Centralization is good, for someone to be in charge of all the affairs going on, but one person can also influence the decision of many others,
Where the decision that one person makes will affect millions of people.
But a decentralized system is an open system where one can be free to do whatever they want, where one person's decision can't affect the rest. But one still I don't really like is the privacy issue. for example HIVE everyone will know the transaction you have made from day one, they should be a way that privacy should be private.

Layer 2 solutions can be built to provide privacy by utilizing encryption. If by privacy you mean only the fund transfers, people can create separate Hive wallets designated for this purpose and not connected to their social accounts.
