Welcome back!

This is already week three of our weekly writing prompts blog. Of course the intention is to inspire you in a way, may it be just by reading one of the prompts of because you can relate to what was written in any way. I really don't mind how the prompt inspired you to write something, as long as it does!

Writers block & finding back inspiration

I can recall plenty of moments in the past five years where I felt a writers block pop up and sometimes it took me months to get back in my flow. The great thing about this is when you acknowledge that you have a writers block, for some reason things often start to look better again. Some ideas may be brewing but are not ready to finish yet, or maybe the words are just not there yet. I have found that sometimes reading as little as one word can light up the flame again and bring back my writer's spirit. This is why I started these writing prompts in the first place, because inspiration can come from a totally different angle. If I only inspire one person with every writing prompt at some time, it was worth it!

Let's see which writing prompts I shared last week

Of course, you can start following our Twitter account to see them instantly, but if you're not a social media fan, that's fine, just follow these weekly posts instead.

1. World Kindness Day

Although world kindness day was November 13th, you can still use this prompt for inspiration to write a post. Especially because this topic is always a good one to use for writings. People will never get bored of kindness and I've adopted the #RandomActsOfKindness attitude myself a few years ago. From time to time I create tiny gifts (handmade) and write a note, wrap it in foil and spread it in the neighborhood for a random person to find it. Of course I hope that this person will have a smile on his or her face when finding the tiny gift. Such a small effort can bring great positive flows to the finder. This is why there was no doubt to use World Kindness Day for a writing prompt!

2. A quote by Maya Angelou

I admit, I don't know anything about Maya Angelou. I went hunting for nice quotes that I can use for these writing prompts, and to find these, I browse on the net and pick my favorites. Of course I don't want to act as if a quote is mine so I try to see if I can find the person that the quote came from. Reading this quote I could only say "Yes, ma'am!" It's true, people will forget so many things about a person, but never how they made you feel. I can forget details, situations etc, but the overall feeling what I had being around a person will never be forgotten. Some are good, some are bad, others in between. Can you relate? If so, use it for a post, get inspired :)

3. A boy's best friend is his mother - Movie quote

When I publish the movie quotes, I'm always curious to find out if anyone instantly remembers which movie it came from or that it just rings a bell but not exactly remember from which movie it is. I often know the quote but can't remember the exact movie until I see the answer. Anyway, I think the quote could be an inspiration for some, maybe for you?

I love this approach to writing prompts, really interesting stuff. Especially how you got these prompts to relate to movies without mentioning the movies or types of movies (per se). Sleek stuff.

Thank you very much! It's nice to mix things up a bit and see how we can light a spark in someone's head to find some inspiration. It can come from unexpected angles :)
