BMW E21 #Monomad

This Photo is my Entry to the #Monomad Challenge

The pictures show a BMW 3 Series E21, built between 1975 and 1983, so you could say it's a true classic car. The rims have the BMW logo in the middle, but I can hardly imagine that they were originally intended for this car. In my opinion, however, they round off the car very nicely. The extra width and the lowered chassis give the car a slightly more aggressive touch without making it look 'stupid'. You know those cars where you think: 'Why the hell would they lower it? It looks completely stupid'? I'm not a big car fan, but when I see a nice car, I like to stop and look at it. With this one, it was the color: mint green that caught my attention. In black and white, the curves and edges of the car stand out even better. You can see the sea in the background, and in the last photo an olive tree forms a fitting silhouette - somehow idyllic. I'm still waiting for the day when I happen to pass a brand new car next to its vintage counterpart. Capturing the direct comparison in a photo would be something special.

Maybe I should just take pictures of beautiful cars sometimes, I've just realized. 🙃

Die Bilder zeigen einen BMW 3er E21, gebaut zwischen 1975 und 1983. Man kann also behaupten, es ist ein wahrer Oldtimer. Die Felgen tragen das BMW-Zeichen in der Mitte, doch kann ich mir kaum vorstellen, dass sie ursprünglich für dieses Auto gedacht waren. Sie runden das Auto aber in meinen Augen sehr schön ab. Die Überbreite und das tiefergelegte Fahrwerk verleihen dem Wagen eine etwas aggressivere Note, ohne ihn 'dumm' aussehen zu lassen. Kennt ihr diese Autos, bei denen man denkt: 'Wieso zur Hölle würde man die tieferlegen? Sieht komplett affig aus.'? Ich bin kein großer Autofan, aber wenn ich ein schönes Auto sehe, bleibe ich doch mal stehen und schaue es mir gerne an. Bei diesem war es die Farbe: Mintgrün, die meine Aufmerksamkeit erregte. In Schwarz-Weiß kommen die Kurven und Kanten des Wagens nochmal besser zur Geltung. Im Hintergrund sieht man das Meer, und im letzten Foto bildet ein Olivenbaum eine passende Silhouette – irgendwie idyllisch. Ich warte immer noch auf den Tag, an dem ich zufällig an einem ganz neuen Auto vorbeigehe, neben dem dessen Oldtimer steht. Den direkten Vergleich in einem Foto festzuhalten, wäre schon etwas Feines.

Vielleicht sollte ich manchmal auch einfach Bilder von schönen Autos machen, fällt mir gerade so auf. 🙃
