Tax Isn't About Revenue, It's A Propaganda Tool

avatar

Hey Jesstaxpayers

I'm pretty biased when it comes to taxes, as most people I hate them but a few people, I avoid them as much as possible. Paying your taxes is one of the biggest marketing schemes every treated, well that and that diamonds are valuable but that I won't go into in this post.

We all pay our taxes as we are told that it is used to fund society, pay for the police, run the government, pay for roads and civil works and it's our debt as being part of society.

I always thought this was a load of shit, and now we can see that it is, yes part of it is true, some of your money does go into these programs, in what is probably the worlds most inefficient way to do anything of value.

taxrevenue.png

That someone is paying and it's you

If your taxes were needed, why would we need to deficit spend, surly if there's something wrong here that years ago people didn't have an income tax, or property tax or all these other taxes and guess what? The society worked, but somewhere along the line they kept moving the goalposts, governments become bigger and taxes became more complex.

We've now created a world where people all over the country look to government and say take more of our money (through tax or inflation), so you can give some of us free stuff, and a small subset gets paid to give us free stuff, that we paid for actually.

It's so weird, and yet, humans never cease to amaze me. When I speak to people about this, they feel it's their duty, yet always complain about how ineffective governments are, so why do you keep paying? This is the definition of instant, doing the same thing every year and expecting a different result.

Keep it simple

I always say a measure of a prosperous society and good government is one where there is little to no government and people live on what they earn and create. It's a simple incentive structure, and it's worked for thousands of years, but governments have corrupted us to think it's not good enough.

Tax systems are grossly inefficient

Most people are sold the idea that tax is the redistribution fo wealth, taking from the rich and giving to the poor, when in fact its the other way around. This is snake oil salesmen taken to an entirely new level.

Firstly, they tax all of us through various means + through inflation, so no one is exempt.

Secondly, inflation is then either pumped into asset prices or redistricted through government contracts and funnelled to people with the closest ties to the government.

Thirdly the rest of the inflation is pushed to banks and given to the asset holders through various financial plumbing products.

This effectively makes the rich, richer.

Tax laws benefit the rich

Then companies with huge tax obligations would rather pay lawyers and accountants a percentage of their income to avoid paying taxes, so these rich keep more of their funds.

While individuals and small business owners who don't know how tax laws work or can't afford to get access to these tax loopholes constantly overpay, nailing the small fry and rewarding the big fish.

Taxes reduce production and GDP

We are often told that taxes need to be used to pay for government and boost the economy, but when around 10 cents of every dollar only makes it to the actual production of goods and services, with the level of corruption as well as not having the profit inventive to drive down prices, you see gross inefficiencies in the economy that cost the world trillions.

Stockholm syndrome of tax

How fitting that I used this term, from a country that pays so much tax, but speaking to people about this, they often say you know the taxes go towards good. We get free this and that, but they can't see the unintended costs.

They can't see that they robbed someone of the ability to enter the market and create a better service; they only see what's in front of them. We are so wrapped up in these lies we cannot see the truth, that is so obvious.

However, since we have had to pay these taxes, we don't want to see ourselves as the idiot, so we advocate it, we fight to protect it, we want to feel as if we did the right thing.

I firmly believe people would know better what to do with the wealth they earned than any government could, self-interest trumps any government policy and the self-interest of society can be put to way more efficient use than governments self-interest trumping all.

Crypto should not be taxed

I agree if you want to use fiat you should play by government rules, but if I want to use crypto, I should not have to play by their rules. If I want to live, earn, pay in crypto and reduce my tax burden, it should be my human and constitutional right to do so and not be forced into oppressive systems.

Whatever happened to the voluntary exchange of funds? Can't we get back to that?

Thats how they get you and also if instead of owning things yourself you started a business and allowed it to own your home and other things you would get so much less tax, a bit complicated but well worth it

People don’t see how tax and inflation hurts them, they only want to see the good! It’s like being in abusive relationship and you refuse to leave because sometimes they do nice things but most days the treat you bad

no, i saw that shit moving up the charts but didn't really look into it. i bought some curve the other day and made some bucks, but these gas fees on uniswap are now unmanageable. have you tried loopring, what do you think?

my son is looking into some yfi-curve yeild farming, but highly unsure about it

i'm ok, thanks, can't complain... although i kinda do, goddamn trump trying to drive us all insane

No I have not heard of loop ring could you pop me a link?

I know right, I have started to curb my uniswapping for now, I see Cosmos is now entering the frame with minting ERC-20's on their chain so the gas fees won't be so bad there, waiting to see when other chains set up their wrapped or representative smart contracts and then we are sure going to kick off the yield farm race

I also think so government should not butt in crypto and let the people be free if they want to use crypto

I don't see the point I controlling people or venting them from there chose of finance

Absolutely, if the person wants to "risk" his wealth in crypto that's his or her choice to do so, if they want to use fiat, they can play by the rules of that government!

Some alts like XRP will do whatever the regulators want and others will continue to be about freedom and that's fine, let the market and users decide what they want to use

Lol diamonds is a funny one, I learned about that several years ago. Glad we aren’t showy assholes.

Fiat taxes on crypto is such a sham lol take my money that I earned on the webs that have no boarders just because I live in one border of geographical location? Crazy.

The biggest pain is that many of us work jobs that get a paycheck so we can’t avoid the taxes. I think it’s why there’s huge pushes for college educations and jobs with that. Those ones aren’t going out there and fixing pipes for cash they don’t claim. They are doing it for a check that gets cut severely.

LOL I only learned it this year, in South Africa diamonds were huge because we had massive deposits. I know people who literally used to pick that shit up.

One guy we know we call him "Almost Boss" because he picked up a huge diamond and sold it to a guy for $1800 and he went on to sell it for millions because he had the papers and all that, my cousin works in the mines and shes polishes diamonds so I get all the stories

I know right? Like I can't even get my hand around it, so I sell crypto for something that's debasing and then still have to pay tax on it? nah I'll hold the crypto. If ever I need the cash, i'd sell it P2P on localbitcoins or just get a loan against it.

That is such a good point I didn't even think of that, I wonder if you could register lets say cmplxty company apply for the job and then get the company to pay your company like freelancers do? Would they even go for it? I say keep doing cash payments they don't need to know what we do
