THE SECRETS I WHISPERED TO THE MOON | Children's book illustrations

Hello bloggers, I hope you are very well...I'm back here I didn't think so soon Xd, but while I have time I want to be here sharing my work and everything I'm learning as time goes by. Today I come to show you my last illustration of a children's book, which I enjoyed a lot because it was a color practice which I enjoyed a lot of my illustrations...I show you the process as always.

Hola blogueros, espero estén muy bien...estoy de vuelta por acá no creí que tan pronto Xd, pero mientras tenga tiempo quiero estar por acá compartiéndoles mi trabajo y todo lo que voy aprendiendo al pasar del tiempo. El día de hoy vengo a mostrarles mi ultima ilustración de libro infantil, la cual disfruté mucho porque fue una práctica de color lo cual disfrutó muchísimo de mis ilustraciones...te muestro el proceso como siempre.

I had the idea for this illustration a few days ago on a rainy day, I imagined a story where there are plants so huge that you can use them as umbrellas. What if there was a world where things are so big that they can be used for multiple things? That made me imagine a little girl running on her way home and sheltering from the rain under a huge leaf that she picked up from the road.

La idea de esta ilustración la tuve hace unos días en un día de lluvia, me imaginé un cuento donde existen plantas tan inmensas que puedes usarlas de paraguas ¿Y si existiera un mundo donde las cosas son tan grandes que se pueden usar para múltiples cosas? eso me hizo imaginarme a una pequeña chica corriendo de camino a casa y resguardándose de la lluvia bajo una enorme hoja que tomó del camino.

When I finished the sketch I was thinking for a while, I looked for some references and found that a very talented artist called Xlan had already had the same idea, so I took as inspiration a very soft but vibrant color palette, it transmits calm and fun at the same time, I like to appreciate the work of my colleagues and get inspiration for my own because it is a way to see art from the eyes of another (but that if, without ever falling into copying).

Cuando terminé el boceto me quedé pensando un rato, busqué algunas referencias y encontré que un artista muy talentoso llamado Xlan ya había tenido la misma idea, así que tomé como inspiración una paleta de colores muy suave pero vibrante, transmite calma y diversión al mismo tiempo, me gusta apreciar el trabajo de mis colegas e inspirarme para el mío porque es una forma de ver el arte desde los ojos de otro (pero eso si, sin caer nunca en la copia).

I liked this color palette because you can feel the cold and the night in it, a color palette that does not necessarily look sad but seeks to convey happiness where we always see sadness and melancholy as is the rain. With this illustration I wanted to convey the fun in the rainy days that I had when I was just an innocent child, I love to convey the innocence that I once had and I'm sure I still have a little of it.

Me gustó esta paleta de color porque se siente el frio y la noche en ella, una paleta de colores que no necesariamente se ve triste si no que busca transmitir felicidad donde siempre vemos tristeza y melancolía como es la lluvia. Con ésta ilustración quise transmitir la diversión en los días de lluvia que tenía cuando era solo un niño inocente, amo transmitir la inocencia que algún día tuve y que estoy seguro que aun tengo una poca de ella.

I always use blending layers for my illustrations but this time it wasn't necessary. The most complicated part of this illustration was painting the leaves because I had to give them depth and not look so flat, but in the end I think I was able to achieve it... I still have a lot of things to practice so I invite you to follow my illustrations that soon I will be around here showing you more of my way in the world of illustration... and maybe someday you will see one of them in a children's book.

Suelo siempre utilizar capas de modo de fusión para mis ilustraciones pero esta vez no fue necesario. Lo mas complicado de esta ilustración fue pintar las hojas porque debía darle una profundidad y que no se vieran tan planas, pero al final creo que lo pude lograr... aun tengo muchas cosas que practicar así que te invito a que sigas mis ilustraciones que pronto estaré por acá mostrándote mas de mi camino en el mundo de la ilustración... y quizá algún día veas una de ellas en un libro para niños.
