Columbines an Encore Presentation
(Edited)
Today I'm Presenting an Encore Presentation of the Columbines from Yesterdays Sunday Edition.
Everyone seemed to really like the Columbines I posted Yesterday so I thought I'd give you more... much more =)
Had a much softer morning light today and I was able to capture more of the subtle colors and detail in the flowers today.
I was also empty for most of the time I was there and No Wind. WoooHoo
After I spent over 2 hours snapping away I looked at my image count... 237... O.O
More than half of those were of the Columbines. It took a wile but I managed to choose the best 25 or so lol, lots of images in this one. I tend not to skimp on the images as I usually have a truck load.
I'm just wandering around the garden taking shots of the different beds from all angles.
All images taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T7.
All the wider angle shots and a few of the close ups are taken with the FS 18-55mm lens.
Most of the close ups taken with the Sigma 150-600mm C telephoto lens at just beyond minimum focus distance. (about 12 feet away)
Really liking the Sigma to isolate and and zoom into flowers. It also allowed me to get close ups of blooms that I couldn't reach with the other lenses I use.
I did even notice the pale yellow ones yesterday in the afternoon sun.
There are 3 or 4 different types and shades of purple ones here =)
I caught this pale pink one in the shade of the Wishing Well and I think I was able to capture it nicely.
The hot pink ones are popping extra pink this morning.
The Columbines are still opening up and spreading out for the most part.
Told ya there wee a lot of images in this post lol.
I'm also selecting a half dozen of these images for #monochromemonday, one version in black and white and one in Sepia. I still need to write the words and post it a little later.
This purple one is still my favorite.
Aaaand there we have it, I hope you all enjoyed the images today =)

Lovely photos! I didn't realize there were so many different types of these flowers.
Yeah neither did I.
They planted a bunch of them this year, not even sure there were any last year.
This is absolutely stunning! I cannot think of anyone who doesn't love the beauty of the Columbine. Their distinct profile and unique color combinations are pure eye candy. The sideways glance of them gives the impression of a flower blowing in the breeze, the long stamen, standing at attention.
The purple is probably my favorite, but, there is something alluring about the pink and red - with an almost basket-like weave that the flowers are positioned on. Mine looks EXACTLY like that, it almost looks like my picture, showing off again and again. There is no limit to their beauty.
The bright pops of pretty, blending together, yet standing on their own is amazing. I am scrolling by the purple again and yes. This is the one that takes my heart. And because you think it can't get any better, you come upon the last 5 or six shots!
Stunning. I know I used the word, but, they are! I want to thank you for going above and beyond. It is a magnificent show! Come back again soon!!!! :)
Well Thank You @dswigle ! You are so good for my ego lol.
Yeah That one purple one is tops with me but I really like just about all of them. I have a bunch of images of the rest of the flowers there as well.
Have you ever seen a giant old Fuchsia that is 20' feet tall with 100s of dark red and purple blooms ? If not then your about to =)
NOOOOOO! I have not! I have a Fuschia, but, it is in a hanging pot (and is purple and pink/red- my favorite colors of it) Are you taking a plant of a tree? Either way, I have never seen it that big, or even close! What are they feeding them out there???
Thank you again! You have exceeded my expectations! I will be looking out for it!
Hello @chromiumone, love your photos of the beautiful Columbines. I have to admit I did not know there was such a flower, maybe they do not grow here in Australia.
