DOES GOD ALLOW POLYGAMY// MCGI TOPIC REVIEW
Polygamy was never God's first type of marriage, even though it happened in the old testament where a man marries more than one wife. God used some men in the bible who married more than one wife, people live David, Jacob and David. The family of those people usually fight which brought in hatred in the family.
In the beginning God wanted one man to one woman in a marriage, just like he gave Adam only one wife. The bible teaches us that when a man and a woman marries they become one. When Jesus Christ came to this world he also condemns polygamy, because of the problems it came with in the family. So, even though polygamy was allowed in the past, God’s true desire is one husband and one wife living in love and faithfulness.
Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:6 “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh.”
