On Extempore and Presentation!

Have a fear about extempore? Do you have a bad feeling about the stage? Or, are you bad at addressing people?

If not you are glorious my friend. Because I myself had these issues, and it made me take this thing a bit seriously. Everyday I stand before a hundred plus young audience to give my classes.

You can understand my situation, and that is the main reason for looking into it. I felt bad when I saw my words or presentation or my style or something else that was bothering my presentations. And then, I started learning about Extempore and presentation techniques.

I was bewildered Knowing stuff that I never thought that way. Surprisingly, it is not the language barrier rather it is the style and techniques that matters the most. As the topic contains a bunch of issues that should be considered an umbrella, I will try to focus only on Extempore! and share my point of view.

Extempore refers to a speech that should be unpremeditated and it must be off the cup. However, the people who are good at it can be seen performing a leadership role. It helps individuals to be naturally a good speaker and build spontaneous attitudes towards knowledge.

So, let me give you a glimpse of their secret. Imagine you are being asked to give a short speech on a topic on which you have no previous preparation. What should you do? Let me tell you the experts way. You call it a suggestion for your brainstorming.

Giving a simple definition at the very beginning always works. It helps the audience to get curious about the rest of your discourses. Some start with a surprising fact about the topic. You can indicate what areas you are going to cover the given topic.

A wise old man said, it is the most important thing that you have to communicate with your audience ; an effective one of course. Good speakers always try to do it. If your speech makes your audience thoughtful, happy, sad, angry (try to avoid this one! Lol) believe me you are definitely a good speaker.

Illustration of the topic just after the intro always helps to create a strong ground for the speaker to go further. Many scholars suggest doing a quantitative or qualitative expansion of the topic. Here the speaker has the full freedom to take the listener wherever he/she wants to.

After that, a good extempore speaker tries to give some explanation about the topic. It always works if you can give some data or analysis or even experts opinions right here. It will help you to pull your listeners at the height of your standpoint.

Refute your idea, it will give you standpoint a clear view to the audience. Clarification is the that can perforn the role player here at this very point. Clearing any doubts or views that are opposite or even irrelevant to your topic can help you give the last kick. And here you are at the end of your short speech. Wrap it up, finish it with a little smile and don't forget to thank your listeners.

However, the things I mentioned isn't the only way or solution of it. I've seen many speakers doing it so naturally without giving the above issues. But if you watch them I hope you'll find many of these things among them. It's totally cool. They make me suprised.

My intention was to make you at least informed about this technique. If it helps you a little that will be my reward. Thank me later and feel free to drop a comment about it. How do you do it!

Thank you for your time.
