It's been a couple of weeks since I last brought you a battle strategy, however, it's not because I don't want to, it's because I want to diversify a bit the content regarding "Strategies", thoughts about new implementations in "Splinterlands", profit analysis and/or proposals, more new elements in the game, all this in order to cover all possible aspects of the game, although, a fundamental part of my blog, is to talk about new strategies to help new players to understand how "Splinterlands" works (Rules and Card Skills) in a much faster and effective way.

In that sense, in this opportunity I will explain a great new strategy to play in very complicated moments, where, the rule sets are really difficult to handle and we have no other alternative but to go practically against what the rules tell us; and of course, everything is against us, so, the best example I can give you for a situation like this, is involving the rule sets "Wands Out and Counterspell" using "Magic" attacks, including a great card very functional for this specific type of occasions.

So, if you want to know what this card is and how it works, as well as the best ways to use it, join me in the following post below:

The incredible usefulness of "Void Dragon" and under which conditions to use it

As always before sharing the strategy and my battle lineup, I always like to explain why I select certain cards to play, so, in this opportunity the undisputed star of this battle, was undoubtedly my "Void Dragon", so, before proceeding to explain the rule sets and other details of the battle, I will tell you in detail how to use "Void Dragon" correctly and in what battle conditions it is quite useful, I will tell you in detail how to use "Void Dragon" correctly and in what battle conditions it is quite useful, although, if you have any idea of what the card is, you should already imagine the special conditions to play it, even so, I hope you can take advantage of this information, since, I practically tell you where and how to use this card, which is very important to learn how to play this game, so, join me:

Combinable cards and abilities

  • Void Dragon y Spirit Miner: This combination is very good, since the skills that the "Spirit Miner" has complement the "Void Dragon" very well, this is due to the fact that this Dragon has an incredible speed of 5 points, and by adding "Swiftness and Blind", it obtains a speed bonus and additionally increases the chances that the rest of the opponent's monsters will fail it, besides, the fact that it has a great speed helps its "Phase" skill to work to its fullest.

  • Void Dragon y Tank Heal: Despite being a very common ability, in this specific case where the current "Void Dragon" as "Tank" in the battle, combining it with "Tank Heal" is quite logical and beneficial, because, although they have great chances to dodge and return the attacks, it will not always be 100% of the time, so, placing an additional defensive layer, makes it a really powerful and difficult card to annihilate.

  • Void Dragon con “Swiftness y Blind”: Indirectly I commented these abilities with the Spirit Miner, but, so that there is no confusion, since the Dragon Splinter can really be played with all teams, it is very good to play the Void Dragon with at least 1 of these 2 abilities, although, if they are both present, it is the idea, this would increase the defense and influence of the Void Dragon in the field, so, remember that any card with these abilities can make a good team with this card.

Favorable Rule Sets

  • Wands Out: It is more than obvious that one of the rules where our "Void Dragon" works best, is undoubtedly in "Wands Out", this is because his "Void and Phase" abilities, make him an incredible tank resistant to this type of magical attacks, besides, while he has greater speed, hitting an attack becomes really complicated.

  • Counterspell: Although it is a dangerous battle rule for those who possess magical attacks, the "Void Dragon" works perfectly in this rule set, since possessing "Phase" can cause those magical attacks that are redirected at the dragon to miss as well, so in some attacks it may be quite useful.

  • Fog of War: In this set of rules it is very likely that all attacks will be received by the "Void Dragon", since the abilities "Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity" cannot be used, so, placing it as a tank in these conditions would be very favorable.

  • Broken Arrows: In this set of rules cards with ranged attacks cannot be used, it is for this reason that, it is ideal to use magic attacks or melee, to face the battle, so, depending on the last moves of our opponent, the ideal would be to use magic attacks and of course include in our alienation "Void Dragon".

  • Target Practice: This battle rule is ideal for using the "Void Dragon", since all cards with ranged and magic attacks will consequently attack only the opponent's monsters that have these types of attacks, although they can also target cards that do not have any type of attack, however, the ideal here is to place the "Void Dragon" in the 2nd position, so that it is the target of all the opponent's attacks.

Conditions and Strategy

To proceed to explain the battle strategy, I will first briefly detail the rule sets of the battle I had, this way, you will know why I played this way and understand why "Void Dragon" was crucial to win this fight:

  • Born Again: This battle rule is simple to understand, since what it does is that all cards get the ability called "Rebirth", so they can return to the field reviving by themselves, which causes the battles to have a higher number of rounds, but still prevails the alienation and strategy used.

  • Wands Out: In this battle rule only cards with "Magic" attacks can be used, which makes it really special to play with the "Void Dragon" and use all its abilities to take advantage of the rules.

  • Counterspell: This is the last battle rule, where, all monsters on the field gain the "Magic Reflect" ability, which returns all magical attacks to their enemies causing damage to their attacker, but, the good thing about this rule even though it is really dangerous when using magical attacks is that the "Void Dragon" is ready to withstand counter attacks.

One of the best parts of the publication has arrived, because, it is here where I explain in detail how I thought to alienate my monsters in the field, so, to start from now, it is known that we must only summon cards with the type of "Magic Attack", knowing this, the first thing I decided was to choose my "Battle Tank", but, it is not the one you think, I did not choose the "Void Dragon", instead I decided to place "Prismatic Energy" in that position, looking for it to also reflect the attacks and weaken them with "Void", but, it is not always good to place your star card in the right position, because, being the first to die and come back to life, once it dies again in the battle, it will no longer be able to revive thanks to "Rebirth", so, looking to protect the "Void Dragon", I decided to place it in the 3rd position.

Now, at first glance, my opponent's alienation is quite strong, he has a combination of "Double Triage" thanks to his summoners, so it will be difficult to beat any of his cards, however, he did not place any card to protect his tank by default, something that I did place playing with "Oshuur Constantia" and his "Tank Heal", so these 2 cards, my "Void Dragon and Oshuur Constantia" became the pillar of my game and what allowed me to win the match, since my "Spirit Miner" was only to give me +1 point of speed thanks to his ability "Swiftness", on the other hand, the 2 remaining cards were filled to comply with the rule of only using cards with magic attack, so the combination of the first 4 cards that I mentioned, were more than enough to win in a tough battle.

Note: One of the most important keys to winning is that the Void, Phase and Reflection Shield abilities of the Void Dragon and Oshuur Constantia cards are an extremely strong combination for this specific rule set, not to mention that the only Splinters available for this battle were Life and Dragon, something I did not mention when describing the battle rules.

Conclusion

With this information and battle strategy, I have finished today's publication, which, I hope you liked it and that it will help you to replicate it in a very similar battle condition, although, so that you have a diversity of options and combinations, that is why I first explained how to play and/or combine the "Star" card of the strategy, in this case the "Void Dragon", however, we must also give merits to "Oshuur Constantia", which is also key to victory in this fight. In this sense and ending and to say goodbye, I just want to thank you for reading and if you have any questions or opinions, you can leave them in the comments.

Without further reference, until the next "Splinterlords".
