Hi bloggers, today I decided to do something different to change things up a bit. This time my friend @alexa.art and I have set ourselves the challenge of drawing each other in our style. So we got down to work, I gave her a picture of me to turn it into something dark and gloomy as is her style, and I chose a picture of one of her many amazing makeovers that she does every week, to give it a tender and magical side, maybe it was not as sweet as I expected but I feel that I met my goal. I'll tell you how it was to recreate Alexa and the step by step, here we go.

Hola blogueros, hoy he decido hacer algo diferente para variar un poco las cosas. En esta ocasión mi amiga @alexa.art y yo nos hemos puesto el reto de dibujar al otro en nuestro estilo. Así que nos pusimos manos a la obra, yo le pase una foto de mi para que la tornara en algo tétrico y oscuro como es su estilo, y yo elegí una foto de uno de sus tantos maquillajes increíbles que semana a semana hace, para darle un lado tierno y mágico, tal vez no quedo tan dulce como esperaba pero siento que cumplí mi objetivo. Te cuento como fue recrear a Alexa y el paso a paso, vamos allá.

For the idea of the sketch I let myself go by the photo of the makeup and added some details because I love the idea itself because I love harlequins and in fact it was me who asked her to make up like that a few weeks ago, well I added a harlequin neck and a small floating hummingbird I thought it was a nice detail to highlight the expression of her face and the direction she has.

Para la idea del boceto me deje llevar por la foto del maquillaje y agregue algunos detalles ya que la idea en si me encanta porque amo los arlequines y de hecho fui yo quien le pedí que se maquillara así hace unas semanas, bueno agregue un cuello de arlequín y un pequeño colibrí flotando me parecía un lindo detalle para hacer resaltar la expresión de su rostro y la dirección que tiene.

What was difficult? of course it was, hahaha I'm not used to make drawings that have to look like someone, my God I got frustrated, and more frustrated when I saw the process of Alexa's drawing because she and other hive artists are my inspiration to make my drawings, I took it easy and continued, many times we think that we are not doing well but it's because we are not finished yet, you have to continue and wait for it to come out as you want.

¿Qué fue difícil? claro que lo fue jajajaja no estoy acostumbrado a hacer dibujos que se tengan que parecer a alguien, Dios mío me frustre demasiado, y mas me frustre cuando vi el proceso del dibujo de Alexa ya que ella y otros artistas de hive son mi inspiración para hacer mis dibujos, Lo tome con calma y seguí, muchas veces pensamos que no nos esta saliendo bien pero es porque aun no acabamos, hay que seguir y esperar que te salga como quieres.

I have kept my color palette of cool tones for this portrait, I am incorporating other tones little by little in my portraits but for this one I didn't want to risk not knowing how to manipulate other tones, so I used the tones I have been using and made sure it would turn out as I wanted, it was still necessary to reinforce some colors to highlight the face more but it wasn't complicated. What took me the most work was to find the right tones for her makeup since I was totally changing the color of the original photo.

He conservado mi paleta de color de tonos fríos para este retrato, estoy incorporando otros tonos poco a poco e mis retratos pero para este no quería arriesgarme a no saber manipular otros tonos, así que utilice los tonos que vengo usando y asegurarme que saldría como yo quería, igual me fue necesario reforzar algunos colores para resaltar mas el rostro pero no fue complicado. Lo que mas me llevó trabajo fue encontrar los tonos adecuados para su maquillaje ya que le estaba cambiando totalmente el color al de la foto original.

At this point I realized that Alexa's expression didn't reflect tenderness and her personality is not like that, Xd and that's not a bad thing. So I went ahead, the only thing left to do was to paint the little hummingbird which was a challenge because I didn't know what colors to combine but it was just an extra detail so I wasn't going to lose my head over it. and that was it. I loved this idea and I liked to get out of the routine once, would I do it again? I don't know hahaha maybe, for now I'm happy with what I achieved, I invite you to see the version of me that @alexa.art did in her profile because it's amazing, I loved it too much!

En este punto fue donde me di cuenta que la expresión de Alexa no reflejaba ternura y es que su personalidad non es así, Xd y no es malo. Así que seguí adelante, ya solo restaba pintar el pequeño colibrí que igual fue un reto pues no sabia que colores combinar pero solo era un detalle extra así que no iba a perder la cabeza por ello. y eso fue todo. Me encanto esta idea y me gusto salir de la rutina una vez, ¿lo volvería a hacer? no lo sé jajaja tal vez ,por ahora estoy contento con lo que logré, te invito a ver la versión de mi que hizo @alexa.art en su perfil ya que esta increíble. ¡lo ame demasiado!
