I think I have discovered a new hobby // Ich glaube ich habe ein neues Hobby

My girlfriend and I, or let's be honest my girlfriend, have recently started paying attention to 2 euro coins. Among them there are one or two quite rare or unusual ones. I myself am a card payer and I either hold my watch or my mobile phone up to the terminal and pay, so I more or less don't get any cash back. I think this will change from now on.

When my girlfriend received a rather dirty but rare Greek 2 euro coin after we had ordered a gyros in Thasos, we got onto the subject that we liked to build towers out of small change back then and what a pity it is that this coin is so dirty. I then told her that I had "washed" my coins when I was about 10 years old, but they oxidised after a short time and then looked green and much worse than before.

Today I am a little older and wiser. On Amazon I got myself a small multi-function turning tool, polishing paste and polishing attachments. Back then I took photos of "bitcoin" coins of which I even managed to sell some on Adobe Stock and Shutterstock. Since this mostly happened in nature the coin got quite dirty. With this I found my first project. Paste on the coin, spread, and polish. I intentionally only did one half for comparison.
I'm not sure if the camera was able to capture the whole thing well, as the difference is much more pronounced in real life.

Meine Freundin und ich, oder sind wir ehrlich meine Freundin hat vor kurzem angefangen auf 2 Euro Münzen zu achten. Bei diesen gibt es die ein oder andere recht seltene bzw. außergewöhnliche. Ich selber gehöre zu den Kartenzahlern bzw. ich halte entweder meine Uhr oder mein Handy an das Terminal und habe bezahlt dadurch komme ich mehr oder weniger nicht in den Genuss Bargeld zurückzuerhalten.
Denke dies wird sich ab jetzt ändern.

Als meine Freundin eine recht verdreckte aber seltene griechische 2 Euro Münze erhalten hatte, nachdem wir in Thasos einen Gyros bestellt hatten, sind wir auf das Thema gekommen, dass wir damals gerne aus Kleingeld Türmchen gebaut haben und wir schade es ist, dass diese Münze so dreckig ist. Daraufhin habe ich ihr erzählt, dass ich mit ca. 10 Jahren meine Münzen „gewaschen“ habe, aber diese nach kurzer Zeit oxydiert sind und danach Grün und wesentlich schlimmer aussahen als vorher.

Heute bin ich etwas älter und weiser. Auf Amazon hab ich mir ein kleines Multifunktionsdrehtool besorgt, Polierpaste und Polieraufsätze. Damals habe ich Fotos von „Bitcoin“-Münzen gemacht von denen ich sogar welche auf Adobe Stock und Shutterstock verkaufen konnte. Da dies meistens in der Natur passiert ist wurde die Münze recht dreckig. Damit habe ich mein erstes Projekt gefunden. Paste auf die Münze, verteilen, und polieren. Ich habe absichtlich zum Vergleich erstmal nur eine Hälfte gemacht.

Ich bin mir nicht sicher ob die Kamera das ganze gut einfangen konnte, da der Unterschied im Real Life wesentlich stärker ausgeprägt ist.
