Writing As A Skill!

Whenever I think of writing, I always consider it a skill. Yes, it definitely is. But it is a natural gift at the same time for some people. The best of all I say. Writers from different times felt difficulties doing it again and again. Sometimes words don't come easily, can't figure out how or where to start and to where it should be brought and make a successful end.

However, that's not the main point actually. Rather I want to share a different point of view regarding writing. Today, I will try to discuss it under the light of not considering it as a 'Natural Gift' rather take it as a 'Learned Skill' which anyone can achieve to a certain extent.
So, here I am.

There is a general conception about writing that allows most of us to believe it like a simple way to enhance learning how to write well is to consider it as a 'natural gift' rather than 'a learned stuff'. But that's not totally true I think. Thus I will try to put my points before you and leave it for your wise consideration.

People with having the idea of writing as a gift usually think that they are the only one for whom writing is a thing which is like a hard nut to creak for them. They simply think that everyone else is doing it so easily or at least comfortably enough.

I have seen many of them usually say, "I am not good at writing; it is simply not my thing!". Or, " English is not one of my good subs or liking". One of friend even told me that he thinks he doesn’t have the subtle talent of writing. Not true!

The ultimate forthcoming of this attitude makes them end up like avoiding writing or while writing without giving the best of them. This attitude can be considered as a self fulfilling eyewash that blinded them to believe they can't write well.

Their unconscious makes them think about it that way and I think that is why they fall behind. And, that is what made me thoughtful about them as a language enthusiast. However, it is not that much frustrating though, many individuals among this group have come forward and enlightened them and found a new way of looking into it. Believe me they are doing it pretty successfully.

The realistic attitude towards writing is to consider it as a skill that can be achieved through practice and learning it properly. It is simply similar to driving, typing or even you can consider it as similar as cooking; I assure you. If someone has the determination to learn and gets the subtle willingness I suggest you to practice it more and more. And of course I believe that it is the only way to develop it; the amazing skill of writing.

Sometimes you will find difficulties to do the intense, active thinking that an effective writing demands. I say no worries my friend. It will develop gradually. I know the challenging factors to transfer thoughts and feelings into beautiful carved words that really matter.

Ot often happens to me that I lost my concentration and enthusiasm; but I don’t loose hope. I stick to the plan. Like the one someone wise says, "ধর তক্তা, মার প্যারেক!". Ha ha! It’s a bengali phrase that encourage the doer to finish whatever started and do it anyway!

The good news is to all of us that this skill of writing can be mastered, and if you are ready to work with it; it is just a matter of time. You will gradually learn what you need to know, learn, practice as well as execute.
