Staying Away From Sin, MCGI TOPIC REVIEW

Sin is what our God hates. Sin is the thing that separates man from God. Those who continue to live their lives in sin cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Sin causes us to disobey God. Our fellowship with God is not accepted if we continue to live in sin. As believers in Jesus, we should run away from every sin.

1 John 5:16-17 (KJV) If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

Bro Eli Soriano has admonished us through the teachings of the MCGI Mass Indoctrination to stay away from sin. When we repent from sin and receive the doctrines of Jesus Christ, we should obey them and stop committing sins. We cannot continue sinning and expect our lives to be please God. Our God is a righteous God and does not like unrighteousness.

Bro Eli told us that there are two types of sin according to the Bible. There are sins which are not unto death and there are sins which are unto death. There are spiritual sins. When we sin unintentionally, if we confess our sins God will forgive us. But if we commit the spiritual sins they are unpardonable.

Acts 15:28-29 (KJV) For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Some of the sins which we have been told to stay away from are:
• Idolatry
• Eating blood
• Strangled Meat
• Fornication

We are to abstain from every form of idol worship. We should not partake in the meat offered to idols.

We should not eat blood. Bro Eli told us that blood is sacred to God. God forbids that we should eat blood.

We should not eat meat that died on its own. Only the meat that we kill and spill out the blood is what we should eat.

We should avoid fornication. Every form of sexual immorality is an abomination to our God. The aspect of the fornication that Bro Eli said is unpardonable is when we turn away from God and follow other gods. Such is a terrible sin.

Hebrews 10:26-29 (KJV) For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
