Hello to all who take the time and trouble to read me, I am very happy to participate once in #KISS, where we are given some interesting ideas that invite us to talk a little about us and minimalism in our lives, in addition to sharing useful tips to have a simple visa and without too much stress and things in the head. Today I answer the questions posed in the blog ideas.

Are you working hard, or hardly working?

If I had been asked this question a few years ago, I wouldn't even have had time to answer because I would have been working for sure, that said, I am currently working, of course I am, I do it in the best way possible, I mean I try very hard to do it well, I am dedicated to sell skin care products and others, for a company, the truth is that I have been doing it for several years, but not just the same as when I started to work.

A few years ago, when I started working because my income is from sales, I had to get potential customers and also offer the product, this is not difficult for me because I have worked in sales all my life, only this time because of the pandemic sales gave ease of payment, things were paid on credit. I didn't think this was a bad idea until, someone used the products and decided not to pay for them. This situation not only left me out of pocket, it made me stressed and discouraged. It can happen to all of us, right?

At that time the stress of getting paid and getting paid was killing me and as I said in previous posts my health was not the best. I had to change my way of thinking about work, because I knew that so many things in my mind at the same time would end up hurting me, I decided to keep control of the situation in the following way: in a small notebook I took note of the most important things, having these little things in order helped me a lot, instead of a lot of invoices and papers everywhere, I decided to order the invoices in digital and keep the bills and everything else in my little notebook.

Doing this made me not to be so overwhelmed by all those papers that at some point accumulated and generated pressure on me, now I know that I just have to go to my notebook to know everything I need to know. Although I want to have a simple life we all have to work to meet our basic needs, so yes I work hard but I don't let work be more important than my family or me.

Share some ways in which you reduce your effort without compromising your output and work quality.

I like to do things right and I like my clients to be pleased with the way I treat them, but I have certain rules to keep my work from taking over my life and not allowing me to do anything else.

  • I have a limit on the use of my cell phone, as I work with my phone mostly, I have a time in the morning when I start using it after doing important things, such as nourishing my physical and spiritual sense. If someone wants to contact me about something at work before that time or even after that time when the cell phone usage limit has expired, they won't get a response until the next day.

Some may have been annoyed that I didn't respond at a certain time, but in the long run they understand why I did it, plus it doesn't affect the quality of my work and the attention I give to my clients during my working hours. Doing this has helped me to teach people that my company is important to me but not everything.

  • On the other hand, I avoid situations that can lead me to stress me excessively, I already have regular customers that I know and trust so I can sell them the products on credit and I know they will pay safely, but when a customer is new I avoid delivering any product without receiving payment first, eventually if this new customer continues to work with me then he will gain my trust.

  • On the other hand I have clear the things I have to do in my work, as I am an older adult, I work from home, that is to say that I invite my clients to come to my house to pick up the products and in case I can't I take money from my earnings to be able to move in a cab and not to make too much effort going to distant places walking.

The me of a few years ago always worked very hard and exerted herself to the point of sacrificing her own physical health, walking long distances to deliver products to my clients and working long hours at night being available to everyone at all times. Of course this becomes exhausting both physically and emotionally, however making these changes that I mentioned helped me to reduce the effort I make in my work, however none of my clients have complained about me, and in fact the results of my work have brought me good results so I think I was doing it right.

I do not want to work more than the account to make more and more money, I know that what I am doing so far helps me to get enough to have what I need, living this way has helped me a lot to reduce the anxiety that society can produce when it invites us to have the best of the best, the latest phone, a luxury car to move, a bigger house to be able to put more things, I have clear what I need and I work towards that.

Hello @cira1964

Your stories are relevant and relatable, and you seemed to have learned the value in mainstreaming your life in an effective and manageable way.

in a small notebook I took note of the most important things, having these little things in order helped me a lot, instead of a lot of invoices and papers everywhere, I decided to order the invoices in digital and keep the bills and everything else in my little notebook.

Excellent step!

after doing important things, such as nourishing my physical and spiritual sense. If someone wants to contact me about something at work before that time or even after that time when the cell phone usage limit has expired, they won't get a response until the next day.

It took me a long time to realise this was important in my private life as well. I have always been one to answer immediately to every call without evaluating and prioritising the importance.

Nice write up on the topic:)

It is all way good when we allowed our clients to be pleased because that would likely make them to come back for more of our services, you did it well for still admiring minimalism at all point by not allowing your work activities to intertwined with your private lifestyle.
