Stranded on Deserted Island

avatar

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring 3 things, what would they be and why?
Ano kaya ang dadalhin nyo~ Yung magkakasya naman sa bag

The instance of getting stranded on a deserted island had a high probability once there's an accident happens and you survive like a plane crash or a ship sinking but those are too brutal let's think those chill ones like I decide to visit a deserted Island but I was stranded. In that situation, before I hop onto that Island, I will be prepared three important things in my bag, it includes a bottle of water, a lighter, and lastly, a machete sounds weird right let me explain why I choose those items.

A Bottle of Water

One liter of mineral water would help me to survive at least 3 days on a deserted Island, we all know that our body can live without food but can't live without water for days, a sip of water would help to hydrate my body. On a deserted Island where seeing a water source is difficult, it's better to bring your water also for safety.

Another reason is that if I can find a source of water, I am not sure if it is drinkable since there's a huge possibility that the water is contaminated with bacteria like legionella, that's why the next item I brought will be helpful to this problem.

A Lighter

We all know the importance of fire, lighter is a mechanical tool that can produce fire, it is hard to make fire from scratch, it requires skills and patience but in a single click of a lighter a big fire can be produced.

With fire I can do anything, I can create a campfire at night since the deserted Island is very cold at night, a fire can also help to scare wild animals around and also the most important thing is, it can cook food that can be found in surrounding.

About the topic of dirty water, a fire is very helpful in this dilemma, it's better to filter the water first using a clean cloth or your shirt to remove the dirt on the water after that use fire to boil the water so that it's safer to drink.

A Machete

If I'm living in a rural and planning to do Island hopping I think bringing a machete is impossible but the best choice is to bring that item where there's no inspection so that it's safer to bring. Maybe you're wondering why I will bring a machete in my bag, Will I look for a fight on that Island?

No guys, a machete had lots of functions with its sharp blade, if I'm stranded on a deserted Island, I need shelter to stay, food to eat, and making other tools to help me survive, and using a machete I can cut off materials that can be used to build those things.

Another purpose of the machete is for security, like I've said, there are a lot of wild animals around the deserted islands that's why having a machete is better to defend myself once I'm in danger.

That would be my entry for the May blogging contest, if you wish to join the said contest you can visit this link to know the mechanics and choose different topics you can write.

When you mentioned Machete, my initial thoughts was -- to fight off wild beasts. Yes, quite useful! 😂 But as you said, it has many uses.

Anyways, I had fun reading this. Made me curious what I would bring too if I ever get stuck on an island.

You're very practical! You only choose the things that can help you to survive. If I am also trapped on the island, I will also bring the same thing. Nice write up :))

It's better to choose those can help in long term rather than consumable in short period of time, I am excited to see your entry sir.
