What would you do if you saw the one you loved murdered so gruesomely?

When I saw this animation movie's trailer I was hungry for more. You know how much of an animation freak I am, I couldn't sleep, it felt like something I'll certainly enjoy watching and as always, my movie boy came to the rescue.

He just came back from visiting a friend and he was like, "hey bro, I got something you'll like" and he wasn't wrong it was certainly the type of thing I'll like but then, I'm not one to get carried away by all the hype, I always love to see things for myself, experience all the action firsthand.

When I started, I certainly didn't know what to expect, especially after watching something like Love, death and robots, my expectations has been held up high. Well, what can I say, was it a good series?, Or wasn't it? Well, you'll have to stay to find out.

This is an action Tv series titled Arcane: League of Legends. It was created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, Produced by Fortiche for Riot Games and distributed by Netflix. The series currently has only one season, 9 episodesand there's doubt on the day the other season would be released. Each episode runs for 39-44 minutes

It was released on November 2021, Directed by
Pascal Charrue and Arnaud Delord. It stars the voices of Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell, Reed Shannon, Kevin Alejandro,Jason Spisak, Harry Lloyd, Toks Olagundoye, JB Blanc, Mick Wingert, Katie Leung.

It focuses on two sisters Vi and Jinx who lose their parents to war between the Piltover and the undercity. It goes on to show how they grow to become opposing sides of a continuing fight for power. The series is set in Riot's League of Legends fictional universe, and received a lot of praises.

It is considered to be one of Netflix's fastest growing series and has received a lot of buzz from people who haven't played the game. It has received a number of awards and Rotten Tomatoes rates it a 100%, shows that it's worthy to be viewed.

Some of my favorite characters are;

Violet (Vi)

At first I actually thought she was a guy at the beginning because of how outstanding she was. Very eager to make a point and see the ones who got her family murdered perish. She's a character driven by anger, rage, pain and hopeless revenge.

This protagonist is a strong one who always ends up standing on her feet no matter what is thrown at her. She'd witnessed a lot, and ended up being instrumental in creating Jinx

Powder / Jinx

Omg, you can call me crazy but this is actually my most cherished character. A little girl who'd witnessed her family murdered except for her elder sister. She'd done everything possible to prove herself, to come out of her sister's shadow and prove herself worthy.

But she ends up falling short every time, and always ends up blowing things up. She gets it hard and that sweet little girl ends up becoming one of the most craziest sub-villain ever created. She takes me by surprise everytime as much as the others and she's never ever predictable. I think she was one of the best creations by the writer of this wonderful series.

Vander

Strong willed and certainly the father figure. He'd been through a lot just to give voice to the undercity and ends up making lots of enemies. He doesn't mind because he's actually a force to be reckoned with.
But then he falls in love with the kids he rescued and would do anything to protect them even if it means sacrificing himself.

Silco

He reminds me of Joker and I wouldn't be surprised if the character was somewhat created based on that. He's vicious and also very heartless. Certainly a worthy antagonist to strike a very good balance.

He'd also had dreams for the undercity but when those dreams drowned he became reborn and would do anything to take that power by force. He gains alliance and goes for the kill. Everything goes as planned untill he too falls for a cute little girl's charm.

He was very instrumental in making the characters come to life, he moulds them and with every ounce of his strength drives them to the edge of the wall. I certainly enjoyed this character.

They're a lot more characters but I'll not spoil all the fun for you. The element of surprise and the ability to drive you nuts is everything.

My take on the movie

You wouldn't believe me when I say this movie was top of the art. The animation was one of the finest I've ever seen, and I must say the characters were well developed. Like wtf!, when I think about it I get goosebumps. I expected a really great series but I didn't expect one that'll leave me hungry for more.

What caught me the most was what they did with powder turning her from the sweetest little thing to the most scariest of things, like I got scared of her at a point and I really admired her, it got better and better. Then the element of surprise was really there, I love a movie that always takes me by surprise, keeps my heart racing.

Arcane did that to me, and the action was great, like the fighting scenes were killer, the blood, the breaking of bones, and for once I didn't get tired of hearing them converse while they did their action, it was worth it.

Another thing that was on point was the soundtrack, the main soundtrack by imagine dragons got me feeling the action to come, felt like a war cry, and a warning, c'mon you don't know what you're about to see.

Then I wasn't sure who was the main villian, every one had their own secret motives, the play of politics, mind games and unexpected suicidal thoughts. Then it shows how much we'll do anything to feel at peace with ourselves because the world is a really crazy place especially when power enters the wrong hands.

If I were to rate this movie, I'll surely give it a 9.5 out of 10 but then I'm also looking forward to the follow up season, I hope they actually drop it soon. I can't wait.

¿Qué harías si vieras a la persona que amas asesinada de forma tan espantosa?

Cuando vi el trailer de esta película de animación me quedé con ganas de más. Ya sabéis lo fanático de la animación que soy, no podía dormir, me pareció algo que sin duda disfrutaría viendo y como siempre, mi chico del cine vino al rescate.

Acababa de volver de visitar a un amigo y me dijo: "Oye, hermano, tengo algo que te va a gustar", y no se equivocaba, ciertamente era el tipo de cosa que me iba a gustar, pero no soy de los que se dejan llevar por toda la propaganda, siempre me gusta ver las cosas por mí mismo, experimentar toda la acción de primera mano.

Cuando empecé, no sabía qué esperar, sobre todo después de ver algo como Amor, muerte y robots, mis expectativas eran muy altas. Bueno, qué puedo decir, ¿fue una buena serie?, ¿O no lo fue? Pues tendréis que quedaros para descubrirlo.

Algunos de mis personajes favoritos son

Violet (Vi)

Al principio pensé que era un chico por lo sobresaliente que era. Con muchas ganas de dar la cara y ver perecer a los que hicieron asesinar a su familia. Es un personaje movido por la ira, la rabia, el dolor y la venganza sin remedio.

Es una protagonista fuerte que siempre acaba poniéndose de pie sin importar lo que le echen. Ha sido testigo de muchas cosas y ha acabado siendo decisiva en la creación de Jinx

Powder / Jinx

Omg, podéis llamarme loca pero este es realmente mi personaje más querido. Una niña que había presenciado el asesinato de su familia, excepto su hermana mayor. Ha hecho todo lo posible para demostrar su valía, para salir de la sombra de su hermana y demostrar que es digna.

Pero acaba quedándose corta cada vez, y siempre termina por explotar las cosas. Lo tiene difícil y esa dulce niña acaba convirtiéndose en una de las subvillanas más locas jamás creadas. Me toma por sorpresa cada vez tanto como los otros y nunca jamás es predecible. Creo que fue una de las mejores creaciones del escritor de esta maravillosa serie.

Vander

De fuerte voluntad y sin duda la figura paterna. Ha pasado por muchas cosas para dar voz a los bajos fondos y acaba ganándose muchos enemigos. No le importa porque en realidad es una fuerza a tener en cuenta.
Pero luego se enamora de los niños que rescató y haría cualquier cosa para protegerlos, incluso si eso significa sacrificarse.

Silco

Me recuerda al Joker y no me extrañaría que el personaje se creara un poco en base a eso. Es despiadado y también muy desalmado. Sin duda un antagonista digno de conseguir un muy buen equilibrio.

También había tenido sueños para la subciudad pero cuando esos sueños se ahogaron renació y haría cualquier cosa para tomar ese poder por la fuerza. Consigue una alianza y va a por todas. Todo va según lo planeado hasta que él también se enamora de los encantos de una linda niña.

El personaje es muy importante para dar vida a los personajes, los moldea y con cada gramo de su fuerza los lleva al borde del muro. Sin duda disfruté de este personaje.

Hay muchos más personajes, pero no te voy a estropear toda la diversión. El elemento sorpresa y la capacidad de volverte loco lo es todo.

Mi opinión sobre la película

No me creerás cuando digo que esta película fue de lo mejor. La animación fue una de las mejores que he visto, y debo decir que los personajes estaban bien desarrollados. Como wtf!, cuando lo pienso se me pone la piel de gallina. Esperaba una serie muy buena pero no esperaba una que me dejara con ganas de más.

Lo que más me atrapó fue lo que hicieron con powder convirtiéndola de la más dulce cosita a la más aterradora, como que en un momento me asusté de ella y realmente la admiré, cada vez fue mejor. Entonces el elemento de sorpresa estaba realmente allí, me encanta una película que siempre me toma por sorpresa, mantiene mi corazón acelerado.

Arcane me hizo eso, y la acción fue genial, como las escenas de pelea fueron matadoras, la sangre, el romper huesos, y por una vez no me cansé de oírlos conversar mientras hacían su acción, valió la pena.

Otra cosa que estuvo en su punto fue la banda sonora, la banda sonora principal de imagine dragons me hizo sentir la acción que venía, se sentía como un grito de guerra, y una advertencia, vamos que no sabes lo que vas a ver.

Luego no estaba seguro de quién era el villano principal, cada uno tenía sus propios motivos secretos, el juego de la política, los juegos mentales y los pensamientos suicidas inesperados. Entonces muestra lo mucho que haremos para sentirnos en paz con nosotros mismos porque el mundo es un lugar realmente loco, especialmente cuando el poder entra en las manos equivocadas.

Si tuviera que calificar esta película, seguramente le daría un 9,5 sobre 10, pero también estoy deseando que salga la siguiente temporada, espero que la saquen pronto. No puedo esperar.
