Best of the Beanies - Week 16
Welcome to the Best of the Beanies, a curation compilation of some of the top stories from this week's Spill The Beans Creative Writing Prompt.
These authors gave us some amazing content, and we would like to highlight them with the hope that you will take a look and perhaps vote for the post or leave a comment, or a tip for the authors.
Our pick of the top stories covered all the elements of what creative writing involves, and is in keeping with community standards. These authors showed personality and took great pride in creating an epic story that got the judges hooked and wanting more.
The Best of the Beanies, in no particular order - they were all so good!
Yggdrasil Brew by @grindan
Frost giants lob their anger against the mountain tops, dark clouds flicker with their wrath. Gone yet preserved in the seamless story of time.
I see hearty folk belt songs out to honor those around them, foamy beards catch the flow of hasty chugs of ale. They are so rowdy you would think there was a fight at first glance.

Children laugh with candy, the Halloween party was appreciable, of course, I simply poured in the coffee creamer punch a little sulfur so everyone can die with me this time, why should you laugh on this night if my heart hurts?
Trick or Treat of the Cursed Coffee by @chacald.dcymt
With the coffee bag in one hand and the candle in the other, she appeared at Anabel's costume party. Everyone stood transfixed and only moved their eyes to keep an eye on the skeleton as it crossed the room.
He stood face to face with Anabel and said in a voice from beyond the grave trick or treat ?
Wicked warts and froggy toes / where bubbles boil and magic goes by @lordtimoty
She was dressed as a witch, or at least, was witch-like in appearance, forgoing the typical witch’s hat and plastic green nose. The boys made an insensitive comment and laughed at her bent-doubled appearance. She had given them a sinister smile, and then began her own chant, ‘Wicked warts and froggy toes / where bubbles boil and magic goes / drink the brew and tail grow / take on the caw of sinister crow’. The boys had given each other a smirk and ran off, unaware of the power of their words to hurt another, and unaware of the power of words to hurt them.

"Wait,” she said, “I’ve got something special for you. A little bird told me that you might need it.” She disappeared into the warm glow of the hallway and returned with a strange looking foil bag, which she added to our treat’s pack."

""Hey, Bernice, what are you dressed up as, a piece of shit?"
"Ha, ha..." reacted Bernice annoyed in a sarcastic tone. "No, I'm a coffee bean."
"Well, what an ugly disguise. And you cutie, what are you dressed up as?" Robert asked turning to Bethany."

When im greeted at the door.
A face that can't be forgotten and my jaw hits the floor.
Pale as snow, his fingers twisted in gore.
More and more I get closer as I'm being lured.
I cant fight, and I cant ignore.
Come in he says....
Like a castle of old.
The floor and air feels cold.
Walls dressed in gold.
This must be a chore.
My eyes watery and sore.
When im seated I fear the worst but he begins......
