Hispaliterario 11 - El nacimiento de la colonización española de América (Esp/Eng)

La Princesa Sofía ha pasado cerca de 25 años de su vida en palacio y siendo hija única del Rey de Santiago, la tradición exige que se case y tenga hijos que harán que la presencia de los santiagueros continúe en el trono. Sin embargo, siendo una verdadera amante de la naturaleza, la princesa creía que su propósito en la vida estaba más allá de los muros del palacio.

La cultura, la comida y las tradiciones de la gente del reino de Aragón ya no son buenas a los ojos de la princesa, porque su mente se vuelve hacia lo que hay más allá de los muros del reino. Diego, su amigo de la infancia, fue la única persona a la que la Princesa Sofía le contó sus más profundos deseos, desde que eran niños. Aunque lo sabe desde hace mucho tiempo, la presión parece estar presente, pues la mayoría de sus conversaciones con la Princesa Sofía giran en torno al deseo de irse de Aragón.

"Pero mi princesa, sabes cuán fuerte es tu deseo de la verdad". Diego detuvo a la princesa mientras aún le contaba sobre el sueño que tuvo, donde se encontraba en un reino lejano. "Es por eso que eres mi mejor amigo, Diego. Realmente necesito tu ayuda, y sé que eres el único que puede hacer que esto suceda sin que nadie más se entere". La hija del rey le respondió.

Princesa siempre ayuda a Diego. La primera vez que la princesa le pide un favor, Diego cree que tiene derecho a que la princesa obtenga lo que ella pide, como lo haría él si fuera él quien lo necesitara. Siendo hijo de un pescador, Diego aprendió a navegar de su padre.

En la víspera del cumpleaños número 26 de la Princesa Sofía, Diego pensó que el mejor regalo de cumpleaños para Sofía la ayudaría a cumplir sus sueños y deseos a largo plazo. Alrededor de las 10:30 p. m., Diego le envió un mensaje de texto a Sofía pidiéndole que se encontraran con él en su lugar de reunión habitual. Cuando llegan allí, la princesa Sofía se da cuenta de que Diego ha hecho arreglos para que viajen más allá de los muros del reino. Sofía se asustó al principio, pero como siempre fue lo que ella quiso, accedió. Los dos salieron y caminaron por el suelo donde no había nadie.

Ambos navegaron por el Océano Atlántico durante varios días y finalmente llegaron a lo que parecía ser un lugar diferente en Aragón. El idioma, la forma de vida de la gente y la forma de vestir parecen ser diferentes y únicos. Sofía y Diego se sintieron satisfechos, ya que se instalaron en su nuevo lugar y comenzaron a vivir con los lugareños.

Al enterarse de la caída de la princesa Sofía, Santiago de Aragón perdió el control y ordenó la detención del padre de Diego, hasta que se encontró a la princesa. También ordenó que se sellara la entrada al palacio. Pero todos esos esfuerzos fueron inútiles. Cuando recibió un mensaje de un pescador de que había visto a Diego navegar con la hija del rey, el rey Santiago envió a sus mejores marineros, junto con el explorador italiano Cristóbal Colón, a visitar al rey.

Bajo el liderazgo de Cristóbal Colón, la tripulación navegó a diferentes partes del Océano Atlántico. Las piezas que dirigió Colón finalmente llegaron a América, donde Sofía y Diego se establecieron y comenzaron su vida. Sin perder mucho tiempo, comenzaron a buscar a la princesa en medio de la residencia. Fue una tarea muy difícil pero finalmente lograron encontrar a la princesa en Diego. Los capturaron a ambos y regresaron a Aragón en barco.

Aunque la princesa Sofía le hizo ver a Diego un pequeño castigo del rey por ayudar a la fuga de la princesa, le hizo entender al rey que fue idea suya. Por lo tanto, Diego y su padre fueron perdonados.

Durante la fallida ceremonia de regreso, Cristóbal Colón le pidió al rey que lo recompensara por sus servicios liberando a unos 200 soldados de su ejército para que lo acompañaran de regreso a América, porque querría saber más sobre la tierra. El rey Santiago no tuvo más remedio que conceder a Colón su deseo. Y así nacía el Imperio Español de América

Princess Sofia has spent about 25 years of her life in the palace and being the only child of King Santiago, tradition requires her to get married and bore children that would ensure the continuous presence of the Santiago clan on the throne. However, being a good admirer of nature, the princess believes her purpose in life lies beyond the walls of the palace.

The culture, food, and tradition of the people of the kingdom of Aragon were no longer attractive to the princess, as her mind revolved around what lies beyond the walls of the kingdom. Diego, her childhood friend is the only person Princess Sofia has told of her deepest desire, right from when they were still children. Though he has been aware for long, the pressure seems to be much now, as most of his conversation with Princess Sofia has all been about desire to leave Aragon.

"But my princess, you know how hard your desire is from actualisation." Diego interrupted the princess as she was still telling her about the dream she had, where she found herself in a far away kingdom. "That's why you are my best friend, Diego. I really need your help, and I know that you are the only one that can make this happen without any other ear hearing about it." The princess responded.

The Princess has always been so helpful to Diego. For the first time the princess is asking him for a favour, and Diego feels he's entitled to making sure the princess gets what she asks, as she would do, if he was the person in need. Being a son of a fisherman, Diego learnt how to sail the ship from his father.

The eve to Princess Sofia's 26rh birthday, Diego felt the best birthday gift for Sofia is assisting her actualise her long-term dream and desire. At about 10:30 pm, Diego sent a letter to Sofia telling her to meet him at the usual place they often meet up. On getting there, Princess Sofia realised that Diego had made provisions for them to embark on a journey beyond the walls of the kingdom. Sofia was scared at first, but since it has always been what she wanted, she concurred. And the two left for the journey to a no-man's land.

They both sailed through the Atlantic Ocean for days, and finally arrived at a place that seemed different from Aragon. The language, the way of life of the people and way of dressing seems different and unique. Sofia and Diego felt fulfilled, as they settled in the new place they saw and started living with the people of the place.

On hearing the disappearance of princess Sofia, kind Santiago of Aragon lost control and ordered that Diego's father be arrested, till the princess is found. He also ordered the total lockdown of the Kingdom I search for the princess. But all efforts were of no avail. On getting the news from a fisherman that he saw Diego sailing with the princess, king Santiago sent his best sailors, together with an Italian explorer Christopher Columbus, who's on a visitation to the king.

Under the leadership of Christopher Columbus, the sailors sailed at various directions through the Atlantic Ocean. The fragment led by Columbus finally arrived in America, where Sofia and Diego settled and started up life. Without wasting much time, they commenced searching for the princess in the midst of the habitats. It was quite a tough job but they finally succeeded in finding the princess and Diego. They arrested the two and sailed back to Aragon.

While Princess Sofia made sure Diego saw little punishment from the king for aiding the escape of the princess, she made the king understand that it was her idea. So Diego and his father were pardoned.

During the celebration of the princess's return, Christopher Columbus asked that the king repay him his favour by allocating about 200 soldiers from his army to accompany him back to America, as he would like to explore more about the land. King Santiago had no option than to grant Columbus his wish. And with that, the Spanish colonisation of America was birthed
