“Rain, Rain, go away”.
“Come again another day”.
“Little babies want to play”.

If you passed through the womb then you were once a baby and that Rhyme should ring a bell. Back then we sing when it’s about to rain. Even though we love it when it rains, we still tell the rain to go away because we want to play, and if it falls, we would be happy to play in it if we can escape the view of our parents to reign with the rain as it rains. Kids love it when it rains. Wait. Is it only the kids? Nah! Adults love it too especially when it’s towards the night when they are through with the days stress and ready to sleep at night. Sleeping alone in this case is not is a call for unbearable cold. This is the period when a stubborn husband will be forced to beg his wife and apologize even when he’s right. Hahahahaa. Just leave him, he knows the reason for his actions

Anytime it’s raining, there are always victims that get battered by the down pour. Those that are in their place of abode, offices, or any safe place still feel the impact of the rain on their system one way or the other. What about those that were caught in the rain and have no place to hide
?

I’ve walked in the rain

I’ve walked in the rain several times. Kids like water and as a young lad, the blood ran through my veins. I would intentionally trek home from school just to walk under the rain even though I have my transport fare. I don’t know why it gives me joy, but I know that we are always in groups and as we go like a swam of bee, we would shout and chase ourselves watching many adults run to shade themselves from the down pour. Are they not feeling the vibes? This is fun, I would imagine. Little did I know that a time is coming that I would only love to see it rain and not walk in it. It’s easy how time flies. I lived to witness the time

I was caught in a heavy rain

My uncle is a politician who love doing things coded. If he wants to work for any senior politician, he knows how to go about it that it would be difficult for opponents to know how he’s playing his games. He called me one day to escort him to a place which I did. I was serving in the student union government in school that year so I was glad to help him in his political career even though he was serving as the councilor of a local government in our home town. Instead of going with his car, he decided we go with a bike just to disguise as if we are within the community and also to make the journey easier because the road was bad and the journey will last for more than 4 hours

We got to the place and won the heart of the chief of the community and his people, but on our way back, the trees started singing as the wind blew them in different directions. “This is a sign of rain” I told my uncle. He was convinced that we would get home before the rain starts. We were traveling on a village road created inside the forest where there are no houses or anywhere to hide. Many things ran through my mind. I was thinking of where to hide my phone in case the rain outsmart us. My uncle moved at the speed of light to make sure we get home or at least get to where we can hide before the rain would start but his 440 race ended when the host of heaven opened the showers of blessing. We looked left and right and there was nowhere to hide, so the best thing we could do was to keep moving. The rain wasn’t much when it started but after some time, it started raining cat and dog and the wind was controlling the bike. Before we would be knocked down and sustain multiple injuries under a distressed rain, we preached for ourselves and stopped the bike under a tree using its branches as a shade

When my uncle checked his phone, it was as wet as

Ha my phone is drenched he exclaimed! I didn’t pity him a bit because he has more than 3 different phones and he took only one with him. He asked about mine, and I told him I kept it inside my tight boxer under my scrotum. He looked at me with one side of his eyes as if I’ve done something bad. As we display that short drama, staying under the tree became one of the worst option that could help us from the rain. My uncle sighted a cocoyam plantation some meters away and we ran and hid under the leaves. It was indeed a perfect umbrella. It was safe for me to remove my phone under the power house I kept it. Though nature secured us, we were shaking and jerking like a car that its fuel got exhausted at the middle of the road

Finally, when the rain stopped, we continued our journey. It was already late and I went straight to school. When I got to my hostel, I prepared hot tea and covered myself with blanket. Then I heard a knock on my door. It was Jummy that paid me a courtesy visit. Did I call her to come? May be I did. The only thing I remembered after her arrival was that I woke up 7 AM the following day with no clothes on and the cold has vanished
