Darkness, hopelessness and sad music emanated from the room. I will wait for you, I will wait for you, I will wait for you were the prevalent words in the song that reflected how Sarah felt.

Tears flowed like a river down her cheeks as she sat on her bed, legs folded on top eachother. Nothing could be seen except for the blue, green, red and yellow lights emanating from her sound system.

She'd been locked up in her room for hours but it felt like time freezed. Boom, boom, boom, the bass from the slow music vibrated the walls and made the room shake. It was as if she.....

Don't you think it's the right time to do a flashback??

Arghhhh, common Jimmy!

What!

I told you never to interrupt me whenever I'm tell a good story!

But...but...

No buts, just keep quiet so I can finish this

Yeah right, how long am I going to be hiding in here..I'm tired Chinco, I'm tired of being in the shadows, I want to be free, I want to be seen..you can't keep me locked up in here for too long

.......

You can't!

Ok listen Jimmy, if you just let me finish this story so members of the Inkwell Community can enjoy it, I'll let you have the body..for an hour..

Two??

(Sigh) Ok, two hours is fine....

A knock frightened Sarah, she'd been lost, so lost that she ended up in her own reality. What happened?, What brought her back to this world she was trying so bad to leave?.

The knock sounded again, kon, kon, kon. It was loud, so loud that even her music couldn't drown it out. It had come with a certain determination and it didn't sound like it was going to be deterred by anything.

She got out of bed, ignoring the loud music and walked up to the door. She peered through the small hole but couldn't see anyone. Then, she opened it wide and then took a step forward to have a good look.

What happened next was something neither I, James, Sarah or you could have ever thought of. It was something that'll change the course of this story. It was something that even the words I write cannot describe it, it was something else.

....

Happiness, hopefulness, and happy music emanated from the room. Even if the world was ending, I'll always be with you, I'll always be with you. were the prevalent words in the song that reflected how Sarah felt.

Tears flowed like a river down her cheeks as she sat on her bed, legs folded on top eachother. Nothing could be seen except for the blue, green, red and yellow lights emanating from her sound system and reflected on the face of the one that sat next to her.

They'd been locked up in her room for hours and it felt like time freezed. Boom, boom, boom, the bass from the slow music vibrated the walls and made the room shake. It was as if their hearts were connected, she could feel his heartbeat and hers merge to become one.

His soft soothing hands wiped off the tears from her eyes, then he kissed her lips, slowly. Butterflies danced in her stomach in excitement. She could never get tired of kissing him, of kissing those lips she thought she'd lost in a plane crash.......her world had almost crumbled but then she waited... and it didn't. Instead it...

Now that's how you write a good story. I never...

Jimmy!!!!!!

C'mon Chinco, there's no need to shout. And to you reading this right now...I'm sure they've been times when you felt broken, lost, hopeless, felt like your whole world was going to crumble. You shed tears in silence, you found comfort in sad music, you drowned yourself in religion, you welcomed drinks and drugs...you let depression be your best friend and you maybe even thought of giving death that handshake.

Whatever your own situation may be, I want you to know that you should just wait a little while, hang on a little longer, just a little time and a knock will come knocking om your door and it'll change your life forever...I know so...and you should too...

Wow, Jimmy...maybe I should be letting you out more often.

Thank you for reading this, if you enjoyed it or it connected to you in a way, I invite you to drop a comment I'll be glad to reply❤️

You use an intriguing storytelling technique, with the author embedded in the story.

Here's a helpful article in our collection of fiction writing tips.

I like how you repeated specific lines, that kept me hanging, to be honest. I was losing my patience too but then the knock surely changed it all. It was a good story.
