.
We have cooked various delicacies from jollof rice to beef pepper soup and this hake fish snack to go along. Everyone enjoyed the meals I prepared hence I decided to share with hive the processes I used to prepare our meals

Ingredients needed to prepare these were

  • The fish
  • Flour
  • Seasoning
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt

Preparing Have fish like this is both a method of preservation and for consumption.

First step

Clean up the fish in salt water and allow it to drain and sun dry properly

It is important to Sun dry the fish properly in order to achieve this round shapes after frying.

The last time I prepared this without sun-drying the fish broke up into several tiny pieces in the oil.
Sun drying is a vital part that should not be ignored.

Better still an oven may be handy in removing excess water as well.

Second step

In a bowl add the flour, dissolve seasoning in a very little warm water and add to the flour.

A little bit of powdered pepper can be added as desired.

Next Step

Fold each of the fish with a toothpick stick and dip them in the flour mixture

Frying process.

A deep frying process is recommended. Before putting the fish add a little piece of onion into the oil, this adds some aroma to the fish being fried.

Fried Hake fish can stay up to a week if left in a ventilated container and not exposed fo moisture.

Frying methods depends on individual, some desired this very dried and crispy while other will fry them moderately. These can be eaten as snacks or with any kinds of meals.
