My friend you should try it, of course you must have the mentality that if you try it the experience is similar to eating a coffee flavored dessert 😋

But how is it made? Ice cream inside coffee? Wouldn't it melt? I don't understand

Sometimes you put the coffee in lukewarm so the ice cream doesn't melt so fast. The ingredients are layered. At the end when you mix everything together it is similar to a milkshake with a coffee flavor and creamy texture.

Wow. Okay. Is there a specific flavour of icecream recommended or anykind?

Wow this is a compromising question 😄. I have tried it with vanilla ice cream but recently I also tried it with two different flavors orange ice cream and pistachio ice cream. These combinations were mind blowing.😋

Dayum. Tomorrow is Saturday. I don't know if I can get pistachio or orange but vanilla is common. I'll try it.

I recommend the coffee with ice cream, the combination of the sweet and creamy with the bitter is something to be ecstatic about.

Some people make a blended milkshake type coffee thing, Starbucks has a version of it. That's what I thought of first, although I actually did use ice-cream in a coffee beverage once as creamer !LOLZ (That's what I wrote about so won't double down here haha)

Anyhow, somehow you strike me as more of a liquor in coffee gal, I'm excited to see what you say in your comment and if I'm right 😁

I don't even like liquor!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh God. My ribs!!!

Wait. Can we put red wine in coffee though??? 🤔 Red Sweet wine? Or white? I can work with those. They have like 4.5% Alc vol. 👀👀

It’s a bit difficult when you have to choose between two options that you haven’t really tried.

Source: https://www.seattlesbest.com/recipes/coffee-ice-cream-floats-recipe

Coffee with ice cream? I know there are such “cocktails” around Europe and many people tend to enjoy that when summer heat kicks in. Of course coffee has to be cooled down, otherwise it would melt the ice cream. That’s not how you want your ice cream probably, although there are people who will like this. After all you’ll end up with a coffee flavored ice cream I would not call this ice cream coffee.

Coffee and liquor? I think this is the option for me. Although I haven’t tried this combination, there are some coffee varieties that undergo a fermentation process.

Source: https://perfectdailygrind.com/2017/07/how-does-fermentation-affect-coffee-flavour-development/

This controlled fermentation gives them a very distinctive taste nuances like whiskey or rum, or chocolate liqueur. I’ve tried some coffees like this, and they seem prety interesting and rich in taste. All of this leads me to the opinion, that coffee would fit pretty well with some nuts liqueur.

One thing is sure… Coffee goes well with everything that has some sweet taste and coffee flavor really compliment well some desserts. So either choice you make, u you oh probably will be happy.

I have tried coffee with ice-cream many times and it's really good. There are ice-cream with coffee flavor also which is my favorite because I am a coffee lover. Everything that has coffee would always be favorite except with liquor. I have never tasted yet but I probably not to try because I am not fond of drinking liquors or rum either.

So, I agree with you that coffee better goes with ice-cream 🍦☕😍👍

I can only eat ice cream on the first place, and then have some coffee to wash the sweet taste off. Not that I dislike it that much, but I really prefer the taste of coffee.

I haven't tried it yet. I limit myself with sweets that's why I eat ice cream separately, then I'd drink coffee after. Either way, I love having both!

You can always start by venturing into one of them, you may be pleasantly surprised.

An example of combining coffee with liquor is the classic Irish Coffee and although it does not have ice cream it has a generous amount of whipped cream that when mixed together is similar to melting ice cream. Here we have the two "flavors" together with coffee. They are different but delicious experiences (at least for me).

Yeah, whiskey is a good friend to coffee, especially in Ireland and I’ve had and Irish coffee, but I think here it’s about liqueur. Something like Baileys or almond liqueur for instance. I don’t think ice cream with coffee will be passable on my taste buds… 😁

I only have good experiences with coffee with ice cream, I have also tried coffee ice cream many times, especially mocaccino. I would have to try a stronger and more delicious flavor with liquor; something with which my palate feels comfortable. There are many combinations and flavors to explore.

Sweet with ice cream, strong with whiskey, coffee always has that magic touch that gives us the energy and sense of well-being we need.

Interesting question.
Well, I've tried both and the truth was that I liked the coffee with ice cream.
I am not a lover of liquor, and, for me, the combination of this drink with coffee is not good. That time I tried some artisan coffee with a liquor that was quite strong. I didn't like it at all (I had to give it to a friend so he could finish it).

On the other hand, coffee with ice cream is a delight, it is a combination of sweet and bitter flavors that melt in your mouth. My favorite is the combination of vanilla ice cream drowned by a strong espresso. It is very tasty, and as proof, I leave my tasting face 😁

Your face shows that the coffee was good. I also thought that combining coffee and liquor was not for me until some friends gave me black Russian, it is a strong drink, but its flavors combine exquisitely. I also tried the white Russian version that has cream added to it. However, I liked the black Russian better, the contrast of vodka and coffee is amazing.

Maybe I should try it too, I shouldn't rely on just one opinion, but that artisanal coffee with liquor was truly horrible. Around here they sell some varieties that I've only heard about, if I get the chance, I'll try some too.

I understand you regarding craft liqueurs. Sometimes I am very careful to taste them as many of them do not follow the steps to obtain a quality distillate. I hope you dare to combine coffee with ice cream or liqueur, maybe just out of curiosity and to live the experience.

I confess I am very curious, so I have tried coffee with liqueur, coffee with ice cream, and even coffee with liqueur and ice cream at the same time. Although indeed, it is not the same as enjoying the pure flavor of an espresso coffee, they are pleasant combinations to the palate. However, if you do not have a sweet taste, sometimes this can be cloying.

If you have not tried some combinations of liqueur and coffee or ice cream and coffee, I can tell you that these ingredients have chemical molecules that exhale the aroma and flavor of the coffee. It is not for nothing that there are combinations with dairy products (let's not forget that ice cream is a dairy product). Within dairy products, there is a molecule called butyric acid that gives the typical aroma to butter. This molecule, when combined with the essential acids of coffee, causes pleasure in the palate. It is very profitable for coffee shops that dare to make these blends.

Here is the last thing I have just tried since we are talking about combining coffee with liqueur and ice cream.

IMG_20230106_142021_Snapseed.jpg

It is a baileys frappuccino with espresso, vanilla ice cream, and whiskey liqueur. I admit it, I have a sweet tooth!

This is an interesting link about combinations with coffee.

What do you say friends? Do you venture to try these combinations?

Hello @coquicoin, it is good to be able to agree with you in this space.

In the last 40 years there has been a growing interest in culinary chemistry to identify molecules in foods that when combined with each other enhance their flavors and aromas. It is something like achieving the perfect synergy for the delight of all the senses of the diner. Culinary chemistry is a fascinating science that has allowed the development of recipes and foods at an industrial level that are a delight.

I hope you can try these combinations such as frapucino with coffee. If you do, I look forward to hearing about your experience. Thank you very much for your comment.

Coffee with ice cream? Hmm, fascinating!

I'm biased here since I only tried coffee with liquor. My all-time favourite, Long Island Iced Coffee! It consists of Premium Gin, vodka, rum, espresso shot, fresh lemon juice & sugar syrup. It tastes and smells like coffee! I even convinced my friend, who doesn't like coffee to try it out, she loved it!

The closest I have been to the coffee taste in liquor is with Bailey's, the taste is well refined and smooth. I couldn't have a good amount of it though because of my poor alcohol tolerance but it really tasted good.

I don't know if this counts but I really hope to have a pure taste of the ordinary both someday.

I have nothing against preparations that include coffee, I mean, it would be hypocritical if we consider that in one of the conversations in the community I said that I like coffee with a little sugar and in a certain way we have to admit that it takes away a lot of protagonism from coffee.

But I do not believe that coffee goes better with liquor or ice cream, because for me the purity of coffee in itself is what stands out among the rest, if our intention is to drink coffee, the ideal would be that our palate has no distractions and these are inevitable when we mix it with other ingredients.

Now, not everyone lives the coffee experience in the same way, that is why it is important to determine what we are looking for, because if on the contrary we want to taste a new preparation where coffee coexists with other flavors such as liqueur, ice cream, chocolate... it will be wonderful!

I have tasted coffee with liqueur and I did not like it at all, I think it has to do with the fact that I do not like that contrast, it makes me feel that I am not appreciating the coffee and that I am not appreciating the liqueur. However, I have tasted desserts containing coffee and liqueur that I have loved, so I guess it is a matter of where it is combined.

In general I would say:

Black coffee is the best.

Most people do accept the fact that coffee can make them feel better and relaxed.

Do you know what? I can bet you, the only thing I added to my coffee was liquor. I felt well and argyle taking it.

It was so unique and special taking coffee with liquor but I have not heard from anyone taking coffee with icecream. I guess most people might do, but I don't think it is the best way of taking coffee.

Taking it would give you some sense of respect in this world we lived in.
I want to add this to it, I guess most people take coffee for breakfast or to hold themselves for a while.

Well, just try it with best cream gin. You would love the taste and the fresh aroma coming from it.

Once I was at Pico el águila in the state of Mérida - Venezuela. The cold was unbearable and they offered us the magic drink to warm us up, it was a black coffee with a shot of whiskey. Coffee is a beverage that has become a real addiction. Many people do not go through the day without a cup of delicious coffee.

This product called coffee and desired by all continues to evolve and transform.

People have become more and more creative with the intention of marketing it. That is to say, we can consume our coveted coffee in cakes, ice cream, puddings, puddings, flans, waffles, liqueurs, among others.

Now, if you ask me how I prefer it, I would say coffee with milk. But if you give me the choice between coffee ice cream or coffee liqueur, then I will choose to say: coffee liqueur because I enjoy it more calmly.

Coffee liqueur has its goodness. For example, if I drink it after a heavy meal, it works as a great digestive.

Ice creams are delicious. However, they are not my favorite desserts. Even so, if you give it to me as a gift I would never say NO! haha

Liquor in coffee? Not my cup of joe. I do have a little scoop on my history with coffee for you beautiful Beanies today though! 😊

I was maybe 19 and didn't know the power coffee would have in my life yet. I needed a couch, a bed frame, a new pair of shoes... I had just taken on my 3rd job, and I woke up each morning feeling drunk from exhaustion. I like my coffee with a bit of cream now, but back then it was ALL cream and sugar. I mean, epic amounts of sugar. My poor tummy.

To my horror, I woke up after 4 hours of sleep to realize I had not replenished the cream! Oh dear, my mind stumbled... how will I... how can I go on?? I looked for answers in my bare cabinets and fridge, when I spotted her. Yes, my tub of secret emergency ice cream. Salvation. It is creamy, it is sweet, and it will make my coffee drinking temp in moments. What a deal!

The coolest part of this story really is that when I found this decadent pairing, I probably burnt 5000 calories a day. I didn't get sugar headaches like I do now. I just drank flipping ice cream sometimes for maybe a few weeks, when the charm wore off. What a time! Nowadays, this would make me absolutely ill.

Still, sometimes I like to mix dessert with coffee. I will buy one of those Caramel-frappa-whatevers from the mermaid lady chain, and I will suck it down like a grinning child. When I decide to have this kind of treat, I always remember when I was younger and thought it was the only way to drink coffee. 💚

It is a delight it can be served with any other dessert. I like my snacks to be sweet and tasty, I drink a lot of coffee and I like to mix it with milk or ice cream if I have it available. Your story reminded me of a time when my mouth got so cloying that I only drank water for the rest of the week.
Sometimes the body screams, "Hey, no more!" 😅

Drinking all that sweet with coffee every day, lol. Yeah, you would probably end up sick or having a blood sugar crisis if you do that these days.
But a scoop of vanilla ice cream washed down with espresso once in a while is not bad for the health #justsaying 😂.

I don’t normally hop on bars and order any cocktail that sounds amusing and fancy in my ears. I do, however, have spent more than a few days hopping from one coffee shop to another just to get a dose of the caffeine thinking it would automatically fix the day that I have already assumed would suck, and maybe just maybe, my whole life. I don’t even have to have a bad day to get myself that Vitamin C (In this case, C is for Caffeine). So now, you already know where my priorities lie.

But for me, coffee, and alcohol together in a cocktail glass don’t do it. I mean, isn’t it normal for people to drink coffee when they’re drunk so it can get them to sober up? Doesn’t that make them contradict each other when it goes inside your body? Imagine coffee and alcohol fighting inside your body about who gets to signal your brain so that your body can react accordingly. How chaotic right?

Many studies show mixing alcohol and coffee is not safe for your body. If you are someone who wants to see how this generation would turn out with everything problematic that’s happening in the world right now, climate change, world hunger, TikTok, and possibly another recession, I think you should avoid ordering that Espresso Martini on your favorite bar (or any bar) for the rest of your life.

You know what I think is better and that also represents all the good things there are in this world? Go to the quiet, aesthetically pleasing café nearby and order yourself a classic Italian affogato, and you will find out why. It has been around since the late 1990s and has been one of the most popular desserts known to man. The word translates as “drowned” or “poached” referring to the scoop of sweet vanilla ice cream drowned in hot coffee.

The bitterness from the espresso and the sweetness from the ice cream is perfect for coffee lovers like me. Vanilla is my favorite among all the ice cream flavors I have tried so far, no matter how plain it is, so just imagine how great it is to pair two of my favorite things in the world, coffee, and vanilla ice cream. If vanilla is not your favorite, you can go wild and crazy instead of getting something plain and classic like me and go for other ice cream flavors, it’s totally up to you!

But wait, it gets better. I regularly prefer iced coffee over hot so isn’t it just perfect that there is a cold version of the affogato that has been made popular here in the Philippines by McDonald’s which they call the Coffee Float? And the best part of it all? It’s cheaper than the regular tall-sized Starbucks coffee next door! It’s their vanilla sundae with chocolate fudge syrup put on top of their signature iced coffee and every first sip just takes me to all the heavens my agnostic theist concept of faith can comprehend.

In this life, with a regular occasional quarter-life crisis, I will always choose coffee with ice cream over any alcoholic drink ever. You will first find me with a classic Italian affogato (but honestly, McDonald’s Iced Coffee Float most times) in my hand before an Espresso Martini, or maybe, not ever.

I could imagine for a moment the conflict between the two to win the brain's attention. A cartoon was drawn in my mind.

The option of an iced coffee is both wonderful and refreshing. If it makes you happy, try to enjoy it every chance you get.

For me, the answer is a little obvious, ice cream!! Two of my favorite things are ice cream and coffee. So the answer to me is pretty obvious;)

Of course, that doesn't mean that I don't like coffee with liquor. I like Irish coffee, and after a copious dinner, a Carajillo is an excellent Pousse-cafe.

But ice cream with coffee is unbeatable. One of my favorites is the affogato, vanilla ice cream with espresso coffee like the one in the pic. And now that I think about it, talking about affogato, maybe I could come up with a version with liqueur, hehe. There is a Venezuelan rum called Arakú, it is a sweet liqueur that mixes rum and coffee, and it just occurred to me that maybe I should try it with vanilla ice cream. I have some Arakú to try.

I just have to go buy the vanilla ice cream. 🏃🍦

That sounds delicious. It occurs to me that if you put a small piece of pistachio or walnuts in it, it would be amazing since rum goes very well with all those ingredients. My mouth is already watering. Talking about these things is crazy 😂😋

I won't be able to sleep tonight thinking about that combination. ☕️🍦🥃 🌰😂😂

Taking note 😅 I've seen araku but haven't had a chance to try it. When I do I'll brag about it around here 😁.

I'm also looking forward to seeing that ice cream with rum, coffee, and nuts. But I haven't had time today to run and get that ice cream, hehe.
Happy weekend! ☕️🍦

Delicious combination. At home we have prepared it as a cocktail and it became a hit at family gatherings. I love it.

Rum and coffee. The combination was perfect. My mom adds a spoonful of condensed milk to make it creamy. It is a delight.

Coffee has an incredible capacity to be versatile. It is suitable to relax us and at the same time it allows us to fill ourselves with energy. While iced coffee is a divine and sweet invitation to share amicably with a family member or friend on a hot afternoon; coffee with liquor mostly promises a more fiery and passionate encounter because the blood will flow faster. Even if the encounter is with ourselves; so if you need your ideas to emanate when writing, this combination is the most suitable for you. Coffee with liquor will always be for a special occasion.

This combination sounds better for me too! Although I’m not a big fan of liqueurs. 😁

My passion is coffee. I prefer to combine it with ice cream, if it's chocolate, even better. I love it, I can't resist. Once I prepared at home this delicious dessert that we call frappuccino, which is iced coffee with chocolate ice cream and cream. I love this combination and whenever I can I ask for it in a coffee shop.
