Stubbornness, a habit that almost cost me my life.

Share with us that one habit that got you into trouble several times as a kid but you couldn't just get rid of it easily. Tell us one of the experiences this habit landed you in, and let's know how you got rid of that habit.

Take a good look at my thumbnail image, do you understand the picture? Hahaha, i know you won't. Get your glass of coffee ready while take you through the strongest habit i found so hard to get rid of and the problems it landed me to. Now, let's go back at the image above. The mark you are seeing there is a fire burn and it's in two places. The other one is very close to my bom bom, so i couldn't snap it. But the one you are seeing here is on my laps. I didn't actually know what happened to me until i asked my senior siblings. And when i asked, they started laughing at me and told me it wast my stubbornness that landed me into fire. I almost lost my life because it happened when i was just 3 years old. According to them, it was during harmattan. You know, during those days, once it's harmattan season, they always burn dirty clothes and dry leaves in the morning. People will gather around the fire to get themselves warmed up. When the fire quenched a little, the started jumping from one end of it to the other. I wanted to follow them but they asked me not to since am still little then. Guess what? Because i have determined to do that not minding the instructions from my seniors, immediately their mind went off, i jumped and landed at the center of the fire. My clothes got burnt including myself. Though i was rescued immediately but the burn was so severe and till today, they mark is still there. Imagine what stubbornness costs me.

At my middle twenties, this habit of stubbornness nearly took my life and that's when i said no to stubbornness till date. Back then, i was in Aba Abia state Nigeria. I was leaving at Isi Ala Ngwa then with a friend. I normally go to a nearby market known as Nkwo Okpu for food stuffs. My friend warned me not to enter taxi or Keke whenever am going or coming back from the market because most people with the above mentioned vehicle's are into human trafficking, organ harvest or wayoo as we normally call them. But i didn't listen. I decided to do what is my mind despite his warnings. One day, i went for weekend shopping and when i came out, i joined a taxi. I was actually the last person to enter not knowing it was one chance people. On our way, one boy at the back started crying and shaking. When they asked him what is his problem, he told them that he is running away from his boss. That he served him for years. But the man got into car accident and died. So, they broke into the man's house and went away with Ghana must go of $$$$$$. But he needed to perform some rituals so that he will be able to make use of the money.

Two passengers suggested that he should be handed over to the police while others said no. Instead they should help him perform the rituals and share the money. Me wey like money i supported the idea. Guess what, i couldn't recognize myself again, they took me to their chamber, took all the money that was with me, charmed me until i delivered the last money in my account. Honestly, they almost killed me. But i was saved by one of them. Since then, am no more stubborn. I now take advice and always careful with whatever things am doing. Stubbornness was actually my habits from infacy. Apart from the two problems i just mentioned, this habit has made me to receive beatings from my parents and seniors, I have been starved, punished, etc. But i learned my lessons in a hard way. And that's how i get rid of it till today because i still need to enjoy this life to the fullest.

As a kid, I was pretty easy-going, but my brother was a different story. He had a stubborn streak that landed him in trouble more times than I can count.

Wow, more than the fire incident, the one where you got involved with those traffickers truly scared me. Thank God, it is only money that they took from you. Say NO to stubbornness. lol

Stubbornness never pays and it good to see you learn from the mistakes and adjust.
