A good breakfast, it is in my favorite place in the house with the view of the mountains surrounding my city and the city adorning the view.
In the company of those I love, this time my mother prepared potato arepas with homemade butter and dark coffee without sweetener as I like it.
I think that each of the moments we spend with special people are unique and become memorable memories. Breakfast is one of those moments, always accompanied by the first coffee of the day to toast to life.
There is nothing as special as a mother's breakfast, that exquisite taste and the love with which she gives it to us makes it remain in the indelible memories of our history. The potato arepa sounds interesting, I have to try it. Enjoy your meal @chacald.dcymt

Hello good morning breakfast is spectacular accompanied by that view is the ultimate ideal to start the day with the right feet, and prepared by mom there is no comparison, these potato arepas I learned to prepare when the economic crisis was at its peak, they are delicious I love potatoes.
A good coffee with a tasty breakfast with the family are blessings to be thankful for.

Hey there! Lately, this was my breakfast: a coffee and that's it.
It's weird thing coming from someone who doesnt drink coffee everyday or didn't used to. But in the last month a coffee was enough for me to enjoy in the morning.
I found what's best for me and how I like to have my coffee at home.
It's an espresso with frothed milk and dark cacao powder on top. It's like a cappuccino. The cacao powder changes the whole thing, it's more flavored and delicious.
And also, I think I didnt share here on hive my passion for puzzles. 🧩
When not having buzy days, I enjoy a cup of coffee while putting together some puzzle pieces.
For me, this is perfect to start the day!
I truly need to have a cup of this soon.. Im craving 😁
I am more than happy with my homemade one! That foam making machine wd have from Bosch is super handy and makes coffee delicious!
I typically skip the breakfast too. But if there are some homemade treats around I cannot help myself and take a bit. 😁
Well I totally get it. Same here. 😁 And plus, there are days I'm having breakfast, especially when traveling. We usually get hotel room with breakfast. 🙈
My husband and I always do room with breakfast. In Leicester City where I'm now visiting, there's the Brooklyn Hotel that serves an amazing buffet breakfast:)

Sometimes I add it to milkshakes or to milk porridge... but not to the coffee.
(we also have a cocoa substitute - it's called 'Carob' )
Ahhh! well... I add it too in milkshakes, smoothies, oatmeal etc.
And yes, I know about carob and in fact the little one is the one who's aksing for it to every oatmeal. There's no oatmeal without carob and cinnamon.
I would say to add just a bit next time when having coffee. Maybe you'll like it. I especially enjoy it with dark cacao though!

Definitely puzzles are perfect to take a break and have a relax moment. My husband or some friends cant really understand me when I say that I love to do puzzles and how solving them really gives me a good mood. More weird is when I say that organizing things relaxes me. For example, cleaning inside kitchen cabinets, dressing room, shoes arraging, etc. I am obssesed organizing things and I find a pleasure to do so.

I love the combination of your coffee ☕ I never used to drink coffee either ☕ but since a while now this black and hot friend has become an excellent choice for my days ☕ I love cocoa and spices like cinnamon and vanilla in my coffee 😊 we have that in common and putting together puzzles 🧩 is also one of my favorite pastimes 😉 excellent choice to start your day 😉
Same here!! I enjoy coffee too much these days and somehow I am afraid to like it for not becoming too adiccted.😁 definitely making puzzles and coffee became a relax time and I like to start my day this way. I'm glad we found out we have this in common! 🧩🧩
Actually, I cant wait go home and finish the new puzzle I got. Lol.
After solving the Jaguar puzzle, I needed something more colorful so I bought this one. I love it. When I left home a few days ago to Poland, I was like "ohhh no. I didnt have time for my puzzle".
And one more thing: I adore vanilla and cinnamon. They are my fav spices, esprcially cinnamon. But for some reason I cant say I love them in my coffee. At times, I buy or make flavored coffee but I found out I like coffee unflavared. With milk!! And a dash of cacao powder some days. 😁

If I think about my breakfast is just coffee everyday, as I have a cup as soon as I wake up at 5:30 a.m. and then I will have my first meal like 4-5 hours after that.
Exactly! It's more like a mochaccino. The difference would be that, in my coffee, there isnt chocolate syrup .

It's still dark here at 5:30 a.m. I like to see the first light 😁 It's really peaceful until Paco starts squawking at 6:14 a.m. That parrot has an internal alarm clock!

Paco sounds adorable though I would hate him every morning until I would get up from bed! I wouldnt handle another "internal alarm clock", other than my 5 years old who wakes up too early. Sometimes even at 5.
Its been 5 years since my sleep is bad...I cant wait to sleep at my own pace.

P.S. we have a cat, named Loki. When he sleeps in the house, he never sleeps past 8. So in case we're still sleeping and he starts meuuwwwing, I know it's 8. So definitely know what you mean with cute Paco! 💙
I'm glad to help! Hehe. Paco is an Amazona Amazonica; he's got a temper, you know. Parrots ARE NOT pets; they behave like your life partners, and they will probably outlive you so... Ours is 20 years old now (I've posted his picture some place here in the Coffee Conversation because he has breakfast with us). If he continues to be healthy as he is, he will live another 40-60 years. I've been thinking that he might attend my funeral 😂😢
We have cats and dogs, also tortoises in the backyard--the cats are the only ones allowed in the house--. All animals are good company, depending on the circumstances, but parrots demand a lot of patience and attention. You must keep them company all of the time. You haven't given your son one yet, then phew!

I usually skip the morning breakfast, but when my wife makes pancakes or other tasty stuff, I go for it! But definitely my coffee is beforehead.
Typically my morning coffee in the weekend comes when I’m preparing a breakfast for the kids and this is always a healthy breakfast.
This morning it is Oat flakes with white cheese and butter and the little fellas just love this. They also help me cook their meal almost all the time.
But really, with my early morning coffee I don’t eat breakfast. 😉
I just made pancakes with my little one too this last week. It's a habit we two have since he was like 2.
Back then, I would prepare the mix for the pancakes and then put my kid on top of kitchen counter and do pancakes. 🤣
So this last time when making pancakes, he asked: "mommy, would you put me on top, like when I was little? My heart melted and I said woo, you remember? 🥹🥰
He then said: well, I'm too big now. Thats why you wouldnt put me up there. 😅
Memories with little gents or ladies are always sweet and it’s one of the best feelings ever, when you remember a sweet moment.

Both my boys like oat flakes and when they had the option to choose a breakfast they always want oat flakes with butter and white cheese. Sometimes they want the flakes with milk and banana, which also tastes very good!
I tried it with bananas - yes and yes again!
If you want to try 1 of my recipes - a finely chopped apple (just half an apple) goes well with Oak flakes too, adding texture to it.
Already tried the apple when the bananas were missing from the fridge. I added a bit of cinnamon too and it was just like a nice Christmas strudel! 👌
Hello good morning actually when I have to go to the office I also skip breakfast even though doctors say it is the most important meal of the day, I start to get hungry around 11 am so I wait to eat at once, here the tradition is arepa.
Some people don’t eat all day long and have their meal only in the evenings. I also have tried this and don’t have a problem with the hunger, especially when I have a lot of work to do. In the summer I had almost two entire months with eating only in the evening after work and I was feeling great. On the other hand there are people who cannot go without a breakfast and are starving. I had a colleague who was barely making it from breakfast(around 8AM) to noontime at 12!
My brother is like that, he spends the day eating and has no problems, I tell him that he looks like a little bird because he itches, when he gets home he rests first and then eats.
A good way to start the day... Coffee gives us the energy for all activities, especially when we have little ones at home who are inexhaustible. Let's toast to the first coffee of the morning... ☕☕
I will say that coffee gives me joy to start the day. I really don’t feel it like an energy booster, but really when your day is cheerful from the beginning it will continue great!

Hello hello good morning when I have to work I just prepare coffee and take it to the office, but as today is not Saturday I usually get up late my children are grown I prepare a traditional arepa from my country, but today I had at home what here we call French bread so I prepare it with mozzarella cheese for breakfast I like coffee with milk the rest of the day is negrito.

This is what we call French bread here in Venezuela, one goes to the bakery and says give me a bag of French bread hahaha 10 loaves for 1 dollar, it is a delicious breakfast with mozzarella cheese, excellent combination.

Yes, and I totally enjoy it. I've always preferred my coffee black, even when I was a kid, only that I used to add some sugar and now I don't anymore.
I have heard so much about Arepa, I wonder how it tastes though as we do not have it over here.
The arepa is very tasty. It is prepared with corn flour and you can fill it with whatever you want, ham, cheese, egg, chicken, meat, etc.
These are freshly made and delicious-looking:)))

Today, Saturday, December 02, I woke up late. I was up all night watching movies and series that I hadn't done for a long time.
As a consequence, I woke up very late and I didn't have time to have breakfast, but my coffee was not to be missed.

The coffee was hot.
It usually happens that we give ourselves a few days to watch TV 📺 and we get late hours ☕ and I think there is no better companion after a late night than a coffee ☕ ♨️ good luck and happy day.

Watching movies sounds nice!😁 What movies did you watch? I have a few in mind that I would like to watch or rewatch myself, I just didnt find the time yet!
I did a Gerard Butler marathon, a romantic one, and several action ones. I also watched
Oppenheimer and closed with a series that I thought was silly, but ended up catching me: Scandal, the magnificent Olivia Pope.
Recently, I found time, and ventured into watching movies a lot! and the folder 'cinema downloaded' is growing faster than I watch what was downloaded.
If I may recommend you a nice movie (totally not for kidz) it will be 'Russian Doll' mini-serial (2019). My wife and I were very fond of the 1st season.
And... coffee will go well with this movie, no doubts... but I do not rule out the possibility that you will want some other drink for an older audience! That's it, no more teasing hints. 😜

let me put it so: the stuff that is consumed in the movie by the characters, is not as innocent as tea or !PIZZA :P it is more harsh. ☘️ but the movie still great. no special effects, great dialogs, great indirect plot (you cant imagine whats the deal behind all this maze). and majestic night cityscapes, a lot of them. good picture.

Day 2 December in my kitchen smells like Christmas!!!! 😁 nothing like having breakfast at home 😊 I feel so lucky 🙏 today I enjoyed a delicious latte and homemade panettone 🥮☕ baked by my beloved husband and chef 🥮 who very early today, prepared and baked the first proof of this delicious Christmas bread 🎄 and meanwhile, I took the opportunity to write part of my wishes for this Christmas 💫 there is nothing like enjoying Christmas at home with my loved ones.... ☕

It is a delicious bread with dried and polished fruits, chocolate, almonds, nuts, it is very delicious 😋 and if you share it with your coffee ☕ it is a perfect combination.... I don't know if for many but for me it is 💕.

Well, this is how my today's breakfast looked like. I drink coffee most of the time at home, mostly in the morning... (but not necessarily, when we want to have this ritual in the evening, I brew it in the evening.)
I made a fresh grind of Arabica beans (specialty has a fancy name: 'Sicily Barocco'), added spices as usually: ginger, star anise, cinnamon stick and 3 cardamom grains...
...and my wife made a dish of pancakes stuffed with liver - yes, they are ready-made, this is a lazy dish, very handy when you don’t want to waste your life’s time hours on cooking.

I can always tell when I see one of your beautiful photos and more when I see that cute blue cup. We have liver twice or thrice a month but we spread it on crackers. I have never filled pancakes or crepes with it; now I must try it!
I always have something handy for quick breakfast because my week is hectic. I don't even have breakfast most days, but I do have a good lunch.

As for liver, my most fave receip is an easy sandwich: spread liver pate over rye bread, add 2 slices of pickled cucumber on top, and consume it with a cup of coffee! What's great about this sandwich, is the harmonious contrast in taste (and, again, it takes minimal time to create). Sadly, I have no photo to show. ☘️
It'd be a rare combination for any Venezuelan I know except my husband, hehe. I'm sure he'll love it, perhaps because of his Spanish roots. I promise I'll try it as soon as I find rye bread, which I can't find anywhere in my city but on the weekends when I travel to my second job. I'm trying to imagine the taste, and I think I already like it because I love the three ingredients though I've never put them together in a sandwich 😁

I boil the cloves in water for ten minutes and with that water I prepare the coffee, I change the flavor daily, I like it with cinnamon and vanilla too.

In the city where I live we are known for having fried foods for breakfast, sometimes I go to restaurants where they already have them or I prepare them at home like today, these are mandocas made from corn flour, sugar and grated cheese, I also prepared a good cup of coffee, like every morning.
Those mandocas must be tender and crispy, I guess. Look like a very convincing and delicious match to your cup of coffee, I'd really love to taste / enjoy them too!

Yesterday I had a long journey pending, so it was necessary to make a well-resolved arepa to calm my stomach until the afternoon, which I prepared very early in the morning before leaving home.
I started my day with this succulent arepa with cheese, fried egg and tomato, the perfect complement for my black coffee, without sugar. I like to add tomatoes to the arepa because it gives it a very special flavor. So I enjoyed it, thanking the Creator for allowing me to start my day with this good breakfast. 😊

Today we come with a new conversation in our beloved group. This time I want to show you the traditional Sunday breakfast that we make at home. As you can see it is a very robust breakfast with lots of food. This breakfast has been made for many years in the family and it is only on Sundays, but coffee is a must to accompany such a delicious banquet. Since the breakfast is so abundant, lunch is light, just a chicken broth. Hehe...

For us it's Sunday brunch. Usually, we don't have any drinks with our food, but on Sundays, it's different...
... because on Sundays, we eat fresh fish, and I let the house open so the smell won't impregnate the curtains and tapestries. Doors and windows open means breeze but also heat, so we feel like drinking something cold and refreshing, like this hibiscus infusion.
We have our breakfast, brunch this time, in the kitchen. Our kitchen table is not too big, but it's big enough. I manage.
We had a variety of fried fish today: fresh amberjack tuna, anchovies (not the ones for pizza but the fresh, big ones), and cojinovas (which are like little pompano fish--no idea if they're the same); we also had plenty of salad (tomato, red onion, cucumber, parsley, cilantro, lemon juice, white vinegar, and salt); some roasted arepas and fried slices of ripe plantain which are never missing around here in my hometown when you're eating fried fish. I also added some delicious stewed black beans my brother gave us yesterday.
Paco, our 20 year old parrot, always joins us for the first meal of the day. But it's Canela who always has the first coffee with us. Today this happened before my husband went to buy the fish we would eat--and I mean "we" all, our three cats and Charlie, our eternal guest cat, our two dogs, and the two of us.
When we finished eating, I did the dishes while my husband closed all the doors and windows and turned on the air conditioner. It was time for another coffee and be lazy at last 🙈 But not before some coffee conversation.
This was the most detailed and entertaining account. Oh, and Happy Caturday - pass 'hi' from me to your kitty, please. 😘

What a happy coincidence! Horacia is my dear jelicle cat. We had another domino cat but he passed two years ago as well. I miss him every day, so I know exactly how you feel after your loss. It's the sour part of life and we can't help it. We do keep nice memories of our furry angels and we will cherish them until our time comes.

Eliott's book is very memorable for me - it was really the 1st book I took part in creating (it was a EN/RU bilingua edition) after I graduated and started my 1st job as an editor... back in 2000-es. I still have that tine black paperback at my shelve. Precious book! and Horacia seem to be a unique cat too. !LUV 🙏

Unbelievable! It is indeed a most precious book. I only deal with some of Eliot's literary theories in my class, but I read the book for fun some years ago; I can only imagine the work it took for translators to find equivalents in Russian, as always happens when it comes to poetry. I remember reading somewhere that jelicle cats is a playful mispronunciation of dear-little cats, hehe.Well, that is just something you can't translate easily--or just can't.

I am not sure that translations were very good - medium, to face the truth. but thats a hard case indeed, hard nut to crack. original is far better. but, hey, we dont need always to have only 'best' - the option 'good' is also needed. literary work must be published so that readers can become familiar with it, so that new generations can make new takes on it. "standing on the shoulders of their predecessors", right? 🐈🐈🐈
