Telecommunication. #Photofeed Contest Round 71. BLACK AND WHITE

Some years back telecommunication in our city was not that easy to come by. In those days, people could use what we call the land line to call those who had telephones in their houses. If you have any need to make a phone call, you will go to the public telephone booths or visit the elite who have telephones in their houses to make the call.

Thank God for technology. When the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo came on board, he brought in the use of cell phones. I heard that at that time, the prices of cell phones were so exorbitant when they first came out. People had to make contributions before they could get the handset itself. Thereafter, they would need a whole lot more to register a sim card. Getting connected was very costly but yet, thanks to that telecommunication had come.

Now the story is that of a good tale. We have cell phones everywhere and sim registration is almost free. Everyone in the country has easy access to telephones. Telecommunication has come and we have better means of communicating in and outside the country.
